  1. Can't upload pictures RC 36grm steel has a B&P35 wad split 4 times but ONLY just under half way. Don't know what the wad is in RC 32grm steel but again split the same as the RC 36grm
  2. You have seen with you own eyes Both RC 32grm 4 shot and RC 36grm 3 shot steel shot cleanly killed Geese IF put in the right place. Even on the Foreshore I use the RC 32grm 4 shot steel for Ducks. I've shot hundreds of both cartridges and of yet never had a problem

    Pinks

To much " Bull Poop " wrote and believed about Inland Goose shooting and mainly by people who have never done it. Like any form of shooting may it be with Rifle or Shotgun can at times be easy. I've taken Farma Geddon and Muncher inland after Pink"s and I'm confident both would say it was NOT the Goose floping into Decoy shooting they had probably expected in fact in can remember BOTH of them saying it was some of the most sporting and difficult Pinks they had shot and they have shot plenty on the foreshore. Again the mith about there easy as your not stuck in Mud !!!!!! Well ask those to Gents on there opion I feel very very lucky in that I have some superb Goose shooting both Inland and Foreshore on many occasions I've chose to go on the Foreshore knowing I've got Thousands Inland do I find killing Geese inland easier than on the foreshore !!!!!! Hand on heart NO. After all a 50yrd Goose Inland or Foreshore you still have to hit it in the right place to bag your Goose. Another thing apart from size colour name etc Goose is know different to a Duck Pigeon it has feathers skin internal organs lives and Fly's and us as shooters take there lives YET plenty moaning and condemning think nothing of shooting Ducks and Pigeon on stubbles and plenty of them to. If it's not for you fine but don't go knocking those that shoot Inland unless you're got good reason because believe it or not I'M the first to be on the case of some I've seen blackening the name of Inland Goose shooting.
  4. There are many shooters who never publicy reveal what they shoot eg I 100% know these few facts. 2 guns sharing the same hide one shooting a Winchester Coey single 12ga shot 100+ Pigeon the other shot 200+ killing 82 straight. The same 2 guns shot 100+ Pigeon each with Air Rifle coming into roost. Also one gun shot bags of 5 x 600+ Pigeon 2 x 900 before finally reaching his goal of 1000 when he shot 1100 and these 8 big bags was shot on the same Farm over laid Barley ( only a hand full which flew on was lost all what fell to shot was picked ) I could be wrong but I doubt you know of these bags !!!!!! Or heard of or met my Brother !!! But you have met and shot with someone who shot 407 Pigeon on laid OSR and picked 402 the other afternoon. All these bags ( not the roost shoot ) the gun/guns just took Gun Cartridges Dog 2 home made Bouncers and relied upon natural hide field craft and building a Pattern with shot Birds. Where as today it seems people rely on to much gadgets as driving around the country/country side all I see is mini Helicopter impersonations !!!!!!
  5. If you want to travel to Cambridgeshire I know where you can get .264 Nosler Partition 140 gr.Also it is perfectly Legal to import Expanding projectiles providing you don't go over your allowance
  6. At last Good answer also those who decide to creep along creeks or run across the Marsh to get on your shoulder do to the success your having
  7. Yes and I've got one of their T3 Laminated Thumbhole Stocks for sale
  8. Leadwasp Enjoy your new Toys mate. I would imagine that you will need 150 - 200 rounds through it before it settles down to Bug holing !!!! Well my mates Prohunter did and my T3 both rifles now are tack drivers
  9. Tim Hannam for Hornady 75 gr V - Max I loaded these with h4895 Nosler Partition 120gr i loaded these with IMR 4831 or h4831 Highland outdoors your local RFD can get these along with the Remington 120gr Cor-Lok hope this helps
  10. A-Tec Maxam is the Moderator I use others will tell you this and that moderator is less noise reduction But unless less they have high tech sound equipment using the ears is not the way to tell. Before I started reloading I used Remington 120gr Cor-Lok to good effect on Muntjac CWD Roe Sika Stag Fallow Bucks and Big Red Stag's. Stey Manlincher pro hunter mk11 do a 24" barrel twisted finished screw cut barrel single set trigger detachable magazine. My mates is a Tack Driver
  11. No louder than a .220 Swift 243 308 or a .17 hmr without a moderator. But yes I do agree I'd get a moderator
  12. Leadwasp I personally never found any difference from my Sauer 202 with a 23.5" barrel to my Tikka t3 with a just under 20" barrel you can get them with a 22+ barrel but they are not screw cut. IMHO be careful of light projectiles at fast max speed as these will/can cause excessive mate damage/bruising especially on the small Deer. If I had to pick only one projectile it would be the 120gr Nosler Partition even the 115gr Partition. 120gr Speer Grand Slam I found good But did find a few would Needle Through the Hornady Round Nose 117 gr again a excellent projectile and will pass through even the Biggest of clean ribbed Red and Fallow. Be patience when you first start working a load up as some .25-06 can be a pain to get right. also if you do any foxing 75 gr V- Max with open your eyes so much I got rid of my .220 Swift and used the .25-06. Good luck and enjoy a fantastic calibre
  13. I've used a .25-06 and a .300 Win-Mag for 40+ years. Using 117 gr Hornady Round Nose or 120gr Nosler Partition from the. 25-06 I've shot cleanly a very high numbers of some of if not the Biggest Wild Red deer to walk the British Isles. In the .300 Win-Mag I used 120gr - 185gr and 200gr Lapua Mega did these kill Deer further or quicker than the .25-06 100 % NO and I'm used to shooting 200 -250 Deer a season Mainly Fallow and Red's but Roe - CWD and Muntjac. My .25-06 rifles had 22 9/16" and 23.5" barrel the .300 Win-Mag 23.5 IMR or Hodgson 4831 powder is what I use to reload. I'm now using a 6.5x55 with a 26 " barrel does this kill any better or worse than the .25-06 or .300 Win-Mag !!!!! 100 % NO. Leadwasp I had my .25-06 printing 1/2" high at 100 yrd. Do your bit and 300yrd Deer are capable. I must point out I am NOT a " Deer Sniper " but have the Rifle and ability to take a long shot IF needed.
  14. My Grandson has a box of 25 Sellior & Bellot 3 " 36gr Steel shot that my mate gave. Last season we shot a few Geese with them
  15. Several Tundra Bean Geese this season Robert. Whilst I agree there are not big numbers around in Winter unlike say Brent or Barnacle Geese the Bean Goose is very very hard to tell apart from Pinks in flight and as the 2 place I know they get Bean Geese in the UK are protected IMHO I'd like to see them back on the Quarry List so IF one is shot from eg Pinks nobody is going to get prosecuted for shooting a Protected Goose. As you have stated they are a Very numerous Goose in many countries. When they was on the Quarry List how many people do you know went chasing Bean Geese !!!! Again IMHO the lack of Whitefronts and Bean Geese coming to the UK is Climate change Look what happens if Germany France Belgium to name 3 gets hard prolonged weather a Big influx of Whitefronts and Bean Geese to the UK. Has us losing the Bean Goose off the Quarry List seen a increase !!! No.
  16. Depends if they shot them Legally or not MM.I regularly have a License to shoot small numbers and they soon become wary also they have no problem flying high out of range. Would I want them back on the Quarry List !!!!! No. Now Bean Geese that's another story
  17. WHY !!!! Now not looking to get into a Bun Fight about Goose numbers shot But IMHO Goose meat is very good and has many many uses. Here is just a few I use . Goose Mince for Shepherd Pie- Spaghetti Bolagnasse or anything you use Beef mince for Goose chunks for Currys-Pies- Stew again replace Beef with Goose meat Goose Breast stuff with chestnut stuffing wrap with bacon - Goose Keiv to name 2 Goose meat Sausages - Burgers etc and Plain roast Goose I've been slated in the past and probably will in the future for daring to shoot more than than the mysterious number of SIX Geese. If they are NOT being wasted and being made Good use of what's the problem !!!! Nobody seems to moan about the amount of Chicken Beef Pork or lamb eaten and I would imagine if the 122 Pinks was 122 Duck or Pigeon again I don't think there would be any problems. As for my season started with a Goose or 2 ended with a Goose and plenty in between. But my highlights was my Grandson first season shooting a 12gaand seeing him shoot many Firsts hopefully next season will see more of the same.
  18. I suggest you along with the other trigger happy Killers do as Kes suggested Read and understand the Law Correctly and speak to B.A.S.C. As you can't just go around shooting Canada Geese 12 months of the year as you please FACT.
  19. No problem John ( M M ). I was Deer Stalking yesterday afternoon with the Wildfowler who had his Dog pulled under water I mentioned in my previous post. We both shoot the same area both use Dog's BUT are very very cautious when shooting near large creeks with water. As for the Seals could it be youngsters who have been ejected from the Colony due to Adults giving Birth !!!!!! The Seals we see have been very active fighting and chasing each other about. Last flight tomorrow evening and hopefully fit and able back doing it again Next Season
  20. Yes and I started this Thread as a WARNING to fellow Wildfowlers. But I take it you're a Ain't seen Don't believe it so it won't happen to my Dog or myself person !!!! So you think it's a JOKE for the Wildfowler who lost his Dog to a Seal a couple of seasons ago in Scotland !!!! or the Fowler decoying Ducks on a Creek about 600 yrd from my incident who had to rush his Dog to the Vet after a Seal pulled it under while retreaving a Duck Dog survived it's injuries but would NEVER enter water for the rest of its Life !!!!! Well I for one DON'T find or see any of the events a JOKE
  21. In 45+yrs of Coastal Wildfowling I have never seen or witnessed what I did this morning. Doing morning flight approximately 100 yrd from one of the Wash Rivers a nice tide pushing into the green edge I was hoping for a chance of a Greylag and a outside chance of a Duck. The normal seal display was going on mid river when I took a half light duck chance shooting a Beautiful Drake Pintail result I was well happy some 10 minutes later my ears had not played tricks on me 2 Pinks approached at a killable but high chance again my single shot speed true and a obviously head shot Pink cartwheels Back wards somersaulting in the slightest breeze falling with a mighty splash about 15 yrd out in the tide. Whilst I stood cursing my bad luck where the Pink had fallen which was flapping around on the water in circles as head shot birds do a all mighty splash and swirls occurred the Pinks had gone and a few minutes later 8 seals popped up looking around. Now in all my years Wildfowling I've never put/sent my Dog's into any of the Big title rivers and have always sat back enough as not drop birds into and this morning was a good reminder to me why I keep my distance. If the Pink had fallen straight down this advent would never had happened Yes I was pee'd off I'd lost a Pink and with the many years Wildfowling I would like to think I shoot the foreshore with safety to my Dogs myself and respect to the Quarry I pursue But just goes to show freak actions from a Shot bird could easily be so costly to your Dog yourself or Both thankfully we both walked safely off the marsh me a bit shaken and another reminder we don't know everything
  22. I can point you in the direction for 3 " 20ga cases and wads.PM me if interested as I've used a 20ga for Geese for years and use a Steel home load to very good effect
  23. Ha ha Yes your right mate. 99.9% of the time. I loaded 3 for a laugh and I'm sure you know who I shoot with who is always ribbing me about BBB and how well they pattern.I must say I was shocked to how well they performed and patterned on the Greys ishot
  24. Of course I would not use the Cartridges I mentioned on Pigeon But a Goose head is far smaller than a Pigeon And the Geese I shot had at least 4 BBB in the head and 2 in the neck
