  1. With a springer mate you need to shoot off a bean bag or simular so it can soak up the recoil or you poa will be all over the place. Cheers Terry
  2. Hi mate, I have been faced with the same predicument and have ended up with the versa-pod 9-12 http://www.midwayuk.com/apps/eproductpage....leItemID=555514 not the cheapest but buy once is my view, I like the way you can detatch the pod via the swivel leaving the mount in place ready to just snap on the pod back on when required, cheers Terry
  3. Hey up mate, I bought a camo rifle sock cut and carved and it does a great job and its easy to take off to clean your rifle. Just a little imagination and away you go. Cheers Terry
  4. Hi mate, I have had very good results with HW Magnums, Bisley Magnums, but the best for me are Logun Penetrators. Slightly lighter at 9.6 grains but still pack a punch at the quarry end of things and the groups at 40+ yds are slightly better and not so much drop. Only draw back £9 for 450 but as with all things good in life it cost. Happy hunting Terry
  5. Hi mate, I have HW100K with a cs700 customstock lefty and a AGS 3-12x44 mildot scope. I use both Bisley and HW magnum pellets with fantastic results totally dependable silky smooth and definitely a keeper as its one air rifle that does all I want to do. Having said that the only time I shoot targets is to check zero. Suits you sir, get it bought. Cheers Terry
  6. I like to get them gutted asap and skin them the day after. As Quist states if the gasses get busy you can spoil you days efforts all too easy. Cheers Terry
  7. Hi boy's, I have very good results with both Bisley and HW Magnums clean kills. from HW100KT .177. Cheers Terry
  8. Hi daz2202, I have some bunnies that when head shot just fall over dead as a do do, but then twitch quite alot. IMO they are quite dead but the shock sends involuntary nerve signals to the limbs. I think if it were not dead you would have a runner on your hands. Regards Terry
  9. Oh boy oh boy, choices who said its best to have a choice. Just cant make a decision Im down to a Disco (supposedly can be unreliable but would do the job size wise) Terrano Commercial (would do the job just size wise but god there ugly) and Toyota Hilux with top ( definatly do the job but expensive) The van I have at the mo is super reliable fairly economical 35-40 MPG depending on my mood and spacious but as its not designed to work off road so is ****e. Have just put Tax 2 new tyres and front brake pads on it so will use it for another few months while trying to make a decision. Thanks for all you input Cunfused
  10. Hey Up Jase, Hows that gas guzzler you bought the other week, not bad consumption that twice round the block on a bath full of petrol. lol Tip of the day "Dont stray too far away from the LPG pump" Glad to see ya on here mate top bloke. Cheers Terry
  11. Hi mark12345, spaniel is going down the right line, remove the delivery section of the retrieve excersise and train it totally seperate. Just sit the dog in front as if it had just returned from a retrieve, give it your hold command and deliver the retrieve item for the dog to hold, when the dog takes hold and shows the desired behaviour ie nice calm hold before it as the chance to spit or drop the item give the leave command, deliver praise and reward. Do this in short but often stints untill the dog understands that you require it to hold untill given the leave command and then just lengthen the time the dog is left holding the dummy. But watch carefully as to not let too much time elapse at the beginnig as it dprops the dummy this will be negative training also short successful sessions as not to put too much pressure on the young dog. Do not move on to the lengthening part too quick you need the dogs understanding of what you want to be set concrete. Cheers Terry
  12. Cheers lads for the replies, I am fortunate that I dont have to use the vehicle I have for (best) so to speak as the wife as a nice car. I use a dog with my job so a cage in the back is a must. I have seen two TD5's both 2001 reg one a es spec very nice the other is a persuit not as well equiped but nice all the same both have under 60,000 mls £5999. Whats the newest 300 TDI available. Cheers Terry
  13. I would really like to change my mint 56 plate Fiat 2.0 Scudo JTD SX Dynamic for a Discovery but dont know which model would be the most reliable ie 300tdi or TD5, and why. I also cant afford to put any money to the deal so what would be a realistic aim. Cheers boys
  14. Draw an imaginary line from the eye to the base of the ear, then aim for the middle on this line and they wont know whats hit them. If it is head on straight between the eyes, if its got its back to you, firstly thats ignorant and secondly silly, where the ears join the head imaginary line from one to another and aim for the hey diddle diddle. Then warm up the pot and enjoy! Chrispti as the perfect picture on his siggy
