  1. Mungler, come and join us in Reading for some Mulled Wine and mince pies, we are having a civilised office party (software company so won't be civilised for long mind you).....let's leave the kids to their toys on here.
  2. Whooooooah there......lordy it's the silly season with winding each other up on this forum at the moment.
  3. ooooh where's the Marathon petition. I'll sign that one. I wholly agree with your comments, however someone got off their backside and started the petition mailed around 250 people to start it off and feels passionately about trying to make a difference. So i will not widdle on their bonfire because they are trying. Who knows something may change, you just don't know. Anyway thanks again.
  4. Brian and Sue will put a great shoot on so why don't you go there. They are excellent people too. There's an alternative a short hop down the Motorway. Barbury Shooting School have a 50 sporting. The only downside is it's £20 and fibre wad only, however they are also excellent people (new owners) and you'll get a lovely warm welcome.
  5. Yes that is the problem Wookie but it's still important to be heard, regardless of whether we can actually change things. Thanks guys for signing the petition and if you could forward it to friends and family that would be great.
  6. Oh dear, this saddens me. (almost as must as the keep Britain pure threads) Mods, I don't envy you one little bit. I absolutely hate it when things get personal, little snipes at each other name calling, it's just not team. Anyway Happy Christmas everyone. Ron m'dear try not to take being moderated so personally.
  7. As you are probably aware the proposed venue for the shooting events at the 2012 Olympic Games is Woolwich Barracks. This is not a suitable venue and despite the best efforts of GB's shooting governing bodies the 'powers that be' are not prepared to move it. The idea is to construct it and knock it down after the Games at vast expense. This will leave shooting in this country with no lasting legacy unlike the majority of other Olympic sports. An E petition to move the venue has been uploaded onto the 10 Downing St website and I would ask that you sign up to support the attempt to move it. Can you please send this onto people in your address book to maximise the number of signatories. Please use the link here: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/OlympicShooting/
  8. What a lovely looking dog and a great early Christmas present too. He looks at home asleep on the sofa...lucky doggy.

    Name dropping

I was on The Rolf Harris Show in 1979. My school was chosen from the whole area and I had to dress as a baker and sing. He was brilliant, spent 2 days at the school and I believe his painting still hangs in the assembly hall. Water.......kids love it. Often see Anne Robinson in Waitrose in Cirencester she's always so miserable looking so I wouldn't ever ask for an autograph or photo, she'd probably call security.
  10. I was going to come to Honesberie on Sunday but I'm now helping another lady out on a Game Shoot on Saturday so I'll have to give Sunday a miss. I'm sorry to hear about Nick's problems, he's a nice chap and has worked very hard since setting that ground up a few years ago. Lets hope he can stay open. Also his Mum makes scrummy choccy cake
  11. Thanks very much Cat, Tony. I'm well happy with that. I have to keep working hard now and do better at the Majors next year. The top boys scores are very impressive, saying that Cheryl and leslie's scores are way up there too. Good for them. it's something to aim for one day. Tutting? I just thought it was your false teeth clacking
  12. shoot, shhot.....pudgy fingers I'm afraid dah-har-ling.................. You really are the sweetest cabbage in the patch :yp: Woof x
  13. Ron honey, read again. I didn't beat him we tied........after all the hype before the shhot it was sweet though Good shooting this weekend then everyone......Of course it's worth mentioning. Ron you're just jealous because MC walked away with a bird and you didn't :yp:
  14. and............................queue closing credits for the latest Luc Besson blockbuster give over.... :yp:
  15. Well there's no other way of saying this I tied with Cat today at the ZZ Christmas Shoot at A1 he's hanging his head in shame and actually he's a tad bitter and twisted about it and mumbled "I can't believe I tied with an also ran" when we were all wandering back to the clubhouse. Also not only that but...... another girl beat him Yes you all heard right and you heard it here first........A girl beat him....actually whooped him I think the term is. Oh me oh my...ho ho ho Happy Christmas. Jonsey
  16. Arh.......shame. I might pop to Honesberie next week so perhaps catch you there. Pin, come along and shoot with us today. You can remortgage on Monday.
  17. AAA there'll be a bat mobile leaving Cricklade at 8am on Saturday for some mad orange whirly bow tie shooting at A1. Room for you and Emmsy if you'd like. Not quite the sporting you're used to but it will be a giggle.
  18. Are-eh Pin thatsnot fur. Dey do dough, don’t dey dough The term Woollyback is used when referring to anyone from across the water, including those from Beer Can Head.
  19. I hate those cards and envelopes you can't write on....almost as annoying as when the toilet roll perforations are misaligned

Spooky....I tool this photo this morning. With my camera phone so not the best quality. I was pulling up to a junction and I could see this in front of me. Really pretty with the low morning sun. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z46/Jonsey01/12122007.jpg
  21. Ahem...........we never rob our own. It'll be the mancs or the woollybacks

    Christmas Spirit

I'd have to agree with LV on this one. Port and Brandy.......lovely but OMG too many and it's curtains for the whole of the next day.
  24. Yes I use a fountain pen all the time. It's a much nicer way to write than a biro and feels more comfortable. In school we always had to write with a fountain pen from Junior school through to A Levels and we were actually taught how to form our letters and write our words in "the correct" manner. I'm not sure they teach that anymore. Shows how old I am perhaps
