It's back to Brown and Blairs legacy of "we are all equal, no winners or losers" My childs primary has just started allowing the children to compete rather than going through the motions. For years they wouldn't allow it as the losers might get upset We need to get a winning mentality and also learn how to lose, if the kids can never win or lose at school the first time they are in any form of competition they get a massive strop, sulk and storm off never to try again. When I was at school if we didn't do well we were encouraged to try harder next time, it didn't always work but a lot of kids I was at school with went on to represent their county.
