  1. They are interchangeable. http://www.choketube.com/guide.html
  2. kdubya - Very worrying - yet again, I totally agree. :) I had some training in risk management, quite a few years ago, but the theory appears to remain the same.
  3. Diceman - my posts are not abusive. They are merely a response to a pathetic attempt to score cheap points, when a child is missing. I think that is fairly low. I will put this in terms a simpleton can understand. I cannot prevent a plane from crashing in to my house. However, I can avoid my children being left alone by merely being there with them. It is called responsible parenting.
  4. Diceman - you really need to grow up. You are in danger of appearing to be a complete plonker. I expect a less than witty retort. I really don't know or care who you think you are trying to entrap with your pathetic attempt at logic, but it is embarrassingly poor.
  5. Diceman - you are beginning to sound like a character from Kung Fu. Seriously, I think the chances of a child being harmed, injured in a fire or abducted are slightly more than a plane crashing on my house. I do think the question was cretinous - reason - it was.
  6. Nice one Jim - I hadn't considered that. Must dash - back to the insurance company to extend my cover.
  7. I agree. You can get 28grm shells as cheap as 21grm. The cheapest shells in the north west are 28grm.
  8. Diceman - I have painted my roof in very bright orange, so that pilots may avoid it. I have taken out adverts warning pilots against crashing in to my house. I have taken out an insurance policy in the event of my being asked cretinous questions. Sorry - have to go now and speak to my insurance company.
  9. Piebob - a different slant on the argument, but well said. I agree. :good: I have worked on worst case scenario for more years than I care to recall. It has served me well. The severity of an instance far outweighs the likelihood.
  10. I agree completely. Sound advice. :good:
  11. paul65 - if you have children and take them to the Canaries - will you do as the McCanns did? I know the concept of a straight answer to a sensible question might just be beyond you, but have a go. Mungler - I honestly think I would be happy if there was a consensus that the McCanns were very stupid and now know better. I would be happier if people would stop pretending that they were anything other than very stupid. If they had nothing to do with her disappearance - good luck to them in their search for her. They have to live with what they did for the rest of their lives. There has been no public acceptance from the McCanns of the enormity of what they did, but in their private moments do you honestly think they agree with posters who see no fault in their actions?
  12. It's their country and their law. I would not criticise them.
  13. HDAV - LOL. When I read what I had written.
  14. paul65 - I misread the question - I thought it said "do I think you are just getting a bit silly". My answer is yes.
  15. paul65 - The Mccanns were not in the garden, they were some distance away. Did the event make your relatives more careful? I suspect it did. When my kids were younger and we retired to the back garden, we locked the front door, all the windows were locked and we had three GSDs patrolling the drive.
  16. I have never had a service. Periodically, I remove the stock, blow out any dirt with a compressed air line, including the firing pin holes and sparingly lubricate the innards, with WD40 or equivalent.
  17. PWD - well said that man. Short and to the point. gsm 1968 -where does class come in to it? Same question - would you now do what the McCanns did? Yes or no.
  18. Mungler - little to disagree with - air comment. Nial - don't lecture me on how I think. I think far more clearly than you can even aspire to do. It's not to do with the odds of a car accident or a child being abducted. Ben Needham was abducted. A gamble under those circumstances is not one a smart person would take. That set alarm bells ringing for me and a few other parents, I would venture. If it didn't figure in your thinking, for whatever reason, that is what separates me from you. You haven't answered a straight question. Perhaps it is a little difficult for you. With what you now know, would you do the same as the MCanns? It doesn't take an evasive smart alec reply, it justs needs a yes or a no. Then we will all know what sort of person you are.
  19. Nial - straight question. Knowing what you now know, would you do the same as the McCanns - go for a meal / drinks - and leave the kids in an apartment, out of your sight, alone and in a foreign country? If you would not - I rest my case. If you would - you are incredibly stupid. As for gambling with my kids every time I drive - please - come up with a cogent argument rather than this stupidity. I assume you don't drive for fear of knocking someone over.
  20. Nial - based upon your logic, you would ignore the plight of Maddie and in future would do as the McCanns did. The odds are in your favour. I would not gamble with a child's life. The McCanns did and seem to have some support - astonishingly. You accept that you know of only one other as well as Maddie. Does this somehow lessen what the McCanns did. They did not learn any lesson from Ben Needham, nor did you. kdubya - for the second time - well done - I agree.
  21. Sadly, potentially an accurate summary. The future won't be helped by people as stupid as the McCanns, nor people who think they did absolutely nothing wrong. I think that some posters will claim they would be more careful and vigilant after this affair, but she was not the first child to go missing on holiday. Neither the McCanns nor others seem to learn the harsh lesson.
  22. I won't argue with a word. :good:
  23. I do wonder whether Scotland Yard will push the Portuguese Police to do their job properly. The law in Portugal is harsher than UK Law. The penalty for a parent leaving a child alone runs from 2-8 years. If I was one of the McCanns, I would think long and hard before setting foot in Portugal and accusing the authorities of incompetence. I also wonder why the Mccanns aren't demanding that they should be prosecuted under the Penal Code. Demanding that people do their job properly seems to be a one way street in some areas.
