    Myxamatosis

Yeah to think that these diseases have been introduced by man really stinks.....and despite what the antis might say......we like bunnies.....particularly in pies I hope its not all doom and gloom for shooting in Australia, as we are now set on getting there (providing me or the missus doesn't fail a medical). The plus side is that land is dirt cheap over there with 50 acres with house going for about £200k. I'll have to look into this and report back to the forum
  3. H, Did it burn down 'cos you were too busy on here? Probably stuartp, i'm on here almost as much as you lol I really ought to get some work done!!!

    Dieselling

hee hee, just as well I don't have a cigarette lighter then, whooofff, no eyebrows!! thanks lads for all your help,
  6. My opinion, so take it or leave it. with a 12 ft/lbs rifle the .25 pellet will drop like a brick over any distance greater than 20 metres. .25 only really comes into its own when using FAC rated air rifles, and of course you will need an FAC to get one. bindi
  7. Agree with axe, practice on paper to get this right. If you zero at 20yds with a 12ft ibs .177 rifle then the zero will be the same at 10yds and 30yds, give or take a few millimeters. If they are closer than 10 yds, you might as well just lob a brick at them because they'll have clocked you and flown away by the time you have a pellet in the barrel, bindi

    sling

Ok, assuming that you have a wooden stock, first you need to get the sling swivels. i would recommend uncle mikes q/d (quick detatch) swivels. You'll need to drill a 3mm wide hole in the stock butt where you would like your swivel to be (about 3inches form the butut plate). Now if you have a PCP compressed air gun you'll need tp repeat the process in the forestock, again about 3 inches form the end of the stock BUT if you have a PCP do all this with the stock removed form the action, to prevent you accidentally drilling into the cylinder (otherwise your face will end up a real mess). If your rifle is a break barrel springer tyhen you need a barrell mount swivel which will be a little sleeve that fits round the barel with a swivel underneath it. Best to look at a few pics of guns in the mags to see how people have theirs. If you don;t want to drill then you might be able to get away with a shotgun sling, which slides over the butt and barrel.....but this might not work on a break barrel springer, hope this helps, bindi

    mice!!!!

for mice you are better sticking to mouse traps, thry like chocolate. Alternatively mouse/rat poison got my garage clear, but you have to make sure its out of the way of pet cats/dogs (obvious stuff but people have forgotten this in the past) The latter is my preferred as the little blighters are crafty when it comes to the little nipper mousetraps. bindi
  10. Rob, sent you PM back, are you still interested? Go on Lord Georgie, you know you want it!!!!
  11. Yeah, I think I'd be interested in this too, so let us know what the crack is. I'd even be interested in the beating/picking up, cheers bindi
  12. Myxamatosis, is this still a problem? I thought it had grown itself out, but I am still hearing of it, Can anyone let me know, it must be dodgy to eat myxy rabbits?? thanks bindi
  13. Sounds great, but lets make it boat fishing, I suggest Whitby as a location for the cod, some good wrecking going there bindi
  14. Your probably right, but I was just about to buy an EELL Beretta with a view to taking that with me. I'll do a bit of searching to see how much they are over there (much european stuff over there is quite pricey). But it looks like three very nice shotties will be coming up for sale soon (the 686E is already) regards Mark

  21. We are currently in the process of migrating to Australia and wondered if anyone knew how easy or difficult it would be to take our shotguns with us. I figure that i would have to have my SGC transferred to into Aussie paperwork, but might have to have the shotties sent over after this has been done (resident and shottie cabinets etc) anyone know?? thanks bindi
