  1. Four Herts teams! - hope you've got enough pink vinyl for all the barrel nametags! Looking forward to it thoroughly
  2. Hitclays runs a corking shoot twice a month near Dereham and it's not that far - several of us travel from Long Stratton area and it's worth it. You can use plastic wads which you can't do at Tas Valley and every time the layout is different so you can't get bored  He also runs flushes for PW members and these have become so popular that the next one in March has guys and girls coming from Kent, Herts (the Massive), Cambs, Lincs, Suffolk, Essex (the Posse) and probably other places we Norfolk folk haven't even heard of. It's run with an emphasis on fun and safety and if you want to go back to a stand to find out how (or where) you were missing you can I've shot most grounds in the area and it's far and away the best (only my opinion but I'm not alone in thinking this). The local pub lays on food afterwards and that's all included in the £22 entry fee PM me if you'd like to know more (or Hitclays - he runs it when all's said and done) and one of us will tell you more. In case you think it's an amateur set up he also runs Chatsworth clay shoot and several other national shows. Next one is this Sunday at 11am and the forecast is looking sunny and not too breezy Hope this helps
  3. For sale, Plastimo 270 airdeck with everything (valise, rowlocks, oars, pump, repair kit) only used twice. Also has 5HP Yamaha outboard - runs like a Swiss watch. F/N/R gears and separate tank. Serviced at the end of last season and not run since - happy for you to inspect in the finest detail This boat planes two up and is light enough to lift on and off a roofrack on your own. Details: http://marinestore.co.uk/PL55742.html I'm based just near Norwich in Norfolk but don't mind travelling a bit to aid collection. It really is like new and if I told you it was you'd believe me Complete package prices at £600 and, at that price, I'm afraid it's no offers...
  4. I've one of these http://marinestore.co.uk/PL55742.html with a 5hp Yamaha outboard (separate tank, F/N/R gears). It will plane with this engine two up, handles coastal waters with ease and can be lifted onto and off a roof rack single handed. It's been used twice but I now have a RIB so it's literally 'as new'. The outboard is older but runs like a swiss watch and has never let me down. Services at the end of last season and not run since. I'm based just near Norwich so I'm about an hour and a half away from you and could meet if it helps? Let me know if you're interested and I'll send some more details
  5. Fair enough Sir - you can't fault a chap for trying! Please can you tell me what payment method would suit you best and consider them sold Please PM me...
  6. May I be rude and trespass upon your good nature by offering £60 please? It would seem that they'll fit my Winchester Signature (Invector Plus bored) and I'd like them if you won't be offended by a lower offer... Many thanks, I'll quite understand if you feel that's too low a price. Payment by personal cheque or PayPal at your convenience. Best wishes, Charles
  7. Thank you for such a comprehensive answer - yes, it does help. Having looked at the other set you have offered they might look a little less 'ostentatious' bearing in mind that I only shoot high 70s! I shall have another look at them now and wonder if you might consider a (sensible) offer? I know how much they must have cost you but I also know how little I have to spend on a hobby that is increasingly becoming a luxury. Many thanks for such a propmpt reply, Charles
  8. Hello there - I've checked the Comp N Choke site and they don't seem to list a Miroku choke. Their site is quite difficult to navigate in all honesty so I may well have missed it. I shoot a Winchester Select Signature which has the Invector Plus chokes so I'm assuming that these would fit and, as I currently use 1/4 and 1/2 they should be fine. Would you please be kind enough to let me have the code that Comp N Choke use? I'll contact them and, if they will fit (which I'm sure they should as they're all BWM weapons nowadays), I'll get back to you for a deal. Many thanks, Charles
  9. Can't get PW to load pictures no matter how hard I try - tried both upload formats but still nothing... Very lightly worn, virtually mint pair of brown sheepskin boots perfect for this weather with cleated 'commando' soles. In appearance very similar to Spitfire pilot's footwear. I'll be pleased to pm photos to anyone interested. £50 posted, £45 collected (Norwich, Norfolk). You'll never see another pair of these I'm certain so if you want warm feet drop me a line and I'll send photos straight to you
  10. May I please have Biddy's Move, Mount, Shoot? If you'll kindly pm me contact details I'll settle by PayPal. Cheers
  11. You'll see more than the odd (odd? lol) face that you'll recognise and the welcome is always warm - even when the weather isn't Same place as usual (Watery Lane, Beeston). Tea bar and burgers as usual and, with this weather, some interesting targets... Be good to see you if you're going to give into the temptation of a morning of clay cracking and an afternoon of daftness in The Ploughshare
  12. Spoken like a gentleman It takes a while to get a good reputation but only moments to lose it. Don't forget that Hitclays puts on shoots twice every month and that The Ploughshare serves beer (and Nigerian Lager to keep Hitclays happy) seven days a week so you don't have to miss out on some shooting and gargling completely  There will be some fiendish clays flying over Beeston tomorrow from 11am
  13. Game shoots are only part of the year and you can shoot clays anytime (we all do with Hitclays lol). If you mention what's going on and that it's a PW 'do' and not some random event you might be surprised at how understanding they'll be I help out with both clays and game and, in my experience, the most annoying thing is being let down without warning - they might trade you one work party for another, harder, one so you get to prove your mettle with the syndicate and play with us silly souls. Silpig is right (I daren't say different - his Missus shoots straight) but you MIGHT get to do both with honest and careful handling
  14. If anyone is still stuck accommodation-wise here's another one to think about: Lynn Hill Guest House,Yaxham Rd, Dereham, Norfolk NR19 1HA 01362 696142 It'll be about a £5 taxi ride away I'd guess... It's great that so many guns are travelling so far and us Norfolk boys will do all we can to help make sure you don't need to sleep in the cab I can't offer accommodation myself (I'm 30 miles away from Beeston) but I'll be happy to help find somewhere affordable so if anyone's in a spot please get in touch and I'll do my best
  15. Are they all made to one size? I've worn Snugpak for years and I know the quality is peerless but I'm a big (46" chest) fella. Thanx
  16. That's a damn fine idea! I've got a quid that says it'll be more than any of us thought I seem to remember a long line of hairy ***** shooters (and the exquisitely formed Countryside Lass and Mrs Silpig) lined up loosing of both barrels at a single speeding clay last time and it flying serenely through well over 1lb of size 7 shot
  17. How many warm bodies have you got lined up now then Alan? I'll just bring 4-500 shells then if it's going to be a light session Looks like it's gonna be another helluva day (and, quite possibly, night)
  18. I'd like the woodcock zipped jumper please? I posted a reply but it duplicated your whole ad so I thought I'd better send another :o Fortunately I'm better with a gun than a pooter! Cheque or PayPal - whichever you'd find most convenient Cheers!
  19. May I please take the woodcock zipped jumper? Can send cheque or settle by PayPal - whichever works best for you
  20. Can you please tell me what network it is on? I'm stuck with '3' but want to upgrade my phone. Cheers, Chazzmeister
  21. I'm not associated with the business in any way so this is just a (hopefully) helpful suggestion...John Forsey in Kent sells an awful lot of Hatstands and may very well be able to help. I've found him helpful in the past. Most Hatstand dealers seem to have lots of parts as Edgar Bros send out loads. Hope this might help
  22. Look forward to seeing you there
  23. I'm '40 something' myself and wear glasses daily to avoid furniture, cats and my own feet It may seem extreme but I wear contact lenses when shooting - I use disposable ones that cost approx £10 for 30 so they're not expensive and I buy them on an 'as and when' basis. Granted you'll need a Px for them in order to be sure that all is as it should be but I find the difference when shooting is amazing - so much of the field of vision is blurred when wearing glasses and peripheral vision falls away dramatically. Lenses give an interrupted view and crossing clays are picked up much more quickly rather than sneaking up from nowhere - I appreciate that's not your problem area but it is for me I guess we all have to deal with the ravages of time in the best way that we can and this may be of no help to you at all - glad you've returned to the sport and, as long as it's still fun, just keep going
  24. http://www.holmdenefarm.co.uk/ This should be pretty close by for anyone travelling from foreign parts (ie beyond Dereham!). Alan (HitClays) will probably know some other B&Bs but, just to save you from his caravan, I though I'd chuck this in the mix I'll be there no matter what - there's SO much sky to aim at...
