  1. Wow. Still, it's worth it for such a cool goose. I'm trying to persuade my folks that they want a waterfowl collection on their farm; I doubt my 10'x6' yard would sustain any fowl at all, let alone exotic ones. ;-)
  2. Wow. She really looks like she's smiling in the first pic! Bet she's proud of her work ;-)
  3. I've just been told that my usual pigeon man has stopped shooting for the year, so I can't get any more lovely woodies for my dinner. So, if anyone near me has surplus birds at any time, give me an email and I'll swap you some cans or whatever for them. :)
  4. I've just been to my butcher, and he tells me that his brother, (who usually supplies all my pigeon needs!) has packed up for the year. Apparently this is the end of his season. Are many of you guys stopping? I'm not sure what I'll do without pigeons... :'-(
  5. Wow! That's pretty cool. I never realized you could buy wildfowl like that... I may have to get some red-breasted geese for my garden! Were your mandarins tasty?
  6. Yeah, it must be a lot of trouble & expense to keep them all happy. Where do you get them? I take it you're not allowed to trap wild birds?
  7. Those are some pretty birdies! I think I've seen some of them on the wildfowling forum, correct? You've got an emperor goose? I'm jealous! Canada/greylag eh? Some kind of super-shouty goose. Greylags and canadas seem to be the most aggressive geese. I bet a cross is even more so. I'll have to try and start a fight with it... ;-P
  8. OR: funny you should say that. When I was working as a chef, I did almost lose the tip of a finger. Fortunately the NHS sorted me out :-) Wanderer: ARG!@!$!@$!%!@ Busted!!! Now I'll have to crawl back into my squat :-(
  9. Marvelous. I'll get cracking on one straight away! I love making things :-)
  10. Hehehe. Must be my love of fowl coming out in the pics! Here's where they all live: http://jim.fears.d0s.info/~jim/pics/ Just don't cane my bandwidth too much! ;-)
  11. A cannon powershot A400; the pictures are scaled down to 640x480 from 2048x1536. I don't know squat about cameras - it was a christmas pressie that I've just worked out how to use!
  12. HAHAHAHAHAH Stephen Fry: "Hi. I'm stephen. This is my aromatherapist, Ewan MacGregor; my cranial osteopath, Sir Ian McKellan; and my bodyguard, Liza Tarbuck" AHAHAHA.
  13. Has anyone been listening to the spoof archers episodes? They're ******* hilarious. Listen now! Radio 4!
  14. Me: Yes, my keks fell down. I didn't want to wash my hands just to pull them up, so I left it 'till I'd finished. Only problem was the candid camera crew!
  15. I just went for a walk, and found some really cool new ducks about. First up, a gadwall: Next, a drake wigeon: And (i think) a whitefront: To see all the fowl we have year round, check out my thread in the wildfowling forum. We've got some crazy birds!
  16. Mmmmm electronics. The fun. The horror. This sort of ****e almost put paid to my three year holiday (Uni ;-), but I mastered it in the end. The trick is not to let it know you're afraid!
  17. w00 w00. That sounds just right. I'll bell them as soon as I get paid... ;-) I can't beleive how much we've lost in this country; I've just spent the afternoon walking round York asking all over for hemp twine, and got a load of blank looks from young guys, and wistful talk about the old days from the others. They used to sell all kinds, but nowdays even the manufacturers only make pissy garden twine. It's all man-made ******** taking over >:-|.
  18. That sounds good. I bet he can get in pretty cheaply compared to the shops! With any luck I'll be going to the Selby game fair, but I can't be sure; I'm going to the theatre with my bird's parents on that Saturday, so I'll have to rush back from their house (oh dear!). If I can't make it, I'll just bell the bloke up and see. By the way, were your nets made from hemp or man-made fibres?
  19. Where do all you net makers get your twine from? I've been using the best stuff I can find in my local hardware shop, and I thought it would be a good idea to check if there's anything better before I buy sh!tloads of it for longnets.. :-) So, any sources? Online or through a real shop? Any idea what the breaknig strain should be?
  20. Fishing you say? :-D I'm a keen but useless fisherman. I'm sure there are more deserving cases on here, but here I am. :-) If you've got computer problems, we could trade... ;-P
  21. personally, I prefer cockers. And you ought to get them a run or something!
  22. Nope. They don't even kill them instantly with a rifle! It takes about four shots, and that's after they've run the ****er up a tree with dogs. I saw a pic of a yank with 31 dead snow geese, arranged on the floor to spell "31". :-O
  23. True, I can't say for certain. But, do you really think that the average human is inherently so idiotic that he can't decide not to take smack? Do *you* only refrain from taking drugs because of the law? Of course not. You can decide for yourself. The only tangible effect drug laws have on drrug use, is to force otherwise respectable people to enter into the criminal underworld (dah dah DAH!) in order to get their chose relaxant. This means that nice boys who want a bit of draw get drawn into a culture where stealing cars and sniffing glue is normal. A good thing? Anyway, that's what I think.
  24. I went to a rave in MK once. Beleive it or not, it was near a roundabout... ;-)
