  1. Good call - I'll borrow some too if that's OK with hitclays ...he can have them back at the end
  2. Just tell hitclays what you (or your Dad) would like to borrow and he'll have a word with his magic elves He will be able to arrange loan guns, he's good at it
  3. We Norfolk boys (LC especially) are good when it comes to details - even I can tell you exactly how I missed the first 2,612 clays of my shooting career - the next 90-100k are a bit more difficult to recall quite so clearly Hitclays will undoubtedly help out with a loaner if asked and Philip Webster at Attleborough may be able to help out if RFD services are wanted. He's a very helpful gunsmith but I shan't presume to answer for him so if you're looking to have a RFD caretake the gun he might be worth asking.
  4. The great thing about clay shooting is that you can always improve But remember - If at first you don't succeed then Skydiving isn't for you
  5. I once tried shooting with a semi but it affected my swing Sorry - someone had to make a joke about it sooner or later and I'm cheap enough to do it... The emphasis for the day is on enjoyment and nobody takes it too seriously (except those who do!) Missing is good fun anyway - especially when you do it at speed so even if you come with a catapult you'll have a great day
  6. Sound reasoning - time telescopes! It sounds so easy when you apply the maths like that Of course it's not allowing for hitclays letting what seem like ages go by before releasing 5 simultaneously (he does that stuff y'know - sneaky beggar) Also it doesn't allow for the fact that getting into that cage makes me act like a puppy and I want to bounce about and wee everywhere
  7. It's been a while since me and a lady had the chance to use the word 'down' in pretty much any interesting context Still, I've always got my shooting. Oh, hang on...I'm no good at that either
  8. Don't think he's joking...he's not! You've seen the Land Rover stickers that say 'You can go fast but I can go anywhere'? Well we don't like those - in Norfolk we have the same sticker but it says '...and plough while I'm going there' too Plastic wads are fine - we like hitting stuff and some of them clays will be ways away out so fibre would lose you some range
  9. Sound advice Oh, and bring TWICE as many cartridges as you think you're likely to use - we raise the air temperature by several degrees before we're through
  10. As far as I know BASC, Countryside Alliance, CPSA and SSA all give you enough insurance cover - don't quote me as it's horses for courses but I know that the FairClayTargets shoots at Dereham are insured by hitclays himself for everyone's safety. It's only sensible and responsible to have your own insurance though but I think BASC should see you properly covered. Someone more experienced than me in the arcane ways of legalese may be able to give you the definitive answer
  11. Yup - O/Us are quicker PLUS there's less danger of losing the end of a finger in all the excitement I took my Hatstand to the first flush - never again - they might overheat when hitclays starts flinging the bitumen
  12. That's a lovely way of saying Chaz in a numpty I'm normally quite chuffed if I can work out what day of the week it is at the best of times....anyway - I'm not doing badly as it's only September...isn't it? Aw Heck
  13. At least sundays are the best choice for a long trip - trust me - you'll have a blast and you'll be made to feel very welcome Also you'll get some good practice on getting 100 shells down your tubes in about 3 minutes...
  14. The pub is called The Ploughshare and address is The Street (we're dead creative with names in Norfolk), Beeston, PE32 2NF. The ground is only about a mile from there but I can't remember the postcode Do what I do when I'm looking for a shoot I don't know and turn the radio down and stick your head out of the window
  15. Hitclays can always bring something as a 'loaner' for the day if you're stuck - he has 20 or 30 to choose from!Be aware that if you accept the number of offers of 'have a go with mine' that you'll get you'll be shooting every second pair with a different gun... PW folks are some of the friendliest you'll come across and everyone mucks in to make a great day - the craic is always good too (as is the beer afterwards)
  16. Oh it makes SO much sense Always has done! Cheers for a great layout today mate
  17. They arrived this morning, perfectly packed They fit an absolute treat so tomorrow will be the testing time... Many thanks - I'm chuffed!
  18. Thanks - rec'd your payment - will get them into the post to you tomorrow
  19. Hmmm. An XR3 - isn't that one of those new sports cars they're bringing out in Norfolk next year? Norfolk will be happy to have you both If you want to be on the winning side you'd better join us Norfolk boys again - we enjoyed your company last time out I'm sure you can be an honorary Norfolk lad for the day old son
  20. 3 of the above, never fitted. The curvy ones (if you've got an Escort you'll know what I mean) £6 for all three including postage... NOW SOLD TO FLAZZ
  21. It's 2 stroke (if it was a 4 stroke 5 horse I'd be looking for the majority of the asking price just for the engine) and I'd guess it's a late 90s but I'll check and let you know...
  22. 1. Yes 2. Always awkward 3. Absolutely but you have to don't you? 4. Maybe Gosh darnit, I can't count either
