  1. I know birds can see in the infra-red spectrum of light which we all immit with heat.
  2. I didnt realise that there were two models so I wasnt looking out for plastic. I did notice that the bolt was plastic but I'm pretty sure the trigger was metal. What do you mean a barrel clamp at the end of the foregrip? I was just feeling to see if the price was fixed or not. If you dont ask, you dont get! I know there is a 10 shot magazine system available for it and you can retro fit a steel bolt. Are the plastic bits the only difference?
  3. I popped round to the local gun shop to see a second hand .22 Air Arms S200. It comes with an Air Arms moderator and there is not a mark on it. The action is perfect and it looks as if it has never been used. They say for £200 quid they'll give me a years warranty against defects and theyll throw in the adapter to fill it up but it doesnt come with a pump or mounts. For a Bisley pair of mounts will cost me £7.00 but these only have 2 allen screws on each. £11.00 for the ones with four allen screws. I said I could buy a new one for £50 more including postage but they would'nt budge on the price in the least. I suppose it would cost me about £40 additional to that to buy a silencer if I were buying one new. My dad has a compressor for spraying cars and I was wondering if you could use this to charge it up to save me spending £100? its got a pressure gauge on it. Are these good guns? I realise that you get what you pay for but are these accurate? I read a review on these and someone said that the barrel on theirs kept falling off! They dont have a safety catch on them either which is abit daft.
  4. Malasia, Tailand have similar card schemes to the one proposed and China is wanting to implement one as well but because they have a massive population they scrapped the biometric side. They have ID cards in other European Countries but they are only card schemes, there is no database backing them up and in some of these countries there is no need to carry them on you at all times. Australia, Canada and New Zealand are some of the countries that were going to introduce them but the public stopped them from implementing them. If only we were a democratic country like them. How do you think I feel, I'm only 20 and already writing letters to my MP! In Bliars Britain, your parents would get nicked for assault. I am seriously considering immigrating!
  5. We will have no choice but to buy one and go along to the test center to have all our details and biometrics documented. If I had a choice I wouldnt be buying one.
  6. There are a few second hand guns. Air Arms S410 £400 with scope, logun moderator. Another for £695 with scope, silencer, 10 shot mag & pump. Air Arms S400 £240 Air Arms S200 £200 no scope and no pump. mint. Logun Mk2 something £485 Are these good prices? I'm not sure what sort of prices I would be expecting to pay second hand. Obviously depends on condition.
  7. Your asking me, I'm cant see into the future.
  8. There are no real legal limitations to the future scope of the ID card and register and parliament doesnt need to be consulted before making changes to its uses.
  9. This is too darn complicated. The list is down to: Air Arms S400/ S410 - £314-£429 depending on beech or Thole walnut Air Arms S200 - £250+£60 for 10shot mag add on BSA Hornet - £475 multi shot version Thoben Mk1 Rapid - £655 Webley Raider - £239 Daystate harrier x2 - £525 So Ill phone round a few gun shops to see if there are any about second hand in good nick. None of these make good FAC guns do they?
  10. I'm looking for a bike that comes from the factory with a power output of less than 33bhp. It'll have a smaller engine so itll have cheaper insurance, TAX and there will be no need to restrict it. It'll probably have to be a trailie.
  11. You say that they want to introduce an ID card and document everyones details in the country in case anyone turns into a criminal or terrorist. The ID card wont be the magic wand that stops all crime and terrorists. Terrorists if they are British Citizens will be made to purchase an ID card like you and I. If they are foreign they will come into the country using false or even real passports, once they are here they wont need an ID card because they will be here posing as tourists. Nobody knows who is a terrorist including the government, they could be foreign or they could be British, they could be Muslim they could be Christian. The same applies to criminals. You ask why the government shouldnt have every persons details living in Britain and Ill tell you. They dont know what the political situation is going to be 20 years down the line, they have dealt with terrorism on British soil for years without the need for this scheme - I am referring to the troubles in Northern Ireland, the data they store has the great posibility of being mis-used and can be distributed to any government department, they can introduce more details and information to taken to put on the card without commons consultation, there is no emergency facing the country, the possibility of function creep exists and no real purpose has been put forward for the card. I'm fed up of terrorism being some sort of wild card when it comes to introducing new legislation, "we need it to fight terrorism". I think that the Identity Card is going to be to Tony Bliar what the Poll Tax was to Margaret Thatcher. There is a hell of a lot of people out there against it and I think when its introduced thats when we will see the real opposition from the public but by that time itll be too late.
  12. I've recieved a reply from my MP. He says he takes my concerns on board but he feels we must tackle identity in a positive way. Whatever thats supposed to mean.
  13. £45.00 for Road TAX £1800 for bike £200 to have it restricted £800 for Third Party F/T insurance (with DATATAG, locked in garage with a £300 excess) £400 for 13 lessons, pre-test, test, theory test & CBT Grand Total: £3245 Conclusion: Cant afford Bike. If I had known that in the first place; I would not even have bothered, it just cost me £400 to find out.
  14. Just took them from a mag, i thought it was way too expensive.

  16. Logun S16 - £349 Air Arms S400/ S410 - £619 Air Arms S200 - £389 BSA Hornet - £439 Thoben Mk1 Rapid - £819 Theoben Mk2 - £959 Webley Raider - £342 Daystate harrier X - £586 The list is getting longer... I can rule out the S 16.
  17. Yeh, If I were buying one it would be to keep. I'm not interested in fashions, if it works and keeps working then thats good enough for me.
  18. doh, damned magazines. I was looking on the net a while back for a general licence for scotland and couldnt find any information on it at all. So I just assumed it would be along the lines of the one for England.
  19. The argument is that the birds on the general licence are a threat to crops because they have the inherent capacity to destroy them. The General licence has been clarified that you have to be satisfied that other non-lethal methods of control are ineffective or un reasonably practicable. Providing you are complying with the licence you dont have to satisfy anyone else as long as you are satisfied yourself. Fish stocks are in jeapordy and this was through unsustainable over fishing. We have to learn from other people's mistakes so I think either we stop taking huge bags or we have a closed season for "vermin" as well, a compulsory one will no doubt come along. The whole vermin control issue complicates matters.
  20. Thank you for all the quick responses. 1 of 5 there are no clubs near me from them two sites. I would rather get a PCP rifle, I dont see the economic benefit in buying a springer and then a year down the line to get rid of it in favour of a PCP that I could have bought in the first place. Although I take your point on board that it may be marginally beneficial to learn airgunning techniques with a springer first SNAKEBITE. I found a deal in a magazine for a new Logun S16 with silencer, 16 shot mag, filling adapter and a logun case for 349 quid. Is that a decent price for a new one? What is the difference in the two calibers? Thanks!
  21. Hello people! I know nothing what so ever about air-guns and information is hard to come-by regarding all the different types you can get. I could go to my gun shop and ask but their main aim in life is to sell me something so I am asking you kind people for some advice! I was thinking about getting an air-gun that I could use to shoot rabbits. I know there are all different types of air gun with all different prices up to £1000. I was wondering what kind I would be wanting to get, I realise that there are spring, pre-charged, CO2 types, etc. and the ones you need to pump up for every shot - which I used to have and found it a pain in the butt. I realise ultimately it will come down to budget. However, knowing next to nothing about them, I dont know in what price range I will get something decent I don't want to fork out 200 quid and find out that it was maybe a better idea to save up some more for a decent one. There is no chance that I'd spend over 500 quid on an air-gun because I can't see the point unless someone can explain to me what the benefits would be. It would be a non-FAC air gun I would be after and if the potential is there to upgrade it to a FAC later on if I decide to apply for a FAC would be a bonus. I know most come bundled with a scope; I don't need one because I have a Pecar Berlin Champion 6x45 scope sitting waiting. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  22. Its like the pistol ban (and other restrictions) once its banned we wont get it back. Once they introduce the ID card we are stuck with it even when its proven useless.
  23. WritetoThem! Epolitix/MPs websites - Contact details can be found there. I have yet to write one about Airguns as I have already sent one regarding ID cards so I dont want to be seen to be a pain.
  24. I must say I would rather they spent £5.5 billion on more police than an ID card scheme given it wont help that much with stopping terrorism etc.
