  1. Agreed, I dont care for the sights which is why I asked whether they could be removed earlier, I like what Gazz has done, looks modern, sleek and functional but the extra cost... hmmm
  2. Looks cast to me (I have a 455), bound to snap if you try to bend it.
  3. He has already and the negative public "perception" of the modern style doesnt seem to be the case... as I proved above. Infact some even mentioned that they were more familiar with the modern style as thats what they see most in the media.... still there was no mention of anyone feeling more threatened by the modern style. One old boy said "I dont care for either, all guns scare me..." Has anyone else done a similar survey or the like to back up their opinion on public views?
  4. If someone doesnt want to shoot with me based purely on what gun I shoot they are not the kind of people I want to be shooting with.
  5. no need to close it, just remove all the tripe thats spoiled what could of been a good informative thread.... its a real shame that people cant hold back on the opinions (NOT facts) and feel the need to **** all over someone else interest just because they dont agree with it. At no point did anyone ask whether anyone thought the modern style of gun was acceptable or not yet a few felt the need to spote off and answer a question that was never asked or indeed there view never asked for either. Anyway... yesterday out of interest and to get some insight into what the public really think I did a quick survey (around 20 people) in the local shop, no one I asked were holders of firearms or shot in any way. I had two pics, one of a traditional style gun and one of the Hatsan MPA.... the only question I asked them was "what do you think of these two guns?" Of cause I got some out there replies but interestingly no one said anything about the MPA looking more aggressive or menacing, the general out come was the traditional looked old and the MPA looked modern. Soooo whos got the problem... the public or the narrow minded among us?
  6. I highly recommend using the ignore user option in your profile preferences, it makes for a much better forum.
  7. thats exactly what I've done I'm heading to my local gun guy today, I'll find out what kind of deal he can do me on an MPA.
  8. Hi Hows composite feel? is it rigid enough? I've tried a few comp stocks and some have been quite flexable.
  9. dear god! ignore button activated.
  10. put your egos back in their boxes and give it a rest will ya... all you've managed to do in this thread is make yourselves look like complete ***** and managed to spoil would could have been an informative thread to anyone that is interested in more modern styles of shotgun.
  11. at least with rednecks you wouldnt get all the narrow minded tweed wearing yar yar snobs we seem to have here.... I'll take a redneck shoot anyday. Now a request.... if you've got nothing decent or helpful to add and are just spouting tripe because something doesnt conform to your narrow minded small world do us all a favour and go polish your wood rather than waste our time on here. Being a new member I was disappointed with the first two replies as I feared that kind of closed mind view would be reflected throughout the forum... luckily this wasnt the case... faith is restored.
  12. Of cause I'll run it by my FLO first
  13. looks good Gaz, how much was the mp stock? I've been reliably informed by two well known local gun smiths that our firearms department see clays covered by "winged vermin".
  14. I find a pistol grip is a more comfortable natural grip putting less twist and strain on my wrist allowing me to shoot for longer periods at a time.
  15. Thanks for the helpful responces Breatman & phaedra1106, thats exactly the kind of info I was after. We have our own clay traps so I'm unlikely to refuse myself entry to our own shoot... never say never tho and BOO HISS at the other two for what came across as narrow minded over opinionated tripe. phaedra1106 is the rear site removable?
  16. I'm surprised by such comments. Its a shotgun that looks a bit different to the traditional style, it does exactly the same thing as any other FAC shotgun... but because it has a pistol grip (which I need as I have a shagged wrist), isnt wood and is black that makes it unacceptable? I stopped caring about what I looked like in my teens, its something you grow out of, or most of us do anyways
  17. Hi Guys Has anyone got experience of this shotgun? How do/did you find it? Any bad points? I'm putting in a variation for a FAC shotgun and having 2 traditional type rifles I'd quite like to get a more modern type look. I'll be using it for winged vermin and clays. I've shot a Hatsan Escort a fair bit and think they're very good for the money. cheers Steve
  18. I got the same gun and using 17vmax get a better groups at 100yrds than above... did you take these shots standing?
  19. i was out shooting last night, my buddy came along and before we set off I said "you're going to need wellies, its can be 6" deep in water in parts of the fields"... "I've got my Brashers, I'll be fine" he said.... and much to my surprise after stomping around in water for 2hrs his feet were still dry..
  20. theres no better or worse most of the time, just different and what suites the shoorter is what matters... what I would take from this thread if I were the OP would be that CZ do a good rifle.... then forget all the personal preferance stuff thats been mentioned and go fondle everything I can get my hands on until I find something that fits me...
  21. I've got the 455 with cut down varmint barrel, moderator and thumbhole stock.... as a walking field rifle it can be a bit heavy, with this in mind I put a bipod on it making it an excellent stationary/hide gun, in 17hmr its awesome for this. However, I found that now having carried it alot I've got used to the weight and dont notice it so much unless after long periods in the field. I find the thumbhole stock incredibly comfortable and it fits me perfectly, I also find that the combo of heavy stock and shortened heavy barrel balances nicely too. I'm happy with the trigger and general quality of the rifle. Its a definite keeper for me... but then I've contrasted that rifle with a bare bones super light cz511 which I can carry all day without noticing
  22. If its under warranty you shouldnt be paying anytyhing and that includes any RFD charges, thats the whole point of a warranty...
  23. I found the trigger on my new 455 to be good to go straight out the box.
  24. I only shoot winchester subs (the most cost effect consistant round I've used) in my cz511 semi... can go through 500 rounds without a jam.
  25. I've got a varmint on my hmr.... thats another cracking scope for the cash...
