  1. I think i might know who you are talking about mate, If it has anything to do with one of the 'wild fowling groups' on Facebook. If it is the picture I'm thinking of its disgusting.
  2. Thats not even that bad, my 1.6 fiesta only manages 30 MPG! But yes, the diesel ones are much better on economy.
  3. Subaru forester wouldn't be a bad choice, they are nearly indestructible, very comfy, handle and drive more like a car than a 4x4 and have a very good mpg.
  4. It doesn't sound too bad as he is using genuine ford parts and besides,i couldn't get booked in anywhere else for another 10 days so its not the end of the world! Cheers for all the help guys
  5. Well guys i got the car into the garage earlier today and as thought, the slave cylinder has gone and i now have to get the entire clutch replaced. The price i was quoted was £438, is that a bit pricey for what I'm getting?
  6. Half choke all the time with mammoth 36g 3's for all duck. Its way too easy to get wound up in what choke you are using, if you find a choke size you like (i find 1/2 covers most situations out fowling as you never really know what you are going to be doing) and get a cartridge that patterns well with it (in my case 36g 3's from gamebore) you will shoot more duck, simply through consistency and not having to worry about another variable that is choke/cartridge combo.
  7. With labour what am i looking at paying for the job then?
  8. Hi Guys, Put simply when it comes to mechanics i am no Edd China, so really i have no idea what it is that has gone wrong with my beloved little fez. Last night when reversing out of my driveway, the car struggled to engage any gears and the clutch pedal felt very slack and as if the biting point had changed. This morning when going out to see if i could make anything of the situation in the better light, a pool of viscous fluid has accumulated underneath the engine and the car will no longer engage any of the gears and there is no pressure in the clutch what so ever now. So my question is, what is the problem likely to be and what is a ball park figure to fix it? Any help will be much appreciated as i need this problem sorted as the car is for work, money is tight at the moment and i don't want any garage ripping me off. Regards, Tom.
  9. The shells are also extremely useful for people who only have a 3" chamber and still want to shoot geese as you get the extra punch that would otherwise require 3.5" of steel.
  10. What an amazing place that must be to shoot. So different from anything that we have up here.
  11. I would kick that thing clean between the nuts if that was me.
  12. Am i missing something here : 'An illegal ALIEN, in Polk County'
  13. If you decide to go out wragby way then you are also pretty close to MGR guns in Woodhall and from there you are close to derek lee's who always have some nice guns in and are always stocked up with quality sundries ect.
  14. Good luck, just make sure that you know the marsh or go out with somebody who does if its your first time, especially if you are taking your lad
  15. I'm pretty sure that we do have a wildlife protection officer so i will give them a call to let them know and if they are legitimate then it won't be a problem. We are quite lucky round here as we have a really large population of them, without a doubt one of the best looking birds in the country, something amazingly graceful about the way they fly.
  16. PM sent, Sounds like it will be a real opportunity for those who are lucky enough to get involved
  17. Exactly what i thought, i don't want to go wasting anyones time if it is perfectly legal, its just a bit of a different road sign to your POL hens
  18. I was thinking of having a bash on the trent at some point in the near future and was wondering do many people on here fish it regularly, and if so how is it fishing at the moment And what areas are you doing ok? You don't have to give too much away, i know theres a few secret squirrels out there! ATB Tom
  19. Hi all, you will have to pardon my ignorance with this post but please bare with me Today driving home from work i noticed a sign on the side of the road saying 'Barn owl chicks £80 each'. Now i haven't the slightest clue about falconry so: 1) do you need a license to sell owls? 2) does it not seem odd, advertising by the side of the road to the general public if you need a license to keep them? 3) Should i report it? I always thought that the falconry community were quite cliquey as to who they took on and sold their birds to, so to me it seems really strange, however it could be completely innocent. any advice welcome. ATB Tom.
  20. seems a good way to do it, i wish i had thought of that as i have about £3000 worth of aquarium that i always back myself about whenever i hear thunder!
  21. well it is more than possible to get power surges, as happened here last week and they can blow fuses. Im not entirely sure it would damage electronics as they should have a circuit break when a current too great passes through to stop any damage occurring. Id say its best just to unplug.
  22. At 10" it really has to be a suppository.
  23. Yeah it does if said person has Elaphantitis
  24. i was getting boxes of 10 for £3 from john coppins last season, so its about half the price of lightening steel. Im not convinced Coppins have any structure on their pricing, i think he makes it up as he goes along, but he always has everything in stock and is a real nice chap so i won't complain If you are ever down this way for some fowling on the Wash then i would more than happily meet up and bring you a whole stack of them, or vice versa if i am ever in scotland i could bring some to you
