  1. I will be happy just to get out in the field, haven't been for for a couple of weeks now and last time I went it was only for an hour or so, just keep getting denied the chance with one thing and another, its driving me nuts.
  2. I know what your saying about it having heavy loads through it but when its shot all the kentic energy is disapated through you and you are made of water and are squashy, a floor or wall is hard so if there was a flaw it could open it, but each to there own and Im not looking for confruntation.
  3. I would not bash my gun atall, the inertia switch is activated by the gun jumping back with the recoil, bashing it will have the same effect but if you have a flaw in the stock somewhere you could be weakening it, not a good idea I would have though. Just my tupence worth and Im sure lots would disagree but a gun is a reasonable presision instrument so shoulkd you be bashing it?
  4. I can sort of see where you are coming from, the one's like the second picture, I think its because its very deep and still water contained by a bit of concrete, I think damms would probably cause the same sort of fear.
  5. When one of my work mates was being a tool I said he should meet my friends Mr Rizzini and Miss Laurona and they would sort him out, needless to say he didn't get it.
  6. The BASC and Countryside alliance should come together as one on issues like this then we will have a stronger voice. These BOP have started to get out of hand and are being artifcially supported with feeding and the like, I do think its time for something to be done, as said by other people they are more numerous than crows and majestic as they are I rarely give them a second glance nowadays.
  7. The plane was in a field at Raunds where I live, I didn't ask the people where they came from, they didn't have a local accent though and I didn't note the plane reg as there is a Puss moth register on the internet.
  8. Does anyone have a dynamo for a 1931 De Havilland Puss Moth plane, , I was with the dog up the fields this evening when I spotted a plane in the middle of the next field, so I walked over to investigate and found the three ocupants sitting on a picnic rug in front of the plane( so it obviously had not crash landed) I asked them if they needed any help and they said not unless you have a dynamo, but thanks for the offer anyway, they were going to sit it out with the plane until tommorow luckly they had relatives in Raunds so they were fed and watered but did not want to leave the plane on its own, further on down the field I spotted a Kestrel and then a Barn owl swooping up and down to the long grass, an eventfull dog walk.
  9. What I ment by him not having a SGC is that there is not likely to be anybody sniffing around him checking guns, unlike myself and no doubt many others who keep their air rifles in the gun cabinets along with the shotguns. I dont have the equipment to test my gun.
  10. Did not read the above posts and notice Bakerboy had beat me too it, great minds think alike.
  11. Not exactly the same but I pay £53.00 for 250 RC Titano's which are 31g six shot, so they do look dear too me.
  12. The new spring is in my own meteor, the one that was shooting with more power was the one I had picked up from an auction and it was for a friend who does not have a SGC, he has it at home now, looking at the gun I can't imagen it has been upgraded.
  13. Do you think the car was any good after he had finished with it? Impressive driving nonetheless, my Rover Sterling could ave it for breakfast.
  14. I ordered a new breach seal when I got the spring, but it looked nothing like the seal thats in the loading end of the barrel am I looking at the wrong thing as it looked quite deep and I did not want too mackle up the old one getting it out if this was not the right seal. By the way the seal in the loading end of the barrel looks in good condition but is the original one and the gun is now 20 years old. Thanks for your replys chaps.
  15. I have just come back from a gun auction where I purchased a BSA Meteor which looks almost identical to my MK5 although just a tad less chunky and with stylised script on the top part of the action also the barrel is about 1/2 an inch shorter, anyway cutting to the chase I tested the new rifle in the garden by firing into a catalogue and comparing it to mine, well I was shocked that it penetrated a good 20 or more pages than mine, now this is where im confused as mine has just had a new BSA standard spring fitted and while I was at it I fitted a new piston seal, that came from an O ring set I have in my workshop, it fitted nice and I lubricated everything with good quality gun oil, could the O ring be at fault or have I a duff spring, just a bit fazed as I have had this gun from new and the one from the auction is just a £35 snotter. Any thoughts welcome.
  16. If they catch the people who did this they should bind their arms and legs, shoot them in the head 40 times with a pellet gun and bury them alive. I feel guilty if I've shouted at the dog if she has been naughty, sub human is the word.
  17. Just remembered one of the beaters is shot and dies in this film so maybe its a shoot-um up afterall.
  18. Must admit Mr Potter I didn't think about films shooting people, its slightly disturbing that everyone associates gun related film with shooting people and I was surprised that no one had mentioned The Shooting party before me.
  19. Not quite a rolls royce persay but my old boss when I worked at a company called Eurofleet brought a brand new Bentley Arnage and a week later took it over a plouged field whilst out shooting on his estate (yes his estate) and ripped all the front valance off, needless to say he used the Rangie while the Bentley was being fixed, this is the sort of things people with obscene amounts of money do. I digress people have mentioned Rizzini's I have a Rizzini sideplate ejector and find it a very good gun, 1985 vintage but almost mint and I paid the princly sum of £200 admitedly off a mate, but a gun I recommend and you might get one in your budget.
  20. Not so much all out guns but its in the title, I say the best shooting related film is The shooting party, I could watch it time and time again.
  21. Has nobody had any dealings with these guns? :(
  22. Im looking for a cheap semi for pigeon bashing, considering a Winchester 1400 or a Remmington 1100 which is best or are they both avoided and should I be looking for a different brand, also what faults should I be looking for? Thanks in advance James.
  23. Recently put a new piston seal and mainspring in my MK5 Meteor, its transformed the gun although I didn't know the spring was broken until I took the gun apart, even though I have had the gun from new, just be very careful when fitting the spring they are powerfull, another word of caution I would not fit an uprated spring like an OX for example, I have been reliably informed it will ruin the gun.
  24. Just read the whole thing properly as only got through the first few lines, Im maddened QUOTE Its not known who is funding the treatment. hmmmm let me have a really wild and crazy guess.......its coming.......yes I bet its us the good old tax payer, which I would have though this piece of detritus and his wife are not.
