  1. I guess you must be thinking of a muzzle loader or even a flintlock. I shoot cartridges and they are almost as fast as a Nitro cartridge.
  2. No I load Standard hulls, they are quite cheap to buy ready primed.
  3. Thanks. Thomas Wild around 1910. Hand made in Birmingham. Two and a half inch chambers 28 inch fluid steel barrels black powder only proofed. Rebounding locks. Barrels are good. I intend it to be my black powder gun. As Mr Wild died around 1897 the gun would have been made by Rowland Watson. The name Wild was kept on for a few years. Lovely to shoot original black powder from a black powder gun. The boom, foot of flame and smoke. Lovely it's what shooting is all about.
  4. Hadfield shooting import the guns. I am sure he will have chokes. Nice guns!
  5. Surely to produce paper you have to cut down valuable trees!
  6. They just about wrecked my watch. Very sloppy service. Bad senior management attitude
  7. Do let us know how you get on Mr best. I am in a mood to load a few more. There is talk of a punt gun day over the big lake. NOW THATS BLACK POWDER WITH A VENGEANCE!
  8. I would think the on line sales sites would be your best bet.
  9. Thanks I tried 60grains of ffg and 24 grams of shot but found it to be a bit gentle at around 900fps I now load 70grains and 28grams of shot. Lot more exiting and seems faster I use standard Lyalvale hulls. I see that on the USA websites these loads are considered "light weight" they use considerable more powder.
  10. Now now. It's Christmas. Good will to all men. Even folk who own modern guns.😁
  11. Thanks Mr Figgy that does sound like a plan. I did once see a youtube "American" of a loading machine with a settable gauge on the wad rammer seemed a good idea. Cant find it again of course. JUST SEEN THE SIMPLE ANSWERE. A block of wood under the final crimp head. Set at the correct height. Why the heck did I not think of that.
  12. THANKS. I am loading black powder which is compressible and it's easy to get a variable wad height. Especially with a large felt wad. I do need a tool which will give me a constant height. Thank you for your help though.
  13. Hi what's the best reasonably priced reloading tool for 12g which incorporates an adjustable preload on the wads. I have a lee auto load but have trouble getting the wad pressure constant for a perfect crimp. Any suggestions please.
  14. I think the one I saw price reflects the fact that it actually could be over 100 years old and unshot. All original finish. A real collectors item.
  15. All day but my upside downer does break clays and it's mine.
  16. It's gorgeous Mr Best Just up your street!
  17. Just had one of these beautiful guns in my hands .Turn of the century and in almost unshot condition. Came out of a guys collection. So slender in the wrist and the finest Damascus I have ever seen. Problem is I don't have £11,000.
