  1. Hi Guys I have a dip products .20 moa rail, DIP Products inc. will not ship outside the states. But I managed to order mine through Kinneys shooting supplies, they are also in the states the total cost of this was $59.30 that was nearly 4 years ago now and they are an excellent piece of kit. They slide onto the CZ lugs you tightenen them up using a bit of thread locking glue and bobs your uncle. The part may not be listed on their site but send them and a mail and they will be able to get one. http://kinneysshootingsupply.com/
  2. AFAIK all of the codes were pointing towards DPF and ECU.
  3. Yes every time the it went back to the main dealers the diagnostic codes were read. There are no lights on the dash at the moment.
  4. Here are a few posts I have done in the past on boots, I am a fan of army surplus boots, don't have to be goretex the german army have a very fine boot produced by haix that doesnt have goretex membrane. The brits do good boots too. Quote: Originally Posted by deeksofdoom For boots you can't beat a good pair of army boots and a pair of gaiters. I now have a pair of British army cold weather boots and a pair of German army haix boots. Not worried about how long they last or if they get scratched coz they are cheap and easy to clean. Give them a good dose of dubbin/wax/polish and they are waterproof. Quote: Originally Posted by deeksofdoom To be honest I think the meindls and all those brands they are overrated. I'm wearing German army boots now, they are plain but very functional, no goretex just leather, I soaked them in dubbin to soften them out and then layered on the kiwi boot polish. They are waterproof and give excellent support, I wear them with a pair of British army gaiters. I sometimes wear them with British army goretex boot liners in wet boggy ground. My feet never get wet, the water just beads off them. Give em a wash once a week, dry them out by the rad stuffed with newspapers and reapply the dubbin & polish while I'm watching the late late. I bought my boots from military1st. Quote: Originally Posted by deeksofdoom I've said it before and I'll say it again get yourself a pair of army boots. They take a bit of breaking in but they'll last a life time. i also have a pair of British army goretex gaiters and I can cross streams within reason without getting wet. German army boots are also made by Haix can get a new pair for €100. Take care of the leather and they will last you just as long as the more expensive civiliam type boots. I have a pair of German boots that I'm using at the moment, have put lashings of polish and dubbin on them and they are waterproof. The new ones are tough to break in but sure you'll be able to put up with that. I also have a pair of british army pro boots they are gortex lined and they have gotten the same treatment, they are a very comfortable boot to wear. Both these boots are easy to clean as they don't have as much seams and stitching as the civilian boots. Have a pair of Meindl dovre extrenme boots which crached and split after 2 seasons...........
  5. I'ld love a landrover. No real update on the croc of ****. It lost power alright the other day, spoke to the garage about it they will look after me if the problem persists. I just pulled over and restarted the engine and it was back to normal again. My cousin who is a mechanic, served his time with Renault has a 2006 vitara and the vitara has a Renault engine, reckons it's the EGR valve. It pretty much the only other thing lift to change now.
  6. Well I got it back there earlier they drove it to my work 70 miles approx to drop it back no lights on the dash so far. I parked it switched off the engine and noticed a painful sound coming from somewhere else under the bonnet. I'll see how it drives over the next few days.....
  7. Getting it back tomorrow. They have replaced the ECU again, they reckon there was a problem with the last one they installed and there's a new DPF gone in too. Fingers crossed.
  8. Not back yet. They gave me Citroen c5 instead of the Suzuki for the time being.

  10. I drove to work this morning, noticed a big drop in power and next thing it was in limp mode orange zig zag light on too, I drove a couple of miles as I was close to work pulled in and switched off for about 20 sec. Switched on engine again fault cleared and car going like a rocket. Yer man in the dealership rang me then after that he was very apologetic about it, I said I understood and that I know all about how trouble shooting works. They have come to the conclusion that there must be some kind of hairline crack in the DPF and the fault is only occouring after the car has been driven for a bit and the DPF heats up expands and the crack open up causing drop in pressure accross DPF and then it goes into Limp mode. They are now putting in a new DPF, hope thats the end of it. Luckily its still under warranty. o glad I bought from a main dealer this time, Imagine if I had to pay for a new DPF before x-mas.
  11. After being accused of driving like a pensioner I said whats the ****** point of asking advice here, however Its not my driving is causing the faults. The saga has not ended yet I'm afraid Dave. Have had a new ECU installed, collected the car last thursday, but by thursday night the engine management light was back on. Phoned garage he told me to bring it to another suzuki dealership which is closer to me to read the fault. I had noticed that on occasions when starting it took a couple of turns before the engine coughed into life, there would then be a big cloud of smoke and away she would go, I explained all of this to the guy in the other dealership. Brought the car to the new garage again this evening. They cleared the fault ran diagnostics, all pointing to a fault on DPF but DPF readings are fine for particulates or whatever tf it reads. Mechanic reckons there is a problem with the DPF, he said to call back if the light comes back on because he doesn't want to go changing the DPF straight away, he said it may take a while to diagnose what is wrong with it. Anyway 3 hrs after collecting car engine management light is back on, noticed on the way home that on a few occasions the engine lost power for a split second but didn't go into limp mode. I'll ring the new garage tomorrow morning and give them an update, see where they want to take it from there.
  12. Plantar Fascitis, now where do I start. I have had it for years on and off. First off what kills my PF is wearing wellies, no support, wearing flip flops gives me the same symtoms. Invest in a pair of good leather boots when out shooting and walking. Stretching is also important stretch your calf muscles by pushing up against a wall with your affected foot flat on the ground, look up stretches for PF on google. Find yourself a good sports injury therapist, someone who has played alot of sport/athletics. A physio might help, but if they are not doing anything for you after a couple of vists try someone else. Get a good rub out, dry needling can relieve the pain. Rolling the foot on a golf ball might help, don't roll on the point of pain, it will just hurt more. Foam rollers are also good for rolling the calves and thighs. Try a night sock it will pull the toes back while you sleep stretching the calf. Insoles are important, I have had several different types of insoles over the years, these are the proper orthodedic insoles that were made specifically for my feet. My latest pair have helped a lot i've even begun to do a bit of running again, expect to pay up to £300 for a good pair, if you have health insurance you might be covered for them. Diet is important, try and loose some weight. When my PF flairs up, I get a hard knot in the back of my calf, the hip on the same leg also hurts. I use various stretches, calf stretches and i think they are called i band stretches for the big tendons/ligaments in your hip. hope this helps.
  13. Well I just wanted to give a further update to the vitara. Got the car back Monday night and drove it home went fine no problems. Went to work in it Tuesday morning less than a mile from home power went again, turned around and limped home. Rang main dealer they sent recovery truck and replacement car. While I was waiting for truck to show up I went out to car to see if it was still down on power, started no problem and drove like there was nothing wrong with it. It went back to garage at any rate. I collected car this evening, was assured that it was now 100% fixed, they had replaced a split pipe to EGR valve. Drove off in car 10 miles down the road drop in owner again, same as last time. Pulled in to service station rang main dealer, cup of coffee later and started car nothing wrong with car driving perfect again. So it's now back with dealer again. No lights on dash or anything, just drop in power switch off engine and go again in half hour and she drives perfect.
  14. I got into the car to go to work this morning, not even a mile out the road when she lost power again. Rang garage and they are sending the recovery truck with a replacement car. Went out there to see if I could drive and she started and drove perfect, just went a couple of miles out the road. I'm at a loss now they can take it away again, it's making a liar of me but there must be something up with it.
  15. Got the car back today, the EGR valve was stuck. He asked does my wife drive it. I said no it was me. Suzuki Vitaras need a good blow out on the motorway.
  16. Yeah I spoke with the main dealer there this morning and it's covered under warranty as I only bought it in June. He asked if I had driven it this morning to see if the fault had cleared. I started it the fault light were still on the dash, but apparently the fault will clear but the alarms will still be on the memory. Recovery truck is coming this afternoon to see if I can drive it or get it recovered to the main dealers. Thanks for the advice, put my mind at ease..... A bit anyway!😭 Yeah I spoke with the main dealer there this morning and it's covered under warranty as I only bought it in June. 17. The Injection warning light and the malfunction indicator light are now coming on.
  18. DPF / EGR is a possibility, how would I know? if DPF was clogged it wouldn't allow air to turbo??? If it was the EGR it would be sputtering and loosing power, as the carburetor would be getting clogged? i don't know throw me a bone here.
  19. Lads, Just had a run in to the local tesco and while climbing a steep hill on the way home the I noticed that the car was as dead as a maggot, accelerator was doing nothing and had to go down through the gears. The immobiliser light was on there and there was no power. I managed to limp home driving at snail pace, I think its the Turbo Diesel anyone had any similar problems. I can't hear the turbo whining when I accelerate. Anyone have any ideas?
  20. Anyone remember 'theoutlaw' or 'tonytheoutlaw' he was completely off his rocker.
  21. I have a 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara with the last couple of months and I'm quite pleased with it. Will go anywhere I want to go and its not bad on juice.
  22. Glad to hear you sorted it out with your neighbour, nothing worse than fighting with your neighbours. I use an anti bark collar for my dogs, it shuts them up. I'm not worried whether its cruel or not as long as it shuts them up and I can get a nights sleep.
  23. Plans for Garden Furniture using scaffold boards Would anyone have plans for making some garden furniture out of some recycled scaffold boards. I want to make a couple of benches, lots of ideas on the internet but I'm struggling to find plans with the measurements and all laid out
