There is a demand for guns and ammo in the US, but the Xtrema would not be one of them. Dealers all over the country seem to be giving false promises, but it's the importers who are messing them around.

I've been offered a Kahles ZF84 6x42, the bloke said I could try it and make an offer if I want it. The glass is in excellent condition, but the outside is poor, even for an older scope, deep ring marks and you can see blobs where damp once was. The rubber on the eye piece is missing too. Functionally it's fine and glass is good. The mag range is not what I'm looking for, but who wouldn't mind a cheap Kahles? How much would you offer?

Even if it takes you a few months to get club membership, you could always ask a dealer to keep the rifle for you until you get your FAC.

Especially when you see how cheap they are in the States.

I have a (supposedly) 9 gun cabinet, I have 5 guns in there and there's no room for more. Buy the biggest you can afford.

Good shooting, what ammo did you use?

I have one and it's a brill little scope, optics are plenty clear. I've had a few Leupolds and they are always one of my first choices. I doubt you'd be disappointed if you had one.

I have a Northstar and it's been brill, I prefer it to the Wildcat and T8 as it's less bulky. I also have an S5 and a CQB and can't fault them. You won't go wrong with Ase Utra, they are built like brick outhouses and are amongst the most compact out there with no loss of suppression.

I bought an as new Baikal O/U for £300. I shoot clays with it as well as the lads with £2/3k Berettas. The action is tight and being relatively inexpensive, it's not the end of the world if it gets knocked about when out hunting. Well worth consideration.

I wear a good ol fashioned Woolly hat, does the trick nicely.

I have a Howa and it's served me well for just over 2 years now. I would have bought an A bolt, but the magazine system put me off, try it, you'll see what I mean. A great rifle let down by a magazine designed by a Baboon.

That lamp is nice and compact, looks just the job The debate of a bunny calibre could go on forever, it's just personal taste. My choice would be the .22LR, does the same job as the others, is a lot cheaper, and you can get subsonic ammo which won't scare your game away after the first shot. (Providing you use a mod of course). However, the .17HMR shoots like a laser.

Yeah I know cheap is a thing of the past, hence why I put 'cheap' I don't want to shoot clover leaf groups, I'd feed it better ammo for that. I just want it to be minute of fig11 accurate.

Unnoticable reduction? Is his mod made from the cardboard tube from a bog roll? I think a mod would be a fantastic idea, much nicer on the ears. Don't be a schmoe, apply for a variation now

Hard to say what a 'best' mod would be, depends on yor needs and what rifle it's going on, you can get good all rounders though. If you are looking into a T8, have a look at the ASE Northstar, ignore the cheesy name, it's smaller lengthwise and diameter wise, it's stronger being solid stainless steel, a tad lighter (not very noticable though), and it's the same price as a T8. You've got everything to gain and nothing to lose. They don't come apart for cleaning, but just squirt some cleaner through each time after use (you could even use WD40) and they'll last for ages.

As the title says. Basically I'm looking for the cheapest .223 I can find, most places who had RG surplus now seem to be out. I found GunShop in East Barnett who have RG 62gr, but ideally I would like to collect myself, EB is a bit far. Anyone know of any 'cheap' ammo?

I'd love to go shooting in the Australian Outback.
