This really started on Wed when i got a call from a mate to "get your **** over here Im butchering a deer and some of its for you "Picked up a load of venison got home stuck it in the fridge then went rabbit shooting with MH.

We got 1 crow and 32 rabbits but while we were driving round i got a call from a farmer "mike i have a lot of ferals in the buildings when can you sort them"Told him i would be there one night this week.

That brings us on to yesterday it was very busy spoke to John (mag357) to see if he fancied coming along to help MH was working poor ***..

Daft question to ask i know but yes he was up for it.

Then i went to the local butchers for some pork fat for the burgers and sausage.

Had just got the venison minced and started on the pork fat when John arrived to help..We were in full production from just after lunch till nearly 5pm..

END RESULT

Right most of the day gone then Neilp called at 6pm for his floaters and to sort out a couple of broken tiles and point the gable end of my roof for me ive being having a bit of a problem but he's fixed it..

Right on the road again to pick John up to go sort these ferals out we both took our airarms S410 and John took his HMR and i took my 223 just in case..

First port of call was the cricket field in Johns village i spotted for him and he shot 3 rabbits..

Zero was OK on his HMR, then over to a couple of farms for a ride round bunny bashing till it got dark so we could lamp the ferals. You get more that way in daylight one shot and they all ****** off..

Quick ride round a couple of stubble fields one the first farm hoping for sight or even a shot at a fox no joy but resulted in 2 rabbits for John so quick phone call to a farmer next door and he told me loads of rabbits in what he calls No1 field and the next one to it that is named the mushroom field..

Nice and handy it was straight out of one gate and directly across the road into No1 field..John jumped out and closed the gate and crossed the road to open the other one he shot back ( I had already seen it ) " charley crossing the field says John )

I told John i had seen it but had promised this farmer i would not shoot foxes on his land ( big hunting family ) but just to be on the safe side i drove into the field and got the 223 ready you never know...

John jumped in and i drove to the top corner where the fox had gone to see if we could see it. Drove through the gate which was open into the next field and there was charlie just quietly walking across the field to our left..223 out the window a quick squeek he stopped to have a look and BANG 50gr V max BT straight in the engine room he dropped on the spot..

John looked at me and said " i thought you had given your word not to shoot foxes on this farm " I told him i did but once he had crossed this fence he's on another farm and i can shoot them on there....

Then i just drove round the 2 fields and i spotted for John he shot a furthur 25 rabbits..

By this time it was dark so we drove to the farm to sort the ferals out i lost count but i think we must have shot about 15 to 20 most of them in one building..a few did get away so might have to have a look back soon..
