  1. I recall seeing a tv show once it was an american police, camera, action, type thing where a police officer unloaded a 9mm pistol at a chap at a cars lengh and scored 8 hits centre body mass and the bloke was still running round ! The SA80 was designed short for NI as alot of it was cross street or within a buildings and the legth of the SLR was always a issue for swinging round in buildings. The 5.56 as already said was to create casultys. The 7.62 M14 is a very highly accurate whepon loved by marksmen and snipers world wide and most of the Millitary folk i work with love the M14 and say it still holds its own today despite being a old whepon. The 5.56 rounds dont penetrate much in regard to walls and trees so in the situation of being pined down by anyone behind cover you would want the penatration to hand that the 5.56 dosent offer. Our troops should have a larger range of whepons availble these days ! But in answer to the question yes modern millitary whepons are very acurate. Its the person behind it that counts.
  2. Well i seem to enjoy quite a range: Beer: Guniess, ruddles county, Rainbow chaser, bombader, Most local real ales and tribute. Larger : Grolsh, cobra, san migel. Cider: Magners, Bulmers, stoweford press medium sweet. Sprits: JD & coke, Cockburns port. Would love to drink wiskey neat but i makes me cough and splutter some once swallowed Red wine: Rivercrest (nice and cheap) White: Zilzie viognier ( austrailian, about £8 and strong%) love it
  3. Complete, Barrels down, springs eased (snap caps).
  4. The Canadian army camo is pretty cool but i belive the authentic stuff is illeagle to sell but you can get very good imitiation stuff ! Looks the mutts nuts when ever i see them round the base.
  5. The front quarter of both ! So the round would clear straight through the first rabbit ?
  6. Frontline spot-on pipetts here to, done on time to the day every time so far and no little guests to date. cant see any reason to use anything else £11 of the web !
  7. Question .......... If you could line up 2 bunnys 6 ft apart but in line at 40 meters could you get a double kill with a .22 rf or .17hmr ?
  8. Mrs SS has seen my post and granted me a shed permit for when we get our own place later this year Design plans for my first ever shed will have to be drawn up, a list of contence is alredy brewing in my mind !

  10. Okay folks am certain that i am doing nothing wrong but just want to make sure as i dont want any trouble . I intend to take our Cairn terrier out shooting with me soon, mainly as a compaian but also to work the hedges and undergrowth to push out any bunnys, squizzers, pigeons or crows. Now is this completly okay and well withing the law ? Hope thats not to much of a dumb question but never having had a working terrior (or any other dog) I want to be sure first ! I wont be letting him off down holes etc, mainly just exercise for him
  11. Also if you peel the paper lable of a can of beans and open the lid you can cook them in the tin ! The other favorite was chop up cheese ham onion and cucumber and tip it into a bag of chrisps, made for a great meal in a bag only dirtying a single knife ! shamefull i know !
  12. I have to put my hands up to this to, iv hit a stale patch at the mo and have gone though the process of blaming everything other than myself, the first excuse being because it was a new gun and i now realise what a load of "Horse "n" Trap" that was. But what what i do find makes it worse is the more i beat myself up about it at the time and also after, i need to find the fun again and just relax back into it again, hopfully finding my feet again ! (had to say this before silver pigeon did :yp: ) I am sticking to my 12g silver pigeon at the mo but do have these urges to shoot other guns available to me and i have an incredible craving for a escort 20g semi in all black and i supose you have to be able to let your hair down and enjoy yourself once in a while !
  13. Hotshots fill in your profile with a location and maybe someone near you may have one you could have a look at ! I have one but 28" barrels and love it ! :yp:
  14. Am thinking of trying cotton wool ! Iv never taken bryn to a clay shoot or actually on a propper session in the feild but for when we go beating this coming season i want him to be happy round multipul shot sounds and considering taking him to a clay ground but only for a half hour spell and not in close proximity to any of the stands, am sure he wont be phased by it and its only a one off. Although there is a chap i know whos dog would be most put out if his dad went clay shooting without him !
  15. Have to say am a convert to Cairn terriors ! Iv always been bought up with dobermans at home and shooting friends with boarders, spanials and labs . Met Mrs SS last year and she had not long had Bryn (now 1year old ) and he is fab, not startled buy the gun, not at all yappy only a manly bark and groan he is fab with kids and other dogs and at the moment retreives a 1.5lb canvas dummy. There heritage is as a ratter/ rabbiter in scotland for fushing, very hardy dogs but look better as bryndle rather than the light brown musterdy colour ! Go for a Cairn you wont regrett it ! Inot my second choice would be patterdale .

I like the look of the gamebore blue dimonds but dont have a price on them ! Gamebore whit gold have been good so far !
  19. Cheers webber, am glad someone replyed. I changed in febuary to the beretta. Iv thought about the coatch, but was a little ashamed / embarassed about it having been able to shoot far better previously ! Can anyone tell me what to expect to pay for an hour or twos coaching ? (just the coatching as i have my own gun and carts and would pay for the clays a a normall 50 / 60 sporting shoot)
  20. 14 views and no posts ! If it makes any difference i used to shoot a Miruku and now shoot a beretta ! someone once said that the miruku is a flat shooting gun and that berettas tend to shoot higher !
