  2. Travelling up to view this week. Assuming no problems - I will be buying.
  3. Mike - I might be interested myself. Does the forend include the metalwork? I can see how the bulk of the mechanism comes out, but the forend latch looks a tricky.
  4. Genuine Beretta shotgun case - will take up to 34" barrels. No cracks or dents, but the previous owner drilled three holes in it. Two on the top and one on the bottom. They are about 4mm. I filled them with epoxy some years ago and this has stayed intact - see photo. It doesn't alter the carrying capacity or gun protection, but I feel obliged to mention this. More photos on request. £30 posted or £20 collected from Bolton area.
  5. Dave - it was a pleasure to meet you, but the ground improvement was a real bonus. It looks professionally run and presents the sport in a very good light.
  6. Ian - thanks for that. I missed the events diary.
  7. I haven't been to Catton hall in the last 20 years. Went today, on my way to Wales, to pick up a guncase from DSPUK. It was a decent ground back then, but looks to have moved with the times. Well kept grounds, decent safety cages and what appeared to be decent targets. I will be making a return visit soon and will try to drag our shooting party over there. I would appreciate some info:- Is it felt or plastic wads? Which days are they open? What do they have in the way of disciplines? Price? I have looked on their web site. Very glossy, but just about as useful as a chocolate fireguard.
  8. Picked up from Dave today. Exactly as described. Top lad to deal with. Thanks.
  9. No need to prolong the debate. Two guilty people have paid the price for dishonesty. Case closed.
  10. Flashman - on the money.
  11. The only problem I have with stepped rib guns is with quartering birds, which are rising steeply. I don't know why, by I seem to start canting the barrels. Fine for going away, oncoming and crossers.
  12. I will have it. Can you PM me contact details please.
  13. Less than £1000 would get a very nice Beretta, Browning or Miroku. Well built, long lasting guns, with decent resale value.
  14. The gun shop told you correctly. Stick with 1/4 - it's good enough for sporting and okay for skeet.
  15. Is that Optima or Mobil - Skeet?
  16. Raised or step rib does not make a gun shoot high. They keep your head slightly more upright. I have shot DTL and Skeet with raised ribs, but just can't get used to them for Sporting.
  17. Get a Ruby - same site - better and cheaper.
  18. Why would anyone want to use their shells apart from snobbery. They will not load their own, but will have a someone make them for them. Convenience?? Only a few pounds a box extra????? Get a life.
  19. Mungler - straight legal opinion. Not whether the Policeman behaved badly or used excessive force. Is your money on a conviction - based on what we have seen and read?
  20. UK Poacher - I think you have summed it up correctly. I honestly doubt that CPS see this as an 80% win case. Probably 50 / 50, but bowed to public and family pressure. I have seen all the opinions on here - all seem sincere in their belief - guilty or not guilty, but I do not believe we are as unbiased as a jury might be. We seem to be looking at a video and reported facts. Some believe the video is enough. I think it looks bad, but don't think it will be enough to convict on manslaughter. In court, a whole different slant will be put on what we have seen and heard. It will definitely be far less clear cut. If it was as clear cut as some believe, he would have been charged earlier. If I am wrong - so be it. For the record, I think the Policeman was way over the top, but am not privvy to what happened earlier. For those who say they don't care what went on earlier, I think you may be disillusioned at the trial.
  21. If you are doing it to proper standard, I think you are into armoured cable territory.
  22. Harnser - no problem with that. He will appear at the Mags. However, they won't ask for a plea. They will decline jurisdiction.
  23. The comedian wouldn't have been Ken Dodd - would it? I could see his dilemma - chances of any one of the Jurors finding him funny - bit remote. kdubya - there are a few bullies in the force, but they are far outweighed by a heck of a lot of brave officers.
  24. UK Poacher - you are beginning to sound like James Degale.
