A person who comes to this country illegally, knowingly and being fully aware of the implications of their actions shouldn't be able to claim legal rights when they get here You misuse the word democracy. Democracy is about the will of the majority prevailing, to which the minority must comply

The problem now is that Europe is heading for a massive recession this winter and it could bring about the collapse of the Euro. How long before France and Germany lose the stomach for sanctions against Russia and its oil and gas? Taking a more pragmatic view ? Oh well its only Ukraine, who really cares? Then sucking up to Putin because they need to? Secondly, although we are not in the EU anymore and never have been in the Euro (thank God). We are not going to be unaffected by what happens on the other side of the Channel.

Trump was Putin's lap dog. Putin has so much dirt on Trump

The real problem is world population growth but nobody wants to talk about that because they don't have an answer

The EURO is on a very dangerous path. it could well be terminal. Only time will tell but every day we must all get on our knees and give thanks that we never joined Tony Blair wanted to join, Gordon Brown blocked it, Now i never thought I would give a big thumbs up to Gordon Brown but thank you thank you thank you even though you only did it to stuff Tony Baloney it was right, ten years on

I would be very reluctant to make big changes but small changes gradually, with evaluation is the way to proceed. Oh and always keep notes. good luck -
When I worked for the British Transport Commission back in the early 70s there were plans to run water pipes from the north of England down to the south using the existing canal network. Basically, the pipe would go under the towpath. Similar plans involved running pipes along the side of existing main line railway tracks. So they knew back then something needed to be done. I believe the plan was scrapped by the Wilson Government when they got in to power in 1974 two years later the reservoirs run dry when we had the long hot summer of 76

This morning I watched a neighbour watering the verge outside his house with a hose. I mean, just saying, not illegal here at the moment

Boris will be back

There are lots of reasons why people are giving up. Not being able to find anywhere to shoot is definitely a big one as mentioned before It's been going on for a long time just wearing people down with all the hassle makes it not fun anymore Age is also another reason. It's becoming an old man's pastime. No new blood. 8% reduction in certificates but I bet the number of guns held has reduced even more. I have reduced the number I hold and would be reducing even more if I thought I could get a sensible price for them. Out of principle I am not giving them away. One of the clubs I belong to has lost over 100 members in the past few years.. A committee member told me that and they are afraid to put up the membership fees for fear of losing more members, even though they need to. Even those that are still members the attendances are way down. Many that were regulars are once in a blue moon now. The social aspect of the club is much diminished. Plus people are complaining about can't get powder and primers and if they can they are moaning about the price. It's not the thin end of one wedge it's the thin end of lots of wedges

Could it be possible that this has happened because Boris is on the way out and the bookies favourite to replace him is known to have been a remainer? Or is it just macron being macron as usual? He has said all along that Britain must be punished

No its because the French do all their checks at Dover before you get on the ferry That way when you get on the boat you have already been cleared and you can drive off the other side and just go
-
Even before brexit and covid I had issues with holidays in France, Spain and Italy concerning overcharging of tourists Now some of the stories are just unbelievable
-
The French have only opened six of the normal twelve passport check boothes. And the French are doing what the Dover authorities are describing as 100% checks on every passenger. In other words a go slow
-
It appears that the French are causing chaos at Dover by deliberately slowing down to a snails pace all the passport and customs checks. People are having to queue for hours just to get on their ferries It's obvious what they are doing and why they are doing it. It's all so petty minded. It's targeted because this is the busiest week of the summer after the schools broke up this week

Unlike you probably, I talk to at least one Cornish fisherman fairly regularly. No they are not happy at all but it's hardly Boris's fault that French and Spanish trawlers are still fishing illegally in British waters. As they did before Brexit

Yes could have been an icon if one LSD trip hadn't fried his brain. Really sad and a tragic loss
-
I agree completely, he has achieved so much with Brexit and the pandemic Not always perfect but better than the dogs snapping at his feet

Nobody has mentioned Gary Moore which is strange? Hugely talented blues guitarist if not really on the radar unless you are in the know
