Hi Brian The cartridges where hull no6 18gram,Once i got on to them the cartridges seemed to do the job,Have you got a 28 your self? I really do like the little thing and like you said its very light. Cheers Andy

Kindley got given a 28bore o/u other week and when talking to someone about it they told me they had 250 cartridges that i could have.So why i was sat at home bord i thought i would take it out for a try.With reports off the gamekeeper that there was not many pigeons about chucked 2crow decoys,box of cartridges and the caller in the bag.Got there about 9am and set the hide up under a tree on the edge of a little spinny were i had seen some jackdaws but no crows. With the crow decoys out and a little call on the caller the 1st 1 made a turn towards me. bang bang miss miss!!! and this carried on for 4 more shots untill a pigeon came over me, got it with 1 shot then after that i was very pleased with how i shot and the challenge the little gun gave me. shot my last cartridge at 11am with 11 jacks 1 crow and 3pigeons . Far better than being stuck at home. But after looking into the cost of cartridges for the 28 i must admit i think it will be staying the the cabinet after i have shot the 250 a friends dad gave me!!!haha

Cheers lads.I have had some of the best days being on a flight line PC. Yes the gamekeeper was shocked when i told him how i got on. it was just one of them afternoons where it all went right i guess and thanks Les they are.Dont get to use the old girl on the left much but she has been the best dog i have and my dad have ever had.But she has given me the next best thing in the pup on the right in the picture.

Went out yesterday to have a look round and after half an hour of not seeing 20 pigeons i ment the keeper.I asked him has he seen much about which he replied with,they have moved to feeding on the other estate. I had a drive to our boundary and watched them through the binoculars for a good half hour then i noticed 1 or 2 had started going over a little spinney that belongs to the keeper.So thought i will go have a sit in there with the dogs and see if i can pull 1 or 2 down.With in 20mins it seemed they change there flight line in my favour and started coming over me.With little wind alot where to high but some made great shooting.I ended a very enjoyable day with 58.I must say i really do like shooting under i flight line it can make for some really challenging shooting.

Finished work early the other day to go to the hospital to get my cast taken off.I got out earlier than i was expecting to so grabbed the gun and the dog and went out for a couple of hours.Early on it there was some very good shooting,with the birds flighting over the corner of the wood rather than coming into it and after waiting a month to get out shooting again i really enjoyed it and so did the dog.She picked all 31 pigeons and a crow i got when we were leaving the wood.

Finished work late on this day so only had an hour of light left when i got to the wood.But was just glad to get out an hour at least.What a good hour it was tho ended up with 21 pigeons,4 jays,a maggie and 2 grays.Only just been able to get on to post the pic today.

Just been for a drive round the land where i go shooting and didn`t see over 50 pigeons,were as 2weeks ago there was 1000s. looks like saturday is going to be a long day! just woundering if any one has seen any around the lancashire areas and who is out on saturday

Well after such a good day last saturday (04/02/12) with a bag of 68 and the gamekeeper in the wood across from me getting over 90,i thought this saturday was going to be an ok day.How wrong was i!! same place same wood 4+half hours 19shots 11pigeons which on any other day i would be ok with that.i was suprised at how little birds where around.I was up wind from the gamekeeper in his wood so couldn`t really hear him shooting so when i packed up i gave him a ring to see how he had got on.when i told him how many i had got i heard i little laugh down the phone to which i replyed well how many have you got..... im on 93 was his answer,93 i said,i havn`t seen 93 in over 4hours,your pulling my leg,no he said come help me carry them to the land rover.So off i went to see if he was telling the truth.When i got to this hide it looked like it had been snowing, this is when i realised he was pulling my leg.It just goes to show how strange our beloved pigeons are his wood is well under a mile from mine and i seriously hadn`t seen 93 pigeons all day!! o well it still isn`t going to stop me going again next saturday after all it`s not all about getting a big bag (but saying that i still dream of a red letter day).how did anybody else go on?
