Like burpster said i tend to get groupings over just over 1" at 50 yards with mine so sounds likeyours aint to out the norm. I did recrown the barrel on mine which helped slightly. I to use the winchester subs after using lots of different rounds.Mine didnt like the rws or recycling them either altho when i done all my test it was prob 5 yrs ago so prob ammo has changed a bit since then.Eley would sometimes go fully auto!! and the cci where very inconsistent going well beyond subsonic speeds and sounding at times.

From what i can see of it its a grade 1 m8.

Oh and i will point out you will need to "straighten/flatten" the rear end of you stock as its curved not flat to fit it properly. I do quite a few pads so ive got a bench sander i use but you could take your time and cut it straight with a hacksaw or very fine wood saw and then finish it using sandpaper stuck to a flat surface and moving the stock back and forth over it so its 100% flat.

Just fitted the 301-10-l-b to my 525 sporter yesterday! Mine doesnt have the chamfered top (201 series) but is a sporting pad so is pretty flat where it goes into the shoulder.I would reccommend this pad for sporting shooting. Its not overly thick about 3/4" but i had a thicker one on one of my cynergy and it felt a bit "squishy! in the shoulder when i shot. The 400 series is more for trap shooting having a more concaved shape to fit in the shoulder. This isnt the best for sporting/game as it would hamper aquick gun mount. So basically the first ie 201 denotes shape of pad Second ie 10 i believe would be thickness L or M denotes large pad or medium pad.L is fine for a 525 as its a grind to fit anyway.

Well looks like i need to go and buy more cartridges yet again Since january ive shot 7000 12 bore carts already not including the missus's 20 bore or rifle ammo... Just glad i dont buy anything to special and expensive when it comes to buying them!

Express English Sporter Fibre
wisecobandit replied to White Rabbit's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Yeah had the same down here. They started off in clear cases and now gone red. They are dirty and leave quite big lumps of residue.I was gonna say about the smoke but Chris already mentioned it!They dont even smell like the normally vectan powder altho express reckon it is!! I found they hit ok and didnt have any problems on that front - unlike the d&j's and rio's i dont rate. -
I beg to differ on the "use a trap gun" statement tbh.Try shooting the low flatter birds with a trap gun you'll shoot over the top of them. I used to shoot it with my trap gun but achieve better scores with my sporter.I just use my trap gun for DTL now. Like Dave said dont panick and rush birds.Let them leave the trap and see where and what direction they are going in before you move the gun to them and pull the trigger as you swing past them.Use the same gun hold position as DTL. The main reason from what i see ppl miss is they move the gun before they know what way the clays going and end up swinging the gun in the wrong direction then having to change it. This may sound daft but i dont even watch my mates shoot there birds! After my shot i just empty the cartridge/s and look down at my broken gun and twiddle with my fresh cartridges and align the writing on them neatly whilst they are in the chamber.I just wait for the voice of the team member before me to shout pull, wait for his shot then close my gun ready to shoot again! I quite lucky as i shoot with pretty much the same squad and we all know how each other work etc and know who's shooting by voice of "pull" Not saying it will work for you but it works for me.I tend to average around 85 ex 100

WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM SEMIAUTO USERS (particularly SX3)
wisecobandit replied to dogfish's topic in Guns & Equipment
I shoot with a browning 525 and an sx2 I had a browning gold before aswell for a while and found the sx2 had better stock dimensions for me than the sx3 (sx3 shorter stock) If you shot ok with the browning gold then i would say get an sx2 over an sx3 tbh. The sx2 has similar stock figures to the 525 altho i did put a cheek eze pad on it as the comb is about 5mm lower. As for recoil i find it pretty non existant on the sx2. -
The wood version sre made from turkish walnut.Quite a plain grain etc tho for what we know as walnut. They arent coated plastic or anything just all wood.
-
I know "The Sportsman" here in Exeter have got sx3's on the shelf. Not sure if they have any fac versions tho? Definetly worth a ring tho as they would probably transfer 1 to ur nearest RFD as they deal with most of them?

Im 6 ft 5 and shoot a 30" o/u for game and sporting clays but use a 28" semi auto for wildfowling. They feel a similar length having 2" shorter barrels on the auto to 30" on my o/u's My missus's auto escort has 26" barrels (she's just started learning) which is fun playing with skeet etc but i think having 26"barrels you may regret it if you where shooting sporting etc. I think you would be happiest with 28" as its a good general all round length.

They arent over here without an fac either. Because they only screw on the end of your magazine tube tho and the magazine tube would/should be restricted to 3 (unless fac) they can be sold to basically anyone and no sg/fac needs to be shown etc. Its not just a case of screwing it on and you having extra firepower, your gun would need your existing magazine tube unrestricted to allow full use in which case you would have a 5 shot and an fac anyway if that makes sense?

Just order one from midway guns uk mate? They should post it to you ok. As far as im aware if you buy a 3 shot version and have it modified to shoot more then it would need to be reproofed? This was what i was told by the importers of the winchester sx3 BWM arms last friday when i enquired. Its best to get an fac from the start and cheaper.

Looks like a cleanish cut and not ripped down the neck etc. My guess is some stalker has cut off and ditched the head and some fox or something has been and dragged it out in the open and the crows and magpies have pecked the eyes out etc.
-
Dont think so altho they did do a few 525' in the e36 shape estates in 4x4
-
Had the opposite problems with them.. Paid for an item via paypal (£140) from ebay which was in germany.I never recieved it so put in a paypal claim.I got nowhere as the seller gave them a consignment number which wasnt even for my address or even in my county! Never got any money back..
-
Pic of my 4x4 May not be to special to look at but it suprised many a person off road especially with bigger wheels and lift kit.Ideal for shooting bunnies at night to as the entire rear roof unclips so 1 massive sunroof.. Only the boot space lets it down

One of my shooting mates had his mentor taken off after about 9 months with the d+c police.Just had the mentor write a letter saying he was competent etc.

Eley Olympics/Olympic Trap
wisecobandit replied to GStrider's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
I like OT's altho it depends on the shooting ground as they are plastic wad so you cant shoot them everywhere.Never had a problem with them and cant say ive noticed any difference with them recently. -
LOL yup its a small world. Yeah i tend to go wildfowling/duck shooting on the saturday mornings else no doubt i would be in the syndicate to..We all love the shooting. Hopefully see you saturday.Prob become more of a regular if the sporting stands are good.Dont tend to shoot the DTL to much as i find it makes me a lazy shot and my sporting suffers with it after.
-
Cool well me brother (Neil) and Dad both shoot in his pheasant syndicate so the world is small lol and i dare say we have seen 1 another around.Neil shoots Crediton gun club. Derek comes out on our small fun shoot days after pheasants etc which is how i know him more.

To late for foxes mating thats normally december time altho it sounds a similar sound to whats described. Maybe foxes fighting as vixens will have young cubs around and maybe another fox has invaded a vixens territory.I would think a few weeks to early but it maybe a vixen calling her young back from venturing to far from the den.
-
Shot there for the first time sat before last but my brother shoots there mainly + I know Derek.C. the president etc. You a regular there then mate?
