  1. You're the good looking one - with the bottle bottom glasses !!!!!! PP
  2. Ern I'm hoping PCF will post saying he meant he verbally 'kicked the deer' and not literally. That is right, isn't it, PCF? If not I'll have to agree with Ern, these are hard days for us all and the anti folk latch onto anything they think will help sway the 'fence sitters'. PP
  3. Try a good quality search engine or one of the many shooting magazines:thumbs: PP
  4. Dead eye, I'd definitely opt for the red filter. The rabbits are fare more likely to 'hold' in the light for you to take a well aimed shot. My own opinion would be to speak to the local copper and let him know what you are up to, but other forum members will disagree with that. I like to let people know where I'll be in case of any problems! Are you walking and shooting or shooting from a vehicle? The AAS410 is a very good rifle. I had one before I changed it for a .22 rimfire. What scope are you using? The scope will make all the difference when shooting at night, especially with a lowlight filter. Also, practice with the light and rifle before you use them in anger. Things look very different through red filter BW PP
  5. Col Pol I am VERY impressed PP (Sorry folks, private joke ) Dead eye, what are you shooting the rabbits with? Ideally, lamping nights should be cloudy with a moderate breeze. A little bit of rain blowing in the wind isn't bad either (unless you vehicle doesn't like wet grass!) Having said that, you can shoot large numbers on deathly still nights with a full moon. The rabbits soon get wise to you being there so hit them really hard for a couple of nights then rest them for a while. If you don't they become lamp shy and will scuttle off as soon as a light appears. Then when the landowner looks out in the morning he'll see hundreds of rabbits - which you have made hide from lights - eating his lovely grass!!!! What colour lamps are you using? E.g. red, white , blue etc. Hope this helps. BW PP
  6. I think we should consider forgiving NTTF, but only if he buys the beer all next week in the PW Arms
  7. Yet another reason we all need to be seen and heard on 'Declaration Day' - coming soon to an area near you
  8. This made me laugh http://www.designegg.com/sheepcull.html Fill yer boots PP
  9. Crow killer, it is illegal to shoot foxes with anything other than expanding ammunition with a rifle
  10. Fell off your chair Mr B? Hope the injury wasn't anything trivial Brought some of your 'flockies' last week. Surprised how poor they were. S'pose that explains why they are the 'cheaperst in the UK'. Wouldn't throw too much mud.......
  11. I think chopping off its feet etc first, then starting the time, is cheating somewhat!! If I'm preparing rabbits for a customer, I can't just ignore the time taken to remove its feet! It all counts in the actual time required. Best way is to get a big pile of bunnies (100 plus) and work your socks of for one hour. The amount that are table ready is the amount you can do in an hour
  12. Will, is that shootwarehouse, or ****warehouse.com?!? I don't normally get involved in this type of arguement as I'm not really involved. However, I think you are out of order to have a pop at William, especially as he hasn't even posted a message on this particular thread! Will does a great job and probably for far less than he deserves. Most of us get a great deal out of the thoughts and ideas of others. Don't be confused by the threads about making your own things etc. People of that inclination will find ways to do their own thing, regardless of the posts on here. I am perfectly capable of making a rotary, decoys etc but, like many others, choose to buy them from people like you and Deako etc. DIY and buying from the 'professionals' is something that some people will always do. In the same vein some will always buy the best they can afford (not always reflected in the price!) and others will buy the cheapest. They will never change, we shop where we want and are usually engrained in our methods of product selection in our early years of posessing money If your link is on the site, people will use it and buy stuff. Equally, we'll make our own if we wish. Don't lean on William 'cos he's doing his best for us all. Realistically, due to the policing of a site being so difficult there probably isn't an easy way for the moderators to prevent links going up. even if only for a short while. Whatever happened to speculating to accumulate? Surely if advertisers pay a bit that any business is better than no business. Perhaps I look at things too simplistically. However, what I can do is make a promise that if people lean on my mate William that I will openly rubbish their products at every opportunity that I get. And believe me, that will be a lot of opportunities indeed. See, now you've pi**ed me off and ruined my day. PP

  21. I have a Samurai soft top. It was cheap but in good condition so I use it for shooting and as a run around.
  22. Don't confuse choke with coke!!! Order the wrong stuff and everything gets all sticky :*)
  23. Hi Mahmood, yes I lamp -a LOT!! Over 3000 rabbits this year, often twicw a week. My set up is as follows: Suzuki Jeep with headlights and spotlights covered with red acetate sheeting. A hand lamp (1.5million candle power) with a red filter. Two additional driving lamps on a separate switch to the main lights left uncovered - white light. I only use the white driving lights for the short road journeys or if I need extra light to 'pick up' by. Myself and the driver (who also lamps) both carry headtorches for picking up too. I have tried lights of most colours - blue, orange, violet, green, ultra violet - but none give me the same results that red give. Red doesn't seem to spook the bunnies (or foxes) and gives good spotting chances by showing their eyes as a vivid red colour. None of the other colours seem to do the same. I find my scope also manages to collect enough light from the redness to give crystal clear definition to allow me to shoot consistently and accuratey throughout the night. On windy nights I use red spots and full beam and dipped lights on still nights as it allows us to creep a bit nearer! It may seem an odd set up but it works well for me! PP
