  1. I got enough land to suit me, but problem is is all rape and wheat, and no birds are on it. Last monday though when I was at UK Shootwarehouse, I met Will Beasley, and shot through his business on saturday. I opted for the sort yourself route, and it cost me £40, which I could afford. I will pay for it again in a heartbeat if I aint having anyluck with the pigeons on my permissions
  2. As tittle says, 11 birds feeding, 4 with their head up. Paint or colour is still 100%, if I wiped em down, I could sell em as brand new. There is all the pegs, legs, and some spring pegs I was thinking offers around £40, plus postage, give me your offers if you keen, I don't know what they worth Rgds M-M
  3. Is definatly the UV. Think of it this way, the best decoy is supposed to be a dead bird in a cradle, but how much white do you see on a dead bird in a cradle.........very little cause the wing's tucked away. Where as with the socks and even the hyper, their is more white that is visible, and they are always moving, no matter how little wind there is, so the birds flying in, see the UV socks long before any other deeks, cause with the UV paint they stick out a lot more. I saw the photo's taken under UV light the other day when I went to their warehouse, and it's like chalk and cheese. I can't say much more you need to see it for yourself
  4. Spoke to Will Beasley the other day, and organised one of the do it yourself days (not even a feather round my permissions for the last few weeks). I put 10 sillosocks out, and a pair of hyper flaps on the rotary, and was really suprised in how the birds came in. After I had shot the first 10, I thought I would really test the sillosocks out, buy putting the first 10 birds out in cradles, about 250 yards down from where I was, and they didn't even make the birds hesitate, even the birds coming from their direction. If you could see a pigeon, no matter how far away, you knew it was going to come in, just as soon as it saw the sillo's. Even big flocks of I guess close on a hundred birds, would drop in without hesitating. I didn't use a horse shoe type pattern, instead I just put them in an oval type shape, with the rotary upwind. If the wind changed direction, I could easily of moved the rotary. One thing I would suggest is that you first try and set up in the garden, just to get used to them. The socks are easy, just getting the angles right for the peg. Mainly the hypa flaps you need to experiment with it's angles to get the best effect, and the speed controller. They are amazing though, cause when they facing into the wind, they flap their wings, the next 180" when the winds behind them, their wings glide. Is hard to describe, but looks like real birds. Also I would suggest you use a speed controller, cause I found that you had to get the speed right for best effect. Am selling my other deeks now, so will put them in the for sale section tommorrow. Total birds for the day was 67 (including about 5 rocks), and 23 crows. Also a big thank you to Will for putting on such a great day. I couldn't of asked for more!!!!!! Think I will treat my old man to a big bag day of your days for christmas!!!!!
  5. from what I understand, they are painted in detail like that to highlight even more what the pigeon see's in UV. You, your 2 year old, any of us humans do not see with UV vision, and so do I agree with you that they do look differant, but it is only so that they are highlighted to full effect for what the pigeon will see, and not us
  6. I went to see Matt today at UK Shootwarehouse, and am trully amazed at the new silosocks. When I drove in, they had some on the front lawn, and to honest I laughed when I saw them, and thought whatever next. I asked Matt what they where all about, and to be honest was quite amazed when he explained it to me. Us humans see a mixture of 3 colours, Red, Blue and Green, where as a pigeon see's 4 colours, being Red, Blue, Green and UV. He gave me a diagram of the decoys all in both the UV form and the normal kind, and I must say that the UV's stick out like a dogs plums. Besides that, that also compact up tighter than a shell decoy, they are much lighter, suit you right down to carry. If you want to order them, use the link above, or if you close enough, go and see him, and see it for yourself. I will be testing them on friday, so will let you guys know how they went.

  10. And i thought this was a nice friendly site? Words like that, spoken without any thought will get your big mouth in a lot of trouble one day! Personally people like you giving comments like that shouldn't get favors. At the end of the day, RichardH is asking for help and in return he would offer a beaters day and possibly a few roost shooting evenings and all you've done is give the bloke two fingers. With you being in North Hants you are in a great position for him and if you had of used your head you would of realized that you meet other people on the shoot who in turn could have offered you more shooting rights. Agh well, never mind. You win some, you loss some. Of course, if this was said as a matey joke as you know each other and i've missed something, I take it all back and will by you a drink next time I'm in North Hants Good luck with the search Richard, me being in Surrey can't help. BUT i would have, if being closer and the days being free for me. RB..........my first time I went beating, some toff who has never got his hand's dirty in his life look's down upon me and say's "where's your tweed".............it aint got ** to do with him if I don't want to pay £300 for a glorified sack, and I was smartly dressed also............hence I got in my car with my dog and went home, so no I do not want to spend a day getting looked down upon. I will say it again to you RB in case you didn't get me the first time, and let it sink in this time.........I HAVE BETTER THING'S TO DO THAN BEAT BUSH'S FOR A BUNCH OF TOFFS. Richard, I do apologise if I was rude the first time, and understand your shoot may be totally different when you say "friendly", but it don't appeal to me. If you PM me your exact location, I could put you in touch with some other guys
  11. Anyone keen on some Rottweil 36gram no. 7 1/2 to 8's. they are £125 per 1000. Best sporting cartridge, especially for long shots, one warning though is a lot of clubs will not allow them,
  12. No thanks mate, got better things to do than bash bush for a bunch of toffs.
  13. POP QUIZ....................did you really shoot it from upstairs, you went down stairs and shot it from the side, entry and exit is on the pepsi logo's, to hit the pepsi logo you would have had to come from the side, .......BUSTED.............
  14. I saw one of the celeb chefs some time ago, make a quick cooking cheese where he mixed milk with lemon juice, he drained it through cloth and the curdled stuff he used.
  15. News today on radio one was all about Jack Straws remarks, 99% who phoned in, or sent in a message where behind him, guess who was the only one who "distanced" themselves from his remarks.............Tony the bLiar
  16. From when it was colonised, my Great Grandfather went up with Cecil John Rhodes from when he started the trek from South Africa.
  17. When I landed here, I had to sort out my immigration, at heathrow there was not one person on immigration that was of english decent (I remember joking to my Mrs about it, weather or not the plane got detoured somwhere else), when I had to get my residency stamp in my passport, I had two people of differant ethniticties telling me whether or not I had a right to live in this country (Us Rhodesians are originally of english decent from about 120 years ago). I had to pay £250 just for a ******* stamp in my passport, yet the asylum seekers come here, claim asylum, get free lodgin, benefit support, everything is handed to them on a plate.........our tax money!!! I don't want to go over the top here, but mark my words here now........watch the STD's increase. Give it two years.

  19. Stuff that Mark, like you say this is England, but why the * must england change for them. Do you see em building churches for us in Iraq. I think the crown has lost it's shine. Maybe the BNP might be able to polish it again.
  20. My wife and inlaws are all english, I am Rhodesian (I don't like being called a Zimbabwean cause I was born when it was Rhodesia, and of all the zimbaqbwean asylum seekers here, and my father lost his farm cause of the colour of our skin, that he paid for after Independance) We where fed up with the struggle of being white in Africa, so agreed to move my wife "home". This place aint the "Great" Great Britain that I had always believed. All the Asylum seekers taking the ****, some towns you drive into you will never believe you in an English city. When my father was here, I was too embarresed to take him through Luton to a fishing shop. People forming their own communitis, trying to dig up the dead so you don't offend a ****** ethnic minority. If they don't like it, what they doing here in the first place. This is England, change or act English or sod off I say.
