  1. He won the election with 35.2% of the vote. 64.8% voted against him but he still won and we all wonder why he has a big grin stuck on his face all the time!
  2. I have things in my wallet such as my drivers licence, as well as my student ID that are all forms of identity, I am not denying that I have forms of identity already, I never have denyed that. There is a whole world of a difference between a piece of plastic that has my name and date of birth (as well as photo and even signature) on it to a card that has my face scan, iris scan, address, fingerprints, previous addresses etc. backed up by a computer database that has all my details on it. That I will have to carry around with me or I will be commiting an offence. I dont have to carry my drivers licence about with me and I dont have to produce it to anyone that I do not want to see it. I have a drivers licence because I want to drive, thats why I paid for it, Ill have to pay for an ID card which will do the same job for identity purposes - its not identity its about survailance as someone else has said.
  3. The point to whether "If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear from an ID card" is a falsehood. You dont need to have anything to hide from the government to fear the ID card. If we dont need to carry it at all times then it wont be useful in combating anything because they could just say: "I dont have it on me, Ill nip down to the police station with it later." Knowing full well that they wont if they are not innocent of any crime. If we do need to carry it on us at all times, which will be introduced later; then you will be breaking the law, yes, thats right you will be a criminal for forgetting to carry it will you - thats not hyping it up because if it isnt then it will work as in the scenario above. I dont want to be part of a society that makes you carry Identity documents, a society that the police will have the excuse to stop anyone just to ask for ID, that reminds me of Hitler's Germany or the Soviet Union. It certainly isnt the way a free and democratic society should work.
  4. Check ebay there are usually some on there but most require you pick it up. Try your local gun dealer too, they might have a second hand one lieing about.
  5. I posted a letter concerning this issue to my newly elected local labour MP today. I will let you folk know how he responds. This is a good link for the ID card, they have an online petition on there somewhere as well. NO2ID
  6. That looks like a cannon. Are those things not banned yet?
  7. The Conservative party must be communists too because they tried to introduce them one time already and voted for them when labour were finishing the job in the last parliament. Luckily enough the House of Lords rejected the bill and sent it back to the commons for review so they need to take another vote on the issue. So this is the time to write your letters!
  8. I totally agree. I think that the general public do not realise that the identity card scheme is going to be more than just an additional piece of plastic in the wallet. Its much more than that they will be able to gather information such as: Name Address Previous addresses Times of residence throughout the UK and abroad Biometrics such as iris scan face scan fingerprints signature photograph residential status previous residential status' etc The list goes on and no good reason has been given to its use, that I have heard anyway. Another thing, the new identity card register will have to be updated and it will be the individual's reponsibility to ensure that all the details remain correct and if they do not can face a fine of upto £1000. It will cost you to correct details on the register whether it was your fault or the fault of a civil servant. All these details will be shared among government agencies including; the police, serious organised crime agency plus many more. I really couldnt make this stuff up. It sounds like its came from George Orwell's 1984.
  9. I was wondering what the opinion of the members of this forum to the national identity card. The national identity card register will hold unprecedented amounts of information on the individual without any real benefits other than another addtional way to prove your identity which can already be done by producing household bills, credit cards, drivers licences, passports etc. costing the TAX payer an estimated £5.5 billion and a futher £80 to obtain a card. No evidence has been produced by the government that proves their claims that it will help stop terrorism, identity theft or benefit fraud. Immigrants are here legally and will be given one of the cards illegal immigrants are here illegally and wont be given a card but they will need to ask them to produce a card which wont be done anyway because it wont be an immediate requirement to carry a card on you at all times when its first intoduced. If its going to be a requirement to carry a card at all times in the future then that introduces the whole idea of civil liberty. What do you reasonable people feel about this?
  10. Excellent work. Nice shotgun, What kind is that?
  11. Thats a really nice airgun. I need to get myself an airgun.
  12. Yeh I was looking something up on Google about CFCs for university, the ozone depleting refrigerants and it came up the Canada Firearms Center so that was a couple of hours distraction while I read through that. Seems to me like the world is going down the tubes.
  13. Yeh, I was looking at the Hornet. They are not that more expensive than the Bandit really. I have had a Honda moped X8R-S and they are well made bikes but, its a Honda and parts are expensive for them as with the cars. I'm skeptical when it comes to Hondas, they are well made but it seems to me that they have absolutely no character what so ever.
  14. The law is there to protect the criminal! If someone was in your house robbing you blind and you gave them a smack in the mouth then they would have you for assault.
  15. Yeh, pigeon shooting from a hide doesnt really make that much of a difference cause the pigeons dont get a chance to see you! Was thinking of getting some camo gear for rough shooting, some army surplus.
  16. Well, I was wondering what people think of wearing camoflage. Its supposed to help break your silhouette against similar background patterns but is it worth while getting any? Does it make that much of a difference? Discuss
  17. I am considering having a Suzuki Bandit 600 restricted to the legal limit of 33bhp instead of having a 125cc run around that Ill get fed up with. This way I can have a big bike and when the two years is over I can take the restriction off and Ill have 2 years no claims bonus. I was wondering if anyone has any comments toward the Bandit. I have heard that they are a very decent bike for the money (around £4000 on the road, new) with build quality being good, reliability and comfort very good and generally an all round decent bike. The older ones, late 90s are supposed to have better handling than the newer ones, any weight to that statement because you can pick up a 98 model with under 10,000 miles on the clock for about £1,400. Anyone have a bandit, or ridden one?
  18. Yes! I passed my Cat. A2 motorcycle practical! Only got to wait two years then I can drive whatever the hell I want! Woo hoo!
  19. I dont care who knows it: I voted UKIP. Labour were always going to get back in and I personally wont vote for any pro-EU party. There was some footage at the polls last night when they interviewed some pensioner and she said something along the lines of: "I vote labour because of Churchill, labour were very good during the war" Firstly: labour was in coalition with the conservatives! Secondly: that was OLD LABOUR who were a bunch socialists! And finally: Churchill was the leader of the Tories! The country is going to fall flat on its face now we have labour in for a third term. The young really need to get off their ***** and vote because the way its going that gives the minority of old people 2/3s of the voting power. You could argue that it doesnt matter how many people vote because it is representative of the majority but you could also argue that the young dont have the same things in mind while voting.
  20. I think you could be arrested for carrying a knife with a minimum jail term of five years.
  21. How much exactly do they get paid to sit on their ***** all day, giving out ballot papers and crossing names off the electoral register? In our polling station you have to mark your ballot paper in pencil. I know it goes into a big comedy black padlocked box but theres no excuses really not to give you a pen. What is the benefit to the community in paying a policeman to stand at the door of the polling station all day doing nothing except watching all the voters? I felt like I was doing something illegal!
  22. There are too many labour voters out there. Bliar has it in the bag already. I will be voting but I dont think it'll count for anything.
  23. Might be a 40 year old miniature person. edited
