12g Shotgun Reloading

Recommended Posts

Apparently if you're after the money saving side, you'll have to reload 30,000 carts a year before you begin to break even. That's really only on the basis that you get a good deal on lead/steel

Not bad, seeing as that'd mean you'd have to shoot 82 carts a day to hit your quota. So £5 a box of 25 carts, £6,000 a year on carts... I can think of better things to spend 6k a year on!

I'll stick my oar in here and say it depends what cartridges you shoot now as to if you can save money.

If you shoot eley firsts or any other cheap cartridge then no you won't save money. However if you use something a little better like black gold or world cup then you can load a similar performing cartridge cheaper than you buy them.

It is also a great feeling to powder clays with a cartridge that you have loaded.

If you want to load a few to try out then let me know, I have the gear and you are welcome to come round and load some.

:good: Ive been loading pigeon loads, have had a reasonable sucess with them, had 2 that pharted and fell out of thre end of the gun but other than that theyve been killing well! :drinks:

Its quite theraputic too....if my missus is watching a film that im mildly interested in i can reload 100 carts during the average film!!!! As MC said quiet satisfying when you drop that fat poigeon out of the sky with something you re-loaded....also quiet hilarious when one goes phhhhaaaaarp!!! B)
