michufc
Hi to all just thought I would keep you updated about my springer. Well I train my dogs on a large shooting estate well this morning I got out of my truck and saw around 60 ish pheasants out in the middle of the stubble field which then goes on to the woods. So i would try him with his steady nous so hunting him up nice and steady and out of no where he flushed a pheasant that I hadn't seen so I blew the stop and he sat a looked at the bird then at me waiting for instruction. Well chuffed so I sent him in the opposite direction and he continued to stay focused all the way to the woods. So I took him just inside the woods where it normally goes wrong and he pulls ahead but he didn't today and flushed another pheasant and a partridge from under my nose sitting at both flushes. So not to push my luck it was heel work all the way back to the truck really really pleased with him

michufc
Yes it's frustrating at times but once it goes to plan it makes me feel really proud. I was having big problems with him at one stage so i gave him a rest from training for a while and I have put it down to a stroppy sort of teenager stage. Good luck with yours matey
