  1. In theory a very good idea BUT rage against the machine is also on Simon Cowells label so either way hes pocketing more cash!! Whoever started it didnt do there homework very well.
  2. Ive answered your other post in the wanted section. Ive normally got things in the freezer or nearer the time i will have "fresh" around. I bag the odd goose to but until it gets colder they are taking a different flightline not over my land.
  3. Meant to be quite big.Im going sunday. £8 to get in tho.
  4. Most gunshops shopld have something in store that will screw in even if its not exactly the same. You canm get universal screw in sights which come in a pack. If all else fails have a look here and give them a ring. http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?page=2
  5. They dont get called halfrauds for nothing. I only use them in emergencys when all else fails.Cant say ive ever felt ive had a bargain from them.
  6. So is it the 8500 like Daves or the 6500? Dont get to tied up in the choke syndrome. Its easy to blame them when you dont shoot straight. Like Julian says you can get a teague conversion done but its not cheap (around £250) but tbh ive heard of more than 1 blowing the chokes out and it also has happened to 1 crediton gun club member on his miroku mk38 last year.. Other option is to bore out the chokes to say 1/2 and 1/2 whuch will cover you both for the sporting and DTL which cost around £45 a barrel but it may devalue the gun by £100.
  7. Cough cough novice and Julian in the same sentence??? lol Next ones DTL but on the list its also double rise so that will probably be the challenge and i hate double rise Mind you been shooting DTL better with the caesar so may get on better with the double rise. Ashcombes a bit of fun especially on the compact sporting. You can shoot lots in a short while tho so beware,
  8. Had a look at 1 (fac version to) in The sportsman last week. Good for shorter ppl i would think but very short in the stock for me but then im 6ft 5.
  9. I was using these recently to and then started suffering problems with non ejection on the semi auto.I think theyve changed the powder in the plas wad versions to bring the price down inline with the express sporter carts. I wont buy them again for a long time thats for sure.
  10. Eley first tend to be dirty as do the express english sporters. Ive used alsort in my 525 tbh and the main thing is use the cartridge you have trust in. Use a cartridge you dont believe in and you wont shoot so well!! For me i absolutly detest the rio's.....
  11. You can buy them for around £10-£20 i use a brinsea one thats very good. Do a search on the chicken forums for diy candlers.Just be careful not to hold the egg on them for to long as you can kill the embyo by overheating.
  12. Car valve grinding paste m8
  13. Its whatever you feel comfortable with at the end of the day.. I shoot 28" 30" and 32" cos im greedy lol. At the end of the day you will shoot best with a gun that feels comfortable to you regardless of barrel length. I shoot 28" in the field and skeet mainly the 30" and 32" for sporting/trap depending on venue etc.
  14. Yup thats the one. Ive done it that way before with an old mauser .22 b/a i had and it def worked.
  15. So whats the crack mate?Did you find them dumped or something? Looks a bit like a watervole but initial instict was the guniea pig/hamster route..
  16. As far as the manual says im sure its only the wooden stocks that use the o ring not on the synthetic?I maybe wrong tho..
  17. Sounding more like ammo imo. Theres a good vid on utube on recrowning a winchester .22 rifle barrel with a brass screw and use valve grinding paste
  18. Cant say ive ever used that ammo or how consistent it could or couldnt be U havent had the stock off the rifle have you?Ive heard the screw underneath the gun holding the stock on can dethread/strip threads if overtightened quite easily which would cause inconsistent poi. I would put money on it not being an actual prob with the gun as such more like somethng along scope/ammo/action fitment to stock if that makes sense. Soz i will reread the thread but is the poi the same place in relation to the laser sight and the scope or does it differ?
  19. http://www.pekinbantams.com/poultrywatersupplements.php Thats some info on apple cider vinegar. We just buy it at sainsburys about 79p a bottle.1 tablespoon to a ltr of water or there abouts. I do it with all the chickens pheasants and duck i hatch. Its much cheaper than buying the wormer.Everynow and again i do put some flubenvit or whatever its called once in a while but only cos i have it here, once its gone i won bother.
  20. In the tank? Is it some kind of home made incubator or something IE i take it you have temp control etc? As for adding water for humidity maybe a little at the start but then leave it dry until you stop turning the eggs 3-4 days before they are due to hatch. I have no problem candling eggs and can tell if they are fertile within 5 days of setting normally?Have you got a decent candler?
  21. I assume you have checked the scope mounts and moderator if fitted isnt loose and all seating ok?
  22. We add cider vinegar to the water to prevent worms in the intestines etc not for being eggbound. Worms could cause it to bloat to some degree tho.
  23. Got mine set around 2 1/2ib on my 70. Good luck next time mate, dont let the excitement get to you lol
  24. Do a search for mareks disease and check out if the symptoms are similar mate. I will ask the other half 2moz but shes asleep now.Shes the chicken buff in this houshold...
  25. Got a mod on my .22 As for the .243 ive never bothered.I use it for foxes and it doubles up for deer when needs arise. The foxes dont seem to worry or be so jumpy about the noise of a c/f like they do a 12bore for some weird reason?? However if shooting near to ppl or housing i could see why some go for mods due to noise pollution etc. They do work but only take out 10-20 db in sound. That said your talking of something more than 3-4 times the sound barrier so theres nothing thats going to make it very quiet.Im not saying i wouldnt have one tho.
