Going to pick up my 581 in a few days getting it threaded just a couple of questions Whats the ideal barrel length im thinking 16" but im not cutting off the front sight if i done have to. Also what mod i know SAK are really good but would prefer a parkhale but wont put one on if its not up to the job. Also looking for a new stock for it off an old one or a cz 511 any other extras or anything else available

.22Cf is only granted for fox surely and would not be granted for vermin and ground game as a first time licence and you not having asked for a CF i wouldnt chance your arm even going near one. If you have a legitimate reason for wanting one then talk to your fao and get it ammened it only takes one thing to get the fao on your back and the next time you want something he might not be very accomidating. .223 factory will push 50 grainers along at 3200fps to 3300fps ish Opps although i did say roughly sorry if its a bit in accurate numbers off the top of my head and i dont shoot CF

Definately get a sony eircsson but if you want to take pictures make sure you get one with auto focus dont worry about megapixels the k800i is a brilliant phone only other one springs to mind is the samsung u600

.17hmr - hornady magnum rimfire pushs a 17gr bullet at around 2600fps .17rem - remington pushs a 25gr?? bullet over 4000fps for comparison a .223 i think averages about 2100 roughly with maybe a 50gr and a .22lr with 40gr is around 1100fps

Cz all the way especially if your only starting out they accurate and reliable and cant be beatin on price. For the amount of money it would cost to get a 10/22 shooting the same as a cz and as reliable you could prob buy a anschutz sako or some of the really good rimmys

Congrats on the new rifle should be a great setup. Imo shooting in those sort of conditions is pointless and wont really tell you that much i think you'll need to pick a flat calm day and try a couple of 5 shot groups at 60 yards pick the best ammo and step it out to 100yards. The rifle should be grouping no more than an 1nch at 100 yards with its favourite ammo.
