  1. yep, posted it earlier its the parker one IIRC although there will be others if not I'd just use some flexi and not bother about buying one
  2. Mines had extensive repairs by the previous owner, rear crossmember still had sticker on it but I don't like the look of his welding……….looks like a pigeons **** on it, poor effort! Its gone from a small rebuild to a ground up one! But getting there haha
  3. mk1 disco - body rots mk2 disco - chassis rots at the rear mk3/4 - no idea fender - crossmember and outriggers plus bulkhead and footwells series - everything
  4. ramsey worm drive or a husky will never let you down
  5. d4x4 tends to be a bit over priced for the most part
  6. why buy a new one ? Already said buy a decent second hand winch http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warn-m8000-winch-land-rover-defender-discovery-4x4-/181110125506?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Other_Vehicle_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item2a2b0133c2 like that
  7. Yes that might be a good idea if you go to that shop watch out for sales staff trying to unload cheap tosh onto you
  8. throttle linkage may need fettling but wont be much out as they're both a cable driven system not fly by wire so just re-route cable if anything, not hard to do at all exhaust doesn't cos of turbo so you need to get a kinked piece of pipe on the manifold to allow the exhaust to clear the bulkhead if keeping turbo but engine works nicely without turbo linkages for the others are the same, 2.5 petrol is just a 2.25 IIRC, only difference is the bore and head from memory of the last conversion thread I read, I'd go down the petrol route tbh or a 200di or tdi if you want to get a parker down pipe conversion
  9. 200tdi engine bolts to the block and uses original engine mounts 2.5NA does the same 2.5NA petrol does the same as its the same block as the 2.25 petrol and diesel
  10. think mitsi like to powder coat their chassis instead of painting too or at least they do on the monocoque ones, once powder coating is cracked you're stuffed
  11. These are the recovery points, 15mm x 50mm steel bar with a 20mm hole through the middle, properly tough recovery points Winch tray is a 5mm folded sheet with braces so no pieces welded together to make the tray like some do, the sides will then be welded to the sides of the tray using angle iron plates in order to add more strength (this was for a heavy offroader) I do have fingers, they're just holding the tray Oh and some rock sliders
  12. buckshots if you're not doing anything overly hard core, I use mine all year round and they're great will be upgrading to buckshots when they wear out though buckshots bighorns Only real difference is the bighorns have side lugs and a little wider tread spacing
  13. Remembered to take some pics I've got a pic of the middle tray for the winch, recovery points and I'm fabricating the sides up this weekend along with the mounting brackets I'm doing for a monocoque shogun winch tray
  14. Sold now anyway Theres a few Lincoln and Murex 415's on ebay atm
  15. BA! they still look more roady than mine Get some chunky muds on there
  16. buy a k series, they're the best, everyone loves a k series, do it, do it, do it!
  17. Looking for £130 as they're £280 new! http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cfc1000-1-t-econ-folding-workshop-cran Frame is in good condition but some general paint chips/scratches, no dents though, wheels are all intact and rolls nicely Jack could use new seals as its weeping, repair kit is £25 delivered from machinemart or much less if you bring the old seals to a hydraulic place and get them to match the sizes Can post for about £30 ish on mainland
  18. I've got a 240v MIG going, its the older version of this. Will easily weld thick stuff, I had it running last summer for a project build and it was all 5/6mm steel which it melted through with ease, was also fine on my exhaust welding so can turn it right down for the thin stuff http://www.sealey.co.uk/PLPageBuilder.asp?gotonode=ViewProduct&method=mViewProduct&productid=15914&productdescription=&productcode=&category=16&catgroup=240&catmicrogroup=1450&analysiscode=&requiredresults=16
  19. Seen it Replying now! Just noticed the link didn't work its this one http://www.sealey.co.uk/PLPageBuilder.asp?gotonode=ViewProduct&method=mViewProduct&productid=15914&productdescription=&productcode=&category=16&catgroup=240&catmicrogroup=1450&analysiscode=&requiredresults=16
  20. Snigger Right, get a cheap one if you're only going to use it occasionally or buy a good one second hand if you want one that'll work all the time incase you need it Champion, Superwinch, T-max, Warn anything over 7000lbs should do you
  21. Price is about £160 posted and painted with some red ox ready for a top coat, but will be less if you want to drill your own winch mounting holes and paint Current one I'm building is a 5mm folded sheet steel bumper with angled sides and recovery points, will get some pics up, also got a shogun winch mount I'm just finishing up (bloody snows halted all progress)
  22. Sealey 190A Super mig, 15kg of wire, gas reg for big bottles, spares too. Looking for £350 posted or an offer, this is the big one with spot welding timer not the new made in china versions! Heres the new version on sealeys site, same welder just a different casing on the outside Very open to offers so throw whatever you have tbh as I need it gone to fund a big TIG welder I've got my eye on now
