Hi mate looking on my phone can't see location where are you roughly
  4. I have a few release pen drives which I use later in the season what has worked for us is. Very little if no noise from the beaters a nice steady line, if your running the line try to be in a position where you can see as much as possible. If possible lift the wire on the pen or gate (oppersite end to direction of beaters) as you approach the pen hold the line and tap no shouting, this should encourage the birds to run forward through the pen and to the front/ flushing points, we then move a bit tap etc etc if you think enough birds have gone forward consider leaving the pen also. if you can spare a flag man or two either side of your wood this wood assist too. Like rimfire said its hard without seeing the land. Others may disagree but I'm not a fan of the beaters shouting especially early on can provoke panic and birds lifting to early and going every way but the right way. Think about where you place your stops and sewlling. Hope there is something in there that might help.
  5. Is it just rabbits you are after?
  6. Hi mate what's your location if your close Iv got one you can borrow.
  7. I will take it please if not already gone. Thanks
  8. Ref the virkon I strongly recommend that you put it in their drinking water this cuts out any cross contamination, we use one gram per liter of water. A lot if game farms inject against mycro however this only lasts for roughly 3 months hence why a lot of ex layers break out in it. Injection has warn off and birds are at their lowest. Have you got them on multi vitamins? Can I ask what % of protein pellet wise you are giving them.
  9. Could be a sign of micro pal. I would say knock them on the head ASAP to stop the spread if it is micro. Virkon in the water will also stop it from spreading. Are their eyes swollen at all?
  10. Decent bike wanted cash or swap for shooting gear, I have a brand new beretta tweed waist coat with tags £175 to buy plus beretta breaks also with tags £175 in shops Thanks
  11. Recently had great results using jack rabbit call this week Iv had 2 cubs and an old dog running full pelt towards me all shot at 20-30yrds. All have been on foot lay up in a position no lamp on until Iv given the fox pro a few minutes.
  12. A reliable experienced picker up wanted to join the team on a private estate in nottinghamshire. Must have 2/3 good dogs and be able to cover in the region of 20 days a season. Good rewards for the right candidate. Please send details via PM Many thanks
  13. Head keeper bred 1 male liver dog remaining 7month old, very good breeding lovely temperament lovely looking showing lots of potential. Make ideal beating rough shooting dog or family pet. Location Nottinghamshire NR Retford. £450 I'm advertising this for my keeper so will put interested parties in touch with him.
  14. Clayshootingrus.co.uk pretty good and slightly cheaper.
  15. When people hear the word ex-layer 90% probably cringe, the first thing I ask/think are they last years birds caught up who do like to wonder know the score and granted will be gone at the first opportunity. Then there is the ex-layers that some game farmers rear themselves ie they keep back ex amount of thousands poults which incidentally they rear from, so all these birds know is a pen they have not seen the out side world yet and have not been shot at. These are cracking birds, In theory you are buying a young adult bird. Good feed source plenty of water and multi vit and you can not tell the difference. So if considering ex-layers 100% go for the reared kept back poults.
  16. Used them for the first time season just gone I found them very good. Hard hitting and not bad on the shoulder be nice if done in fibre.

  20. Hi all. Simulated game day Location private estate nr Retford Nottinghamshire. Some of you have shot with us last season and I'm sure they can vouch for us. We have finished our simulated day planning and the first dates available are 9th march and 23rd march. We will be using professional equipment and the day will be ran as we do a game day. This will be a team of 8, four shooting at one time swapping over half way through the drive. The day will include all snacks and refreshments, 11s etc. Expect to fire 200-250 shells we recommend 21-24gm strictly fibre also. 3-4 drives partridge, mixed, high pheasant. The cost for the day per gun is £100. This then qualifies you for a back to back day ie shoot on Saturday get Sunday for £50 that is an optional extra and entirely up to each gun. These are on a first come first served bases. So be quick!!!! Kind regards Any questions please ask.
