  1. The first pic is a few hours i ahd out decoying and got 15 pigeons but had my shooting been on form could have been 20-30 The rabbits were both got in the garden whilst having a go on the flower beds George
  2. There are a pair of what i assume are breeding Buzzards in one of the woods on our land, we can often see them circlueling from the knitchen table and its lovely to watch however, they do often seem to be being bomb dived and mobbed by the crows quite often also a couple of weeks ago i was out decoying using dead birds for decoys when a hawk flew in and stated trying to eat one of the birds i had to get up to scare it of and the same thing happened we i set out next to the woods but, that time it took a bird with it George
  3. To be honest he told is that he does not normally stalk until mid to late april but that was the only time we could do and as it was in season i think he thought he would get the business he could with the economy as it is. Anyway im happy with my buck and had great fun anyway and hope to go back for a nice six pointer in the not to distant future and my dad has mentioned Red stags are a potential for summer :P :( George
  4. 8 from 6 stalks, and very nice heads at that, i was in the fife area in early april and was stalking with vernon waters and went out on 3 stalks and got the 1 roe (my first and i was dead chuffed) and that was only a 2 pointer. What is the best time of year to go for roe then? as when i was out many were still in velvet. George
  5. My house master at school signed my SGC and i got it fine. George
  6. Me and my brother who share carts (but i am out more as he is at uni) have got through maybe 3000-3500 so far this year happy days. George
  7. A bag of 16 for 17 shops, i wish i was as good a shot as you would make shooting a lot cheaper hahaha. George
  8. I shoot with a few people who use those magnet sticks for picking up carts and they seem to be pretty good to me, saves a lot of bending over in the grass George
  9. I have only ever seen one white pheasant before and must say it was an ugly looking thing. more like a chicken/turkey than and nice pheasant although i do understand that you are not meant to shoot them. George
  10. Im in a similar position to you, i am 17 on may the 18th and got my SGC a couple of months back now and i would say go far it for sure BUT i have to send the certificate back when i am 17 as it says that i can not buy any shotgun or carts on it (luckily may dad can take care of that for me) and have to return it at 17 so they can remove this clause. Hope this Helps, George
  11. Mine has to either be folding a nice high pheasant or the same on a good pigeon in roost or flight-line shooting. Nothing is better than folding a nice bird and watching it drop like a weight from the sky. George
  12. One of the lucky ones my nearest is pushing 50 meters and furthest around about 2 miles by road and totaling the neck end of 500 acres.
  13. My god that rabbit was blown to **** haha and a nice set up George
  14. Well i could hear them all but if i couldn't at my tender young age i may be worried, my dad and granddad however have both been told at a hearing test that they have the stereotypical shooters hearing which is hugely damages on the opposite ear to the shoulder that they shoot from. George
  15. I have some decoys but rarely use them, i prefer to use dead one and they work very very well for me, i can't help but feel they must be better than decoys. just freeze them or go out roost shooting the night before if you can hope the bottles work mind B) George
  16. Sorry to say i cant help i was going to start a thread in this myself though so shall be interested, i was thinking of going for a friend who is a doctor and my house master a t school can any one tell me if they would be good enough? (sorry for asking this on your thread) B) George

  18. Could you possibly put me in contact with him so i can see what he has and how much they are? Thanks
  19. Let me know what you have got and how much you are after. Regards, George
  20. Okay thanks shall make the changes and as for the land it is near to a small private road but can be anything upto about 1km form the road so i think it will be fine but as for back stops, i may struggle to some extent but shall think about it with a certain amount of creativity George
  21. Okay well have filled out the for now well my part anyway just need the referees to do there bit. i have gone for: .17 hmr 350 hold 200 buy .22lr 250 hold 150 buy .243 100 hold 50 buy Final question we are on a farm that as far as i am aware no one has had the land to use as written permission on there license (could be wrong) although they do have it as informal rights to come foxing and just let us know through the phone. It is open flat land and as it has been in the family for maybe 20-40 years depending on which part i doubt the approved caliber will be set. Does that mean i will have to take the FEO to every field i want shooting rights over to get the approved caliber? the fields are reasonably close (probably 4-5 km by road) but it could still take some time? Thanks George
  22. I never use to think that there was no such thing as over kill......now im having second thoughts George
