  1. DNT i100% agree as a whole package YES Kent does offer value for money But as I keep stating its Thornham/Brancaster I am relating to AND your day ticket restrictions the example I gave about Shellness. All other Clubs I know myself or anybody could easier and cheaper eg get a chance at Pink or try there given Marsh WITHOUT having to pay £242 to do so. No to be I personally fail to why your good self or AJ don't understand this or is it you don't want to or don't care !!!!! After all Kent claim to a caring listening understanding Club!!!!!! Hand on heart I don't know of any other Club in the British Isles who Boast continuelly how Big they are how Good they are and there the Best nation wide. Have a good look at Kent web or any Kent add its there for all to see.
  2. DNT had you bothered to read my previous posts probably about Day Tickets for Thornham/Brancaster I did try to explain why £242 is NOT good value for this sites. You say People are weekly/daily enquiring/joining just for them. I've stated I personally know Kent members who have struggled to obtain tickets so £242 for a ticket lottery value for money !!!!! I think not. Oh yes I understand perfectly why Kent need more ground TO MANY MEMBERS and why your Tickets are restricted TO MANY MEMBERS so no I was not joking. One of members Barls claims no problem to get Tickets for Thornham well I also say I've never had a problem to get Day Tickets from Clubs who shoot from Gibraltar Point to Great Yarmouth WHY because I got off my Butt and not jealous of other Wildfowlers Clubs shooting or rules. Kent restrict shooting and safe guard it so knock others who do the same !!!!! All I see Kent do different is let EVERYBODY join and we go full circle to many members
  3. Robert if you read my last couple of posts your see I did try in a polite manner. Kent is not the value they keep shouting . Now today I had a VERY interesting chat with a Estate Worker within Gunshot of Thornham Hall whilst looking about. He is not apposed to shooting but does non his self. Could be complete BULL but reckons this season is Kent's LAST Season on Thornham !!!!!!! And I have to admit I saw a comment similar a few weeks back either in this thread or on another forum Is there a Divorce Pending !!!!!!!
  4. 2 examples why Motto. Yesterday I went to a Bean stubble for a Fallow Pricket went back in the evening stubble ploughed. A stubble with Geese on spoke to farmer going to be ploughed Friday. No Bean stubble No Deer No cereal stubble No Geese simples
  5. Will be my pleasure Marsh Man just put on here you have sent me a PM and I'll give you contact details. As a distant 11 year old my Father and Kenzie started my obsession for Geese especially chasing them under the moon And yes most Old Timers when I started gave away NOTHING I learnt by skipping school then work and getting out there
  6. 100% correct Marsh Man.try and think like your quarry. Lower higher tides slight degree change in the wind or temperature moon rising later cloud conditions all can make a vast difference from one night to another also with Geese they will often feed on different fields to what the feed/fed on during the day oh and to less experienced moon shooter adapting to see importantly identifying your quarry then shooting straight. Marsh Man if you fancy a cracking this season at a North Norfolk/Lincolnshire Pink under the moon I'll sort it for you. No guarantee apart from my 100% effort to give you a chance oh and plenty of fowling chat
  7. Hard to explain by text/type but moon flighting Pinks is art in its self Takes a lot of hard work effort and understanding the way of Pinkfeet and the effect the moon has on them IMHO
  8. Muddyone as your a BASC member look in there booklet and you will see a wash club/clubs offer weekly tickets where you don't have to go with a member. As for Guides I don't personally know of Guides these days. But clubs have helpful members who help inexperienced newbies to their Marsh. As for me my time is fully Taken Deer Stalking and Wildfowling
  9. I won't be out as Kent has taken ALL my shooting and I can't afford £242 to join them lol ( it's a JOKE Gents ) Seriously enjoy your first where ever you are. To the OP having a busted ankle in plaster on crutches never stopped me in the past mind you it cost me a R/L chance at Pinks having folded the first I lost balance and ended flat on my back with a refracted ankle Pinks who'd chase em
  10. Come on Barns anyone with common sense would know full membership offers best value But this not the case with Kent. As 2 guests tickets you HAVE to part with £242 to continue to explore so your hand is being forced by Kent to be a member where as other clubs it's YOUR CHOICE. Also as stated IF I or others chose eg Thornham there is no guarantee of getting a ticket. I not a member of Kent but do know several members very very well if one has just spoken to me he is very very experienced in Wildfowling his comments on Thornham. !!!!!! Shambles and a lottery to get a Ticket !!!!!! Now I've had and still have a ambition to shoot a Sheppey Whitefronts and waiting are various Kent members to take me If they feel the chance is on But unless I achieved my goal in 2 tickets I've got to pay £242 to attempt to achieve my goal. As for full car parks well when that first Wink Wink of Pinks is heard most car parks are full always have been and always will. I take you was not a Shellness 3-4 years ago when 1200 Whitefronts turned up boxing day !!!!! Kent never stopped that place being over run it guns did it. Unfortunately fact of life Geese brings the crowds and in most cases one helluva lot of Jealousy FACT
  11. DNT so to me that seems like you're pushing people to join Kent. As how anybody can get a feel for a Marsh in 2 days !!!!! EG I have a ticket for say Shellness decide know not for me then get a Ticket for another site yep I'd like to get to know this Marsh unless I pay £242 as a full member my learning curve is over also that £242 doesn't insure I'll get tickets for my chosen Marsh. So do you not think this unfair !!!! On coastal shooting I don't know of onther Club with restrictions like Kent to members or BASC Members. Any fowler worth his salt knows it takes time to learn a Marsh and use Day tickets to see if the Marsh and Shooting on offer is for them before joining that Club IMHO often the more areas you can shoot don't offer value for money when carrying restrictions as Kent do. I'm all for any club giving chances to non members BUT fair chances of getting to know a Marsh safely over time with Full club members and not 1-2 days depending on where you choose on Kent ground. For £150 IF I choose that route I could get 20 days on Day tickets of numerous coastal clubs !!!!!! Where I believe I'd be a safer experienced user of that Marsh than in 2 days.
  12. Thanks DNT. So if a non member of Kent is BASC member and he/she knows a Kent member they could get a Day Ticket on ANY of Kents ground/lease provided all tickets for said area not gone and they are accompanied by Full Kent member all is good !!!!!!! Thanks in advance
  13. DNT this is a serious and genuine question. Do Kent offer Day/Guest Tickets on ALL their shooting site to non Kent members
  14. Well for I live for Moon fighting especially Geese. October can be tricky as can November depending on when the moon falls generally December January are fantastic and if weather and moon fall right February can be good. The definitely messes the Geese about and you have to put a lot of effort in and study the Geese more I can honestly say I can't remember many moons in 40+ years I've not managed success on Moon Geese. As I've stated live for a love this form of shooting for me nothing better than sharing a Moon light flight with Dog Mate and fighting Geese roll on October Moon
  15. DNT my point was any dedicated Wildfowler wishing to try there luck on these Marshes or indeed any of the other so called closed shop clubs by obtaining a Day Ticket. Yes now they can now join Kent BUT as I've already stated 3 day tickets for Thornham probably ONE for Brancaster meaning those just wishing to shoot those it's costing a helluva lot more money.
  16. Bob ( DF ) I have your right and totally agree with your comments. Especially the " jobs messed up and you have seen the best " People like you self who get off their butt work hard do the ground work and put the effort in I ain't got a problem with far from it I Tip my hat to you/them. But it's the lazy instance success greedy Shooters I can't deal. My point being any body could have enjoyed yours and others success had they put the effort in. Now all I see Kent has offered the easy way and more pressure on the Few Geese also the Duck. My feelings won't count for jack but it sure is a bitter pill to swallow. DNT YES I'm fully aware of your Full package I was commenting on Thornham and Brancaster that you offer nothing that any body could of had eg shooting by day tickets club membership or being a common rights holder.
  17. DNT I don't want or never have wanted a war of words I also understand text and type can be misunderstood and must add a good friend tells me " your sound " what I would like to know is after the Thornham Saga you must have known what had happened with the Geese at Brancaster !!! When you preach WE/KENT only have best interests for Wildfowlers- Wildfowling and Wildfowling why even consider what you have done !!! You claim 500+ members and growing issue 3 day tickets for Thornham and Probably 1 for Brancaster so how will this help your members paying £242 !!!! When anybody in the country could have got off their button and got a day ticket before Kent arrived. In fact with modern technology it's far easier now than when I drove for a hour to knock a door or leave at note due to favorably weather conditions ( Anser2 will back this ) Could be my old age but all I see is the Modern Fowler wants the easy route with no ground or hard work and effort. Also I can't for love nor money see what the Big attractions are for Thornham or Brancaster 8-10 YES 50000+ Pinkfeet but now well I've stated time and time again those days are long gone and probably never to be seen again SAD very SAD INDEED. And those that have shot the area for YEARS know the True reasons why. I will 100% admit you will see good numbers in that area but NOT coming off Thornham or Brancaster and yes I'm Kent members and others will bag the odd Pink off both places this coming season and the Best of luck to them Kent members or not. I must add DNT if the Boot was on the other foot would you and Kent members be happy and supporting to outsider's !!!!!!
  18. You have a better way with words than myself Jono. Well put. Perhaps you should have a word with the Gentleman you get a invite to where you met my Friends son. I'm sure you would find some VERY INTERESTING facts about a certain individual
  19. DNT. Amazing you only pick me up on my choice of word " Pounce " and not reply to the other facts I stated !!!!!! I noted during the Thornham Saga that Kents Web site claimed of securing a lease with access to 100,000 Pinks ( i see the picture is no longer ) which anybody in know will know that statement was/id total BULL. I'm sure others as I did see it as miss selling membership. So is this the case again with Brancaster !!!!
  20. Well DNT I fail to see how Kent members will benefit as having a 1/4 share only ONE of the share holders are allowed to shoot at a time. Also a share holder is allowed SIX Guests a Season eg the person is allowed to apply for SIX Day Tickets be very interested to hear how Kent plan to over come this so ALL there members get a fair cracking. Or as you put are Kent thinking waiting long term and now they have their foot in the door ready to pounce on Another Club/Cubs Lease !!!!!
  21. Oh but there is Anser2 I'm already a member and I've just mailed them as soon as I get a response I'll let you know
  22. DNT perhaps if you had read and understood my post correctly. You would have seen I stated " OUTSIDERS getting in through the back door eg commoner rights ( NOT ALL ) due to shooting pressure had moved the Pinks on. Something I'm sure even DD would/will agree on. And when they built up at Thornham along comes Kent and the same thing has/is happening. I do note that your permits at Thornham have dropped from 6 to 3 a day BUT why was this !!!! I do know enough about the way the commoner rights work. As I personally know people who have them. Just a thought perhaps Kent member has bought the 1/4 share and going to take his closest mates as guests 5-6 times a season !!!!!! Who knows !!!!! But making statements like you have just done IMHO just comes across it's your self and Kent who DON'T give a monkeys who you upset who's ground it is your going to have one way or the other . I'll stick to clubs I can trust thank you. Yes there will be some high shooting some fall outs but at least the Pinks will be there in good numbers for years to comes oh guess what the club's are full of outsider's and locals who are kept in check by the LOCAL run Clubs. No more to say on Thornham or Brancaster. All try to enjoy your coming season and good luck Cheers SB
  23. Robert I can remember being with you and seeing those two small Skeins of Pinks in Sandy Land the first of many thousands to follow over the years I also witnessed it at Brancaster But a very sad fact that many on WON'T or DON'T understand is we both have witnessed the sad loss of Pinkfeet numbers do to over shooting. Chin up where there Clubs who control what there got and with respect The Norfolk sky will still be filled with a few Pinks that True Wildfowlers can enjoy. Have a good season Robert and hope you bag the odd Pink or two. I think it's time to we are BOTH wasting our time and effort on here trying to educate to the truth
  24. DNT. Trust me last season I tried my very best to stop high shooting at Pinks on another Marsh all I got was disbelievers some even claiming I was jealous. Anybody that knows me that's rubbish. I am not into stirring things for the fun of it.i have been to Thornham car park I've spoke to shooters to obtain information only to be it's locals there gone or your not a member it's nothing to do you. IMHO if a Warden was to spend more time there especially over a period of the Moon I'm sure the Warden would find some interesting facts. I myself don't care a hoots where in the country people come from I along with some locals will and have got a constant eye out for vehicles etc twice last season I was told by the Police that vehicle discipion is not enough. No matter how much myself or others try to enlighten you about unless you start believing us and you do something about it nothing will change. And I will not hesitate to report or name the offender's But then again nobody in a bit of trouble gives a false name or push the blame do they !!!!!!
  25. Also DNT your statement about checking your tickets that they have been used by experienced Fowlers well here a 100% True fact for you FOUR of your members using those Tickets had NEVER shot Pink in England let alone a English Foreshore till they met me
