RN could probably also use 3 boxes of rubber nails and a glass hammer for shoring up bulkheads too
  3. Good point teal, I guess what most of us dont see is the birds eye view of the hide - or more importantly what should be there...grass? undergrowth? a few small branches of the tree behind us?

  7. Only head shots within 40 yards should be taken with a sub 12lb'r for a beginner. I'm not saying that seasoned competent shooters can't exceed that - just as a starting point after getting consistently good results at field/paper targets first. If they KEEP going mental when you do a head shot you aint close enough - or killing them dead enough. What else do you have apart from the shottie?
  8. No **** taking now guys
  9. Here's where you could compare spelling, then copy and paste from: http://www.defra.gov.uk/corporate/regulat/...rtpest/pa11.pdf All the best with that potential new permission SB
  10. Dont take such offence at that suggestion SB. My kids didn't get the standard of education that was given in the good old days when poor spelling and such were met with a cane or pointer. My finger tips were frequently black and blue - and with my parents blessing too. We simply HAD to get it right. The point I'm trying to make is that many of the farmers you are trying to impress are old enough to have had a fair education - and would pick this out if you showed that pest act to him. Even the younger ones probably get a better education in the small towns than most city schools can offer.
  11. Well sorry guys, I doubt if poor grammar will produce results - but it might if it was spelt correctly? Best copy and paste it
  12. Wrap em up lads - cold spell comin...
  13. looks good mate - but in my opinion you'll need to cover the top as well if it's for crow/corvid They have a good scout round before landing
  14. OOPS - I meant screwed (through) together, hunter I think I have found someone on ebay selling offcuts that get left in a lathe after a job... so he can get the work done for me He's getting back to me tonite. Dont matter if they are different materials. Old rooster - yip thats the plan now. Thanks all.
  15. Thinking aboudit... This could be made from two pieces of tight fitting steel tube telescoped and screwed together - 50mm I'D in 50mm O/D Anyone able to sort this for me?
  16. I have a rimmie and a 12lb'r While I waited for my FAC I got reasonably adept at fieldcraft, frequently managing 40 yards from a rabbit, sometimes 30 yds, though I'm sure many can do better than that on a regular basis - but I did'nt need to so never tried. I sometimes had to do follow up shots to dispatch, yes - after head shots too. which made me try harder. There is a satisfying difference in the thak of a head shot connection as opposed to the plurp of a soft tissue shot. When moved on to a rimmie I subconciously still got to about 40 yards from bunny - and found I sometimes shot a tad too high when lamping - so I choose a body shot which gets the job done while being less critical with its faster heavier hollowpoint hitting power. My rimmie is VERY short barrelled, and sometimes all I see when lamping is the powder exit in the lamp glare, so I dont always see the hit. I have a FAC air slot and am very tempted to get one as my main rabbit lamping tool, Especially as I have now secured another busy A road permission this evening. Well it's been a bit too breezy for a rimmie today in exposed areas - so I visited a farmer, helped him feed his cattle, then nipped in to a farm on the way home on an off-chance
  17. I've been given a half decent swivel armchair, but it's too low for the breakfast bar that I use my PC on. I currently use a breakfast bar stool. I need to raise it about 6 inches and the base comes off easily enough to extend the gas ram tubing. I'm sure there's a few guys on here can do a little foreigner? Any prices please ? Price should include paypal commision and recorded postage so you know I received it if its signed for. Thanks in advance
  18. Thanks for that Cranfield
  19. Well I've wrapped my little friend up He lives on my dashboard of my taxi - and I sell the hat and scarf sets at £6. I keep red/white, blue/white, black/white... The laydee passengers love em
  20. I'm sure it's an opical delusion - but that moderator looks like its tilted downwards
  21. You and farmer should clearly establish what you intend to shoot at the outset. If your approach to him was for vermin control, then you would be well advised to leave pheasants alone unless this has been specifically agreed, - and I believe they are currently out of season anyway. I think you also need a game licence for pheasant/hare etc. A further thing to consider is that the presence of game is generally noticed by the farmer - and anyone else in the area who may be interested. If said game dissapeared they may wonder if it was due to charlie or yourself... which could affect ongoing permission or new neighboring permission.
  22. O-dear he looks well poorly, quick - neck him while everyone's asleep
