Are you sure he was buried and not cremated? Guildford Crematorium is nearby and it may be worth checking with them.

What publication or broadcaster is pro-Brexit? There is not a lot of news to report on coming from our government but quite a bit coming from other countries, largely not very favourable. We could expect news outlets to ignore it all I guess, just as we could just overlook what is coming out of the White House. When the economy or the pound is reported as rising or falling it is a statement of fact. Similarly if a company states that it is investing more in the U.K. or shifting jobs or production to somewhere that is staying in the EU. It isn't the BBC but those wearing the rose-tinted "life will be wonderful outside the single market" without accepting that it is going to be a rough ride at times who need to look for bias.

According to Vauxhall's figures, 80% of their production is sold into Europe and the majority of the component manufacturers are based there. In saying that, Ellesmere Port and Luton are two of their best-performing manufacturing plants and production of the Astra was located here and a German plant closed as a result.

If the child turns out as you fear, £100k may be money well-spent! I don't have a problem with someone deciding they want to live the "alternative" lifestyle as long as a) it doesn't impact on the wellbeing of their kids and b) they don't expect the taxpayer to fund it. There is nothing wrong with home schooling if done properly but I worry about the child missing out on the social aspects of school. There are homeschool groups about that address this and, to be honest, a kid will do better in that environment than they would in a bad school.

Depending on any trade agreements that may be negotiated, there could be tariffs payable on cars imported to the U.K. or into the EU. If a zero tariff is negotiated, clearly this does not arise but we won't know for sure for a couple of years or possibly more. I am pretty sure that total sales will be greater in the EU, so the decision as to whether to continue production in the U.K. depends on how much it costs to close a factory and what you think is likely to be the outcome of trade negotiations. Regarding the latter, if it is zero rate tariff there is no loss or gain either way but if there are tariffs, the company loses. Would you take a bet where you could win nothing or lose something?

No, but you are better informed

It may have been better had he either just drilled it, rather than kicking high, or just gone for the corner when we may have been able to come away with something. What is baffling is the way England responded to the non-rucking by the Italians. If the ref signals the ball is out, pick it up and run with it! Even school kids know that. Blaming the Italians for a failure to capitalise on the opportunities is just whinging...

There are certain things, like festivals and eating brussel sprouts, that you don't have to do as an adult.

I was at Twickenham and the wind played a big part in the performance of the kickers - each of the three flags on the North Stand were pointing different ways so it must have been impossible to judge what effect it would have on the ball.

There is a useful tax calculator here https://www.gov.uk/tax-sell-property/work-out-your-gain as what you will end up paying depends on other circumstances. Another thought.... if you have been renting out property you should have been completing a self assessment for your tax each year.

Before you complain about "all those women in top jobs", take a look at the actual proportion as a whole - in 2015, only 20% of directors of FTSE 100 companies were women and only 2.4% were CEO of a FTSE 500 company. For a woman to be appointed, she generally has to be significantly better than any of the men who are considered.

You are so right - popping the question is just the start of it all

Thanks, I am very happy for you and wish you both all the very best for your future together. I was very lucky - much more so than so many others and my only advice to you is to make the very best of every opportunity that comes your way.

I started going out with my wife when we were both at school and got engaged when she was in her first year at Durham University. We were just chatting, the marriage question just sort of came up and we both agreed that it was a good idea. When we bought a flat in Guildford a couple of years later (how many 20/22 year olds could do that nowadays?), we just thought we should get married. That was in 1981. We had 35 wonderful years together, she was my best friend too and I miss her terribly after losing her to cancer just after Christmas.

The issue has been avoided as Trump's visit is scheduled to take place during the summer recess so Parliament won't be sitting. As for trying to claim 9/11 must have been an inside job as 55% of Americans believe it, perhaps you should try readjusting you tinfoil hat!
