First Attempt at Pattern Testing
longgun replied to Cyrus1988's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Impressive pattern. Do you have an idea about muzzle speed? -
I think carrier (dog, pin, spring, ..) has a problem. Worn dog, very sloppy pin, weak spring or combination these. I would try to find another Hatsan and check and/or change trigger plate. carrier dog (I suppose 1100 part): Manually cycling may help to see the problem. Does it lift any? Elevation timing problem? Does stickin ? Sound? etc.

Did you try to eject and feed manually? Put a live one (or 2) in mag and an empty one in chamber and manipulate via handle. If you wish, skip the one in chamber. Good luck.

I googled and found this, https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufacturers/Browning-33164/Shotguns-35562/Maxus-40789.htm?page=4 part key:75 International Orders: https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Foreign-Orders.htm I'm sure that you can find an equipped gunsmith around. Also I have seen a homemade tool to change that spring. A long bolt, a couple nuts and washers A really very simple tool. Unfortunatly can not remember the link or key words. Anyway, I mean consider it done.

Cartridge Velocity Test 24/09/14

which choke used in this tests? Full? -
selector! Yeah, of course By the way, I hope they can fix it soon.

I believe that you must check the tension of this (marked with red circle) spring. This square spring is pushing forward the part which you marked with the red dot.

The hole at the back is for stock bolt. Click on the picture for complete view. http://forum.guns.ru/forum_light_message/60/551071-m13352610.html

does altering shot size affect powder weight

You're right. In practical you don't need to change the charge. -
does altering shot size affect powder weight

How so? Speed, pressure, lethality, eff. range, wad, ...?? -
Well, I found at 1100 and 1300 fps but with different powders. The 1100 fps data with AS and the other with A1. And yes, conditions affects the results but if a gent suggests any, my next question will be to ask the conditions.
-
Hi, I want to reload 32g cartridges with Vectan A1 at 1200 fps. Either fibre or plastic wad but if it's possible, would like to try both. I found a couple circa 1100 and 1300 fps data here in forum but couldn't find any at 1200 fps. Do you know or have any?

"Attention to detail For strength, action and barrels are made from selected chome-molybdenum alloyed steels. All Miroku shoguns have actions forged from a single piece of steel thereby guaranteeing fundamental structural integrity. The nitride finish on the action and the blueing of the barrels increase their resistance to wear, corrosion and other signs of ageing. Each load-bearing part also undergoes a thermal treatment which further enhances the gun's durability. Miroku barrels are internally chromed, except in the choke area, which allows the owner to adjust the choke as required. Standard models have an «old silver» finish and all are engraved, whilst the higher «luxury» Grades have profuse hand-finished engraving, continuing a centuries-old tradition. For all Miroku shotguns, quality is constant, their strength is legendary and they are safe in operation. In the hand, their balance is perfect, and as one has come to expect from Miroku, the finish is impeccable. " http://browning.eu/miroku/products/?level=2&group1=1&group2=1
