Yes I was told "There are presently no couriers who can carry s1 or s5" The implication was that the couriers have given up carrying firearms rather than any legal driver. Also told the main agents were now using in-house delivery services.

Check out the weatherby nation forum for info about boar hunting with the 257. It is certainly considered a boar capable calibre in the USA. As for ammo - start reloading ☺. If the bullet does not kill them the blast will and if that fails the 2ft of flame from the barrel will toast em.

OK this was my thought as I understand the law ammo is either fmj or ballistic. The rate of expansion is not covered so any soft point / ballistic tip is ok (weights, caliber and energy being allowered)

Try Saxon or the Hollies club next to beacon hill - they use the same range. Is only a short 48yds but it is cleared for at least 308

Thanks for that info. I was a little vague on the need to clean after firing and I had used tissue paper for the wads but was not sure if that was ok. Made a measure from old 7.62 case for 5/16 lead shot which seems fairly repeatable. I was going to seal the ends with beewax - any problem with that? Thanks Vap

Ok so here's the story I bought an old black powder 410 it cost pennies and looks nice but I would like to actually fire it. From reading around it seems that shells can be fireformed from 303 Brass which I have now done - straightforward. These I have trimmed to 2" as the gun appears to have forcing cone that starts at about that lenght into the chamber. What I now need is load data using Pyrodex for a 2" shell will 3/8oz lead. I understand its approximatly equivalent by volume to BP but I do not have the BP tickets or any BP to match against. My best guess as a starting load would be 16 grains of Pyrodex but does amyone have any actual load data? Thanks in advance Vap

How much work is involved for 'Open days' at rifle clubs
vapours replied to Breastman's topic in General Shooting Matters
Hi I'm helping with an open day on Saturday. Basic process Police need to be informed and provided with the name address and age of all participants which I believe they need to approve. Usually its up to existing members to @sponsor@ a visitor. On the day we give a basic safety lecture. Guns are provided by club members who also supervise each shooting lane (visitors may be asked to pay for the ammo). We try to get a verity of guns and swop visitors around to give them the best possible experience. We only do one on one supervision with 6 lane open under the overall supervision of an RO Vap -
