  1. Good work mate, I reckon it won't be long before there's a picture of a Roe buck on here.
  2. It has been cut, the weight as is- 1lb 1oz. I don't know what it will lose after 90 days though.
  3. Here it it fella's, all cleaned and ready to mount.
  4. Cheers Adam, we'll have to get out soon...
  5. Yeah, should be good, there is some volume in the antlers. I don't know much about scoring though. It's cut and ready for boiling now. I'll post a picture of it when it's ready.
  6. Took this nice Buck on Thursday evening. This picture shows the malform.
  7. Here is Ozzy at 19 months taking a break on the last day of the season.
  8. Hi all, I found 1 of my jill's dead in the nest box yesterday. I gave her a good look over, and found nothing obvious as to her demise. It looks like she passed in her sleep. She was only about 18 months old. Her sister looks fine, as do all the others. She wasn't showing any symptoms at all, the day before she was happy and playful as usual. It hasn't been very cold here lately, so I can't blame the weather... I will give the hutch a damb good clean today in case there's any nasty bacteria hanging about. Anyone have any sujestions as to what done her in?

    Optilock Rings

Mark, Sorry for the delay, I'll take them rings if there still available. PM inbound
  10. Cheers JP, that would figure. I'll be ringing them in the next few days to get this sorted. I have a lot of wood that needs cutting...
  11. The chain does not run round the bar, it is well stiff. It fits in the groove in the bar but is tight. A mate of mine says it should run freely in the bar. I think they have supplied the wrong size chain... Thanks for all the comments.
  12. Hi all, I have an old Jonsered 630. It needed a new bar and chain, so they were bought and fitted today. I got an Oregan bar along with a multicut chain, as it will be cutting hard fruit trees. Anyway, after assembly and correct adjusment, I noticed that I couldn't pull the chain round the bar by hand as it seems to be too tight in the bar groove. I thought this might be the case with a new bar, and maybe it would be OK after it was run in by the motor. No such luck! It is like the chain brake is on, but it's been checked and all is fine there. Am I missing something? Or is it the wrong chain for the bar? That would be annoying as I bought them as a pair from the same company...
  13. Hi Sprinter, I used a cheap set of bits and ground them to fit. You shouldn't get any problems.

    Optilock Rings

Hi all, I'm after a pair of 30mm medium Optilock rings in black/blued finish. Can anyone help me out?
  15. Sounds like you have a memory likr mine.. Err... Forgot to say- well done!
  16. No, not really that difficult. That module is pretty much common dog. When you do the course you get a training manual with all the possible questions in it. The meat hygiene multi guess paper is 40 questions out of a bank of 205. The pass mark is 80% so 32 out of 40. Plus there are a few sites on the net with some very good revision content. Google is your friend here...
  17. He ran about 60yds. The funny thing was, he took off left then turned and came back to fall where I had shot him. :o Quite strange. But you have to respect the beast, the 100gr hollow point .243 had gone straight through the chest cavity ripping through the lungs and major blood vessels.
  18. Pretty much as Luckyshot says. It is an entry level course, so you can take it without ever having an FAC or indeed been stalking. It compises of 5 elements, 2 of which you know. (shooting and the simulated stalk.) There is a visual id assessment, meat hygine assessment, which is a multi choice paper, and another muti choice paper comprising of general deer questions. Take a look at the BASC website for futher info and course dates.
  19. Interesting, did he have a broken leg? Or was there any signs of disease in the gralloch? Nice work, it will look awsome on your wall.
  20. Hi all, I passed my DSC 1 this morning, went for a stalk this evening and this 8 point Sika Stag turned up... I thought I was gonna get a pricket, but out of nowhere this beast arrived throwing his weight around. (Which incidently was 114lb with the head and legs removed.) He teased me for a short while, then presented a perfect heart and lung shot. 150yds with my Tikka .243. What a day!
