  1. What planet are you from, how is that even a question? We deal with people in different areas, medical, substance abuse, mental health, youth work, migration. It is not a single queue!
  2. OK, let's call you and 12 to order. Have either of you freely spent your time with young people from this country who are struggling with a variety of issues? People with substances abuse issues? Debt? Issues around IT poverty? Do either of you work with people who have recently left jail and are desperately trying not to end up back there? Mental ill health? Pretty sure noobie? 12?

    Log burner

I wouldn't go down the 2nd hand route. Arada ecoburn here as we are in a smoke control area and I echo LB"s comment about Chinese logburners at the moment but I am sure in a few years they will be on the ball.
  4. Does it? So that's a no then.
  5. OK, how much? And how do you know whether or not they entered irregularly?
  6. My ABU 464, not too expensive but would have been fun to team it up with my 60's 6000C ambassador again.
  7. 👍🏻 Two of my friends have oak leaves instead of rosettes, well deserved too.
  8. Of both sorts, never met one that I am aware of but plenty get haunted and hauled over the coals on Facebook.
  9. A lovely thing from something not so lovely.
  10. 👍🏻 I was going to say that it should be the senior service first but...
  11. Polished now and again, last time with mine was early May before our reunion. A cut down 4.5" shell... Not my photo, but you wouldn't want to be on the receiving end. I cut several down on the lathe onboard I had thought about inscribing it but haven't yet, 40 years flies by!
  12. Absolutely. I hoped to be marching past the cenotaph with the rest of the guys but it fell through. Medals polished and ready for tomorrow, but locally and then to the pub.

    WRWC 2022

Such a shame to have to go down to 14, but true grit!
  14. My cousin's husband has been working with universities and colleges, he was in charge of a University in Iraq, was educated by Newcastle University and they arrived here with just clothes and money after Iraq fell via Syria and Jordan. I know for a fact none of the family have delivered pizzas apart from the ones they bought and took home.
  15. We've already done this. It isn't that 1 in 10 have just arrived here in the past few years, it's been going on for over 60 years. Let's look at our demographics, 8.3M in England way back in 1801 and by 1901 30.5M, some of which is Irish migrants dodging the famine, but there was also lots of English leaving for greener pastures. Then WW1 tipped the scales by removing lots of men from the equation and then Spanish flu! Now there are 56M of us in England but have a look back at the 19th C more than triple the amount of people, and the next 120 years and we don't even double the population! There are so many variables when it comes to demographics to point the finger at migrants as being responsible for the present population is ridiculous.
  16. OK, so we need to clear up a few things; 1 - Who are "our political elite"? 2 - If the OBR are there to provide independent fiscal forecasts and advice to the government are you saying that they are not independent?
  17. One of the big things that Brexit supporters were saying was "I don't care, we just have to leave." That is something to be angry about. With covid we can only be angry about the way it was handled we can't be angry with a virus. The common factor between the two is the Tories.
  18. So you dont really know, thanks for contributing.
  19. @old'un "The reason there's no ambulances/drivers is because they cannot leave a patient until the hospital signs them in, sometimes that can be hours." This doesn't add up if you believe that Just watching the TV shows us the A&E depts are full, the wards are full and surprisingly the ambulances can't just chuck the patient on the floor in the waiting room. My friend is a paramedic and she is stressed to the max and is close to quitting because of this. It isn't due to incompetence, though there is some fault with the directors etc, but lack of funding. Even Boris told us it was underfunded.
  20. Because of all the old backsides that need wiping, taxes to pay all those state pensions, an NHS that keeps all those old people alive, bus passes, etc but basically to keep the merry-go-round spinning and not crashing down.
  21. It took around 52 years (68-2020) to increase the UK by 10 million, but looking back it took from 1925 to 68 to get a 10 million increase and there were 450K uk deaths during WW2 so they could be said to be quite comparative. Even more startling is the rise from 1801 (10.5M) to now!
