Had the same problem when I zeroed mine in at 100yds with the scope mounted fairly low. Crest of the trajectory was at about 50 and I was missing high. Now zero at 80, first zero is 50 and it doesn't rise any more than 1/4 inch above the sight line in between. Just allow for drop at longer range.

Got 1 or 2 somewhere I shoot that look just like wild ones but with a white stripe down there face. Seen black ones and white ones before other places.

Our best ever night on the rabbits lamping with the 22lr was 115 with 1 gun. Had 130 one night with 2 teams opposite ends of the farm.

Just looking through my conditions out of interest. Says at the bottom "The certificate holder may possess, purchase or aquire expanding ammunition, or the missiles of such ammunition, in calibers authorised by this certificate and use only in connection with the shooting of vermin or, IN CONECTION WITH THE MANAGEMENT ON ANY ESTATE, OTHER WILDLIFE." Anyone know what that's supposed to mean?

They've got different powder in as well Remingtons smell completely different to Hornadys when you fire them.

Always used Hornadys because that's what my local gun shop stocked had no problem with them, sub inch groups at 120 yds then they changed to Remingtons can't shoot tighter than 2 inches at the same range and they don't seam to kill as well and I had a case split the other night out lamping. Seams to be a bit of a lottery.

My Dad bought me in a branch earlier with the same thing to look it up. Most of the Blackthorn round here seams to have it bad. Im a tree surgeon and ive noticed theres a lot of oak apples about this year, must be the weather conditions I suppose.

I think all quarry deserves respect it's what shootings all about. I've shot hundreds of foxes but I still get goosebumps if I watch one through the scope for any length of time before the shot, still gets my heart going after the shot and still feel a bit sick and guilty if it doesn't do the job quite as humanely as I'd like. Even rabbit shooting I won't take a shot unless I can 99% guarantee a clean kill ruins my night if I let one get away wounded. That's a lot of the reason I prefer rifles, got friends who lamp rabbits with shotguns from a vehicle and a lot get away, don't enjoy that. Don't tend to have so much sympathy for crows though, they don't seam to have the same courtesy for new born lambs. No animal deserves to needlessly suffer and if I've done everything I can to prevent it I'm happy. I'd rather be doing the job humanely than letting someone else with less respect do it. Let's face it, most people suffer more at some point in there lives than any animal shot with the right gun in the right hands, it's pretty humane if done properly.

Phone directorys are good for dammage and penetration tests, 2 litre lemonade bottles at 400 yards with the 22-250 they still explode at that range. Oh and my old digital camera with the 17hmr the other day. used to shoot quite a lot of apples off the tree at the bottom of the garden with the airgun and the wasps eating the windfalls

Cracking night last night with the .22 and the 17hmr off the back of the pickup. 63 headshots off to the game dealer! Haven't kept a running total of kills only ones sold, that brings us up to 247! Plus 2 Thursday afternoon with the 17hmr that got left for mr fox so I'll count them. We are probably over 300 but that'll do. 249 Total 1897
