Delbert
I think it could be the lymm shoot that you heard about (just outside altrincham). I never found out where it was Like NickyT said worsley (Manchester clay sports) is the nearest .....................ALTRINCHAM FOREVER.................... Star Gun Club Lymm - follow the A56 through Lymm turn first right after you pass under the Thellwall Viaduct and turn left along the side of the viaduct the club is on the left take your Shotgun Cert with you and say hi to Jed for me. Altrincham Clay Shooting Club is off Sinderland Lane at the Warburton end shooting alternate Sundays when it ******* up my pigeon shooting on the adjacent farm. next question? Delbert
Beretta - Middle Farm Bredbury was run by the Barlow brothers who were farmers. Nice people, but they had a number of silly noise complaints from people living miles away. considering that it was under the flight path for Manchester Airport, it was a joke. The reason they closed was the next door farm threatening legal action for the shot falling on the field (thats the one on the right of the track over the bank . They reckoned it was hampering growing and nothing to do with the field not having a lime dressing in living memory but you cant win a legal contest unless you are a lawyer representing pity really great shoot. 100milesaway
Yes, I also won my first trophy at middle farm , still got loads in the stash boxfrom there .The brothers were good lads and I'm sorry it had to close.Quarnford gone as well, , won lots of trophies there too, even managed high gun once, It was always a good shoot, but sometimes a bit unsafe. Runninghill shoot above Uppermill, still going strong ,as is High moor near the Roebuck pub above Oldham. Brings back fond memorys, and it shows how important these small shoots are, for getting us all on the road to better things, it's also good to revisit them after five or ten years to realise how you develop by travelling to different grounds.
