I'm into shooting of all kinds as I'm retired from the forces, I like high powered lasers and enjoy building them too. I also do martial arts and general fitness too. My passions are all of the above...

Is everybody round here this friendly...?
Timelord replied to ajb403's topic in Welcome to Pigeon Watch
I'm with everyone else here as I would tell him where to stick his gun too, there's no need to be rude  -
Pigeons are like little armoured tanks that's why it's best to give them a head shot, although the neck will do if the head does not present itself.Â

I agree fullly Air arms Diablo Field they are extremely accurate and have a nice soft compound that will deform the pellet really well on impact, making the maximum trauma possible on the intended quarry.Â
-
I have a Theoben S-TYPE in .177 and believe it's an animal on rabbits right out to 70 yards
-
I use one of THESEÂ
-
I use my good old King Ratcatcher with a green laser on top for quick targeting when the rats are on the move, they don't stand a chanceÂ

I use Air Arms field Diablos in my .177 S-TYPE as recommended by Theoben, I use Daystate FT or JSB exacts in my Sheridan .20 pistol. RWS superdomes seem to be favored by my King Ratty and RWS CO2 pellet in my C225 for plinking. Overall I find domed pellets the best/accurate all rounders and as others have pointed out flat heads and hollow point are excellent for close range ratting. I find Accupells ok but due to the slightly higher content of steel in these pellets, Theoben do not advise that you use them in their guns fullstop as they can damage the Anshutz barrels. They work ok in my Ratty but after I shoot the last of them away I will stick to the RWS super dome in the Ratty as they are more consistant in this gun. It's all about personal choice and trial and error to find out what suits your gun, so experiment with different pellets and when you find what your gun likes the best then stick to itÂ

I have similar thoughts as I own a King Ratcatcher but I won't risk making my gun illegal. I've just gone PCP with a Theoben S-TYPE in .177. The CO2 Ratty is now for barns and ratting on milder days and the Theoben will be the everyday gun...

Ebay is ok but they sting you for postage, all the lasers that you can buy in the UK are well over priced and have horrible specs on the beams. If you want good quality lasers the look HERE I own several of these both green and red and they knock spots off anything you can find on Ebay and in the UK, not to mention that this company do free shipping as well. Because the company is based in Hong Kong the shipping times can take anything from 4-14 days. The prices are unbeatable as this is where most of the Ebay sellers buy from them in bulk to sell on the bay. So in ths case "why go to the oil rag when you can go straight to the engine instead" ATB Lee..Â

I used to use the .20 accupells but sadly you can't get those anymore

Something for the newbies to watch..

It saves me a lot of effort in running my Laser forum when we get newbies feeling their feet around the board and as people have noticed it's funny too, without offending people -
Just as the title of the thread says this is quite funny too Click here>> http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting

I had a friend who was a heavy drinker until one day hanging on my washing line was his supply of White Lightning Cider We played a game of 10 blue bottles and gave him a leaflet from Achoholics Anonymous Those things when haken well really do fizz and sometimes completely explode

Theoben and Falcon do and I'm sure if you looks hard you'll find a lot of other companies do too..
