  1. I got the 'Eye Level' glasses which are very similar to the Napier ones , they came in a half moon shape zipped padded case with two extra coloured lenses and a prescription insert which I had filled by ****Savers for £35.00. The arms are comfortable/snug and don't wrap right round the ears which is good for me as I have a reconstructed right one (due to Microtia) . The glasses cost £42.00 so that's £77.00 all in atvb sg1
  2. Enjoy your newly issued licence to thrill , My dad waited 3 months for his so that put's the average time at around 10 weeks  atvb sg1 ps: DO NOT forget to SIGN your SGC otherwise you're actually breaking the law!!!!.....have fun fun fun
  3. I go clay shooting with one of the Sussex FEO's and my old man was waiting for his SGC(getting on for 3 months wait) so he asked if it'd be an idea to phone Lewes and was told "if you phone to chase it up, you'll just **** em off and they'll put you to the bottom of the pile!!" . I phoned the other day about a notification of a new shotgun and they told me they're 12 weeks behind on all enquiries. atvb sg1
  4. I see you like to get your point across I see you like to get your point across I see you like to get your point across atvb sg1
  5. Our area FEO in Lewes,West Sussex are currently 12 weeks behind on all firearms enquiries(3 months) and one guy at our local club waited months before chasing up his first issue FAC only to be told they had no record of it/him  He'd even sent it recorded delivery and they still managed to lose the whole lot-referees,cheque etc!! As for your doctor charging you, I wouldn't be surprised is he still invoices the police and doubles his money(it happens ) . As long as your 'past' didn't involve anything 'serious' you 'should' be ok but if the local force want to get funny they'll find something- even speeding tickets have been used in past to deny FAC's but I don't think it'd stand up for a valid SGC refusal so you should be fine unless you stabbed, run someone over or robbed a bank!! One things for sure....if you get to the FEO home visit stage then it's pretty much in the bag atvb (keeping my barrels crossed for ya bud) sg1
  6. Are you running them / installing from an admin account or a user account on your system? I have games from win2000 that will run in win7.
  7. You must be the hovercraft/ferry pilot?? > > > > > >or a MERMAN lol atvb sg1
  8. Jersey holds them regularly, in fact my mates off there this weekend to do a pistol comp. atvb sg1
  9. As long as the land is cleared by FEO and mentioned on the use of the rifle on your ticket. atvb sg1
  10. You can but it will be illegal UNLESS it's transferred onto YOUR FAC!!! atvb sg1
  11. I went to the Co-op the other day with the youngest in the pushchair and bags on the handles..... how NICE it would have been to have a robotic chicken to open the door for me atvb (I'll get my coat.......) Sg1
  12. AFAIK , FAC minimum application is 14YO to have full access to your own. Air rifle law has recently changed to 18 though. atvb sg1
  13. You can't 'lend' firearms!! only shotguns for 72 hours!! The only way to do it usually is to borrow someone's who's 'with you' and who has the permission to shoot the land in question. OR... get one of your dads .22's put onto your ticket(your empty slot) and get it cleared for use on the land in question. Then he would need to put in for a 1 for 1 variation to keep his now empty slot and wait WEEKS for his/your ticket to come back!!....... easier to just go with someone else for now. atvb sg1
  14. I say 'let her be' I can't wait til my daughter starts clay shooting (she's 5 at mo) I've drummed gun safety etc into her, and her siblings and the day she comes shooting with me will be be a tear in the eye occasion!! DON'T discourage her and always hope better for your kids then you ever had!! atvb sg1
  15. Surely you mean 150/1000!! because if it's 150 quid for 10,000 then I'll have some of that!! atvb sg1
  16. I did it for first time at Southdowns 2 weeks ago, £8.00/25 bird one of the Best ways to waste a Sunday morning atvb sg1
  17. Went to Southdown Ground today, there were comps on as usual but we went on the compact sporting stand and did four rounds each!! Not my best effort achieved by far but it was a great morning out and the sun was BLAZING down for all 6 of us. Plus we got to take the p**s out of the jock on the traps who gave as good as he got which made it far more enjoyable lol. Defo going again soon atvb sg1
  18. GEEZ!! what do ya want for 8 quid - 'blood'?? .... Oh I see your screen name atvb sg1
  19. Some cheaper shooting glasses(and indeed normal shades) are not 'optically correct' which means that where you see something through them is not necessarily pecisely where it is!! Not so much an issue whilst walking through the countryside or sunbathing on the beach but when shooting to point of aim, it can cause obvious issues. So yes- you could go spend £300+ at Bisley for some prescription shooting glasses which will do the job nicely or go for a cheaper option like I did by getting a good pair of shooting glasses with an insert to get your prescription fitted if you need too . I got the EYE LEVEL glasses ,<CLICK HERE> (I didn't get them off flea bay but was first link I could find) atvb sg1
  20. I thought their 'compact sporting' setup was available on Sundays whilst comps are on?? atvb sg1
  21. Well....I used some at Goodwood today and I'm leaning well towards the opinion that they're a bit 'cheap' quality as I hit only 2/5 rabbits with them and IIRC nothing else(I was also using Clever Mirage's which I hit my usual average with). A couple of them sounded 'weak' and the primers on a few turned blue/black once dischardged(is this normal?) Plus our RFD who was with us said they're **** quality and just shoot em and forget em!! I will go back to my Fiocchi's/Mirage's full time again now and as far as cartridge selection goes....go with the old saying...'If it aint broke, don't try to fix it' atvb sg1
  22. any help? BTW...... it's 'near' Stockton RD not 'in' Stockton Rd.!! atvb sg1
  23. I also clean my gun/s after every use and a spray of Napier bore cleaner left in for 10 mins cleans out everything to a chromed shine . I thought 8's would give me marginally a better pattern spread than the 7 1/2 Clever Mirage's I normally use. I even bought 250 Lyalvale expreess 21's the other week to try through my SxS's , I guess I'm going through the 'which cartridge is best for my guns' stage now I have about a years worth of Sunday morning shoots under my belt(well actually more like 40 Sundays so still very much a newbie) . I'll give the D&J's a whirl and at £42.00 for 250 it'll not hurt the wallet too much if I get on with them. thanks for advice guys atvb sg1
  24. Now.....why didn't I think of that?? I'll report back tommorow evening with my findings atvb sg1
