  1. 250 come in a box about the same size as a shoe box
  2. Told you so! Have you got a silencer on it? What scope are you using?
  3. When I was best man for my Bro I raided my parents loft for around twenty embarasing old photo's (not too hard as he used to be a new romantic) I made enough copies so there was a set for every table. I then bunged a set on each table in a big brown sealed envelope. When I stood up to start my speach I instructed everyone to open the envelopes - everyone was in hysterics for five mins! I made quite a short speach after with a couple of light hearted digs at my brother - job done I got lots of people after saying how much they enjoyed it As has been said above, learn it and don't get ****** before hand! Oh, and Good Luck!
  4. Bottled air is dry so you won't get moisture inside your air resovoir. I think the decent pumps have a filter in them to prevent moisture too.
  5. Diving shops and most decent gun shops will be able to fill the bottle for you. How often it needs filling depends on how much you shoot and what size bottle you buy. My bottle is a 12ltr 300 BAR - big and heavy, but it only needs filling twice a year. I do know people who use pumps, and are happy with them - maybe I'm just lazy! I easily get 60 consistant shots from my .177 S410 Carbine - plenty for a hunting trip. If I was going to need more shots than that I would either get a gun with a large shot count - Rapid 7 or BSA Superten, or just use a decent springer.
  6. I don't think this really makes sense. If the pellets are ricocheting onto the highway, then they are leaving your property - which is an offence anyway
  7. You'll love it - I've shot air rifles for most of my life, but it was my S410 that really made me understand the term "pellet on pellet" Awesome bit of kit
  8. I've never used one, but they've sure got a good reputation. I think they were just about the best you could get in their day. I doubt the old ones will be cheap, probably collectors items now.
  9. Is this the theft from BTAS?
  10. I agree, pumps are a pain. Get a bottle, you'll not regrett it.
  11. I generally agree that silencers on springers are a bit of a waste of time. I have however got a Logun silencer that screws onto the end of my BSA Goldstar and it makes an impressive difference. It is big though, and the Goldstar is huge with on!
  12. My first is a Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon 3, only had it about six weeks though!
  13. I quite fancy having a go with one of these, I take it they are Section 1 FAC?
  14. Wow, thats a hell of a collection! And my Wife complained my cabinet was too big!
  15. I think I'll be going

I'm pretty sure ASI are Spanish - part of Gamo I belive. The one I have actually belongs to a mate of mine, for reasons I forget it now seems to live at my house! "Mine" came second-hand from a farmer, and has clearly led a hard life. That said though it still shoots fine and looks like it is one of those guns that will go on forever. I'm not sure when they were manufactured, or how much they were at the time. I would guess it would have been aimed as a slightly cheaper alternative to BSA's Supersport.
  17. I too have just started clay shooting, I've switched from the clubs cartriges to Hull Comp X - they are cheaper and leave a lot less crud in my barrels

Yeah, I've got one. Not a bad rifle - certainly for £30! Should be around the 10ft/lb mark.
  19. It doesn't look as glossy as that in the flesh, I guess its the flash from the camera that makes it look glossy. The woodwork is a bit of a lottery, I hadn't gone to buy when I saw mine (hadn't even got my licence through) It was so nice, and fitted me so well I bought it on the spot. Had to leave it at the shop till my paperwork came through :yp:
  20. Yes mine is the oiled finish, nice bit of wood too. Give me a moment I'll try to rustle up a couple of pics :yp:
  21. Carefull what you use as a backstop, wood can send the pellet straight back at you! :yp: Old carpet works well at deadening the noise
  22. I've not used the Miroku, but I've just started clay shooting and I've bought the Beretta. I too am 6'2 and I'm a largish build. The gun is a Silver Pigeon 3 with 28" barrels and I'm getting on very well with it. The fit and feel are perfect. I guess you won't know for sure untill you handle one, but I love mine if that helps!
  23. The Bisleys are a really well made pellet, and being heavy give plenty of whack if your hunting with .177. Personly I prefer the lighter pellets for their flatter trajectory - Mozzie Express are amazing in my .177 S410 carbine, only dropping half an inch at 50 yards Pellet choice for me comes down to what I'm using it for (target or pest control) and what I've found groups best in the gun I'm using. This probably explains why I've more than 50 tins of pellets in my shooting cupboard! :yp:
  24. http://www.pellpax.co.uk/acatalog/Pellpax_SAmple_Packs.html Springers generally perform best with lighter pellets. AA Field, Mozzie express and JSB's are all very good pellets - but as has been said all barrels are different and you need to shoot some groups to see which work best in your gun. Round heads are most stable in flight, and give the greatest penetration at anything greater than point-blank range.
