Great vid as usual, agree that the short birds will test even the steady dogs, cant say that your aim was not good due to the position of the cam. really great shooting on the last drive though..

a big white sheet on the ground, will make it easier to spot, (used to do this when i was carp fishing and bait them with chocolate, but did use an old air rifle and an old torch with some red cellophane over it bought from the craft shop (or off the red sweets in the quality street box!!) atb glenn

i always have a good laugh when im out, i was sharing the hide with someone that was relativly inexperienced with decoying, (not that i am a master!!) the couple of birds that were flying did decoy, and went straight in to the pattern, i hope that i instilled some knowledge, bored him with my tails of shooting as a kid and provided excelent tuition as to how to fall off my chair gracefully!! Thanks for all the replies. As I said in the post a bad day out is still a day out. Like many others I would rather sit in the hide with the than at home. It was not a blank day. And the people that I went with make it enjoyable. And as for the rabbits they were next to the house too. Nature knows where its safe to feed!!! Atb Glenn.

Well, after an early start and 2 hour drive down country we set up on sprowting peas, all looked promissing, there were a few (10) feeding on the peas and the weather, although showers was set to clear up and the sun to peep out. after a trudge around the field we elected to set up on a dog leg, i had seen a couple of birds making it over this. we got to the dog leg and the ideal place to set up would have us facing a house on the opposit side of the field, so we set up further down as it was a sunday having blasts towards a residence is just not polite. the deeks were set out to encorage the birds to fall into the pattern from the left and the magnet placed out on the small brow for the most visibality, setteled into the hide and waited. and waited and waited. of the time we spent in the hide 4 birds flew over. 2 pigeon and 2 jackdaws. at the end of the day there were only 2 dead 1 pigeon and 1 jackdaw. to say there was nothing flying would not be stretching the truth, visability was approx 3 miles and there was nothing, started a slow pack up and made the trudge back to the car at about 5. sat down and discussed the day and waited for the rest of the group to appear for the drive home. after 20 mins of being sat in the car and finishing my food ration and coffee i poked my head over the gate and was greeted by this... there was no option to shoot here as it was next to a house and road, # Gutted. oh well a bad day out is still a day out. total bag for the group was 4 birds, :(
