  1. hornady v-max. i get them for a very good price and i think they shoot very well. tbh i haven't really done enough shooting with the rem to find one it really likes.
  2. tbh i be happy if i only get one. i treat shooting a bit like fishing.
  3. hello, iv been asked to shoot some crows on an farm/estate near me, there is a small wood that runs at the back of there silage pits. iv only got rifles 17hmr and a 22-250 (dont want to shoot birds of trees with these) and no shogun so went to my rfd and asked if i can borrow an air rifle for the weekend he said yes and gave me a weihrauch hw100 in 177 (NOT fac) . can somebody give me the effective killing range of this rifle and what i should zero it in at. i understand there are a alot of variables in this question i just want a ball park figures. cheers Pete
  4. Out again last night with watec home made night vision and bagged another four, quite good considering we only saw five all night but the last one disapeared into a wood before i could get a shot off. distances varied from around 200 yrds to 50 yrds.
  5. sorry im out the country at the mo so it may take a bit of time to give a reply. i found them on ebay for around £10. you need either a 12mm or 16mm. its down to personal preference. i like 12mm.
  6. make one yourself. get a good camera ie ej230 or watec 902h and have a bit of fun.
  7. make your own! check out this camera watec 910hx its around 3-4 more powerful than the ward d vision, it will set you back around 500, you just need a screen a ir and a battery, for around 700 you will have a set up that will put n.v at twice the price to shame. i use the old watec 902h at the moment and you can see 200yrds no problems just go to the pictures on this site and look my name up iv had alot of foxes with this setup. as soon as get back off my holidays im going to upgrade to the newer unit. there something very satisfying about shooting a few foxes in a night with a home made n.v. Please look into it, it so easy and you will save yourself a fortune if you need any info pm me.
  8. i know its cheeky but is there anybody in the north wales are home load who would like to show me how its done? iv got a 22-250 and im starting to get interested in building my own amo. i jhave a set of dies and will get the rest of the gear in the next few weeks.
  9. Please can anybody tell me were i can buy a bore guide for a remington 700 22-250. Iv not been shooting long and im terrified of cleaning my rifle. iv heard so many conflicting reports i feel quite lost.
  10. "HAROLD" you dirty old man
  11. you know what i thought i would but no, i dont get any. you get some glare on your face of the tv screen but iv put some privacy tint that banks use on computer screens and its really cut it down. iv watched most foxes for a few minutes before iv pulled the trigger to make sure it was a clean kill and none of them so far have looked alarmed or ran off. They have just carried on sniffing around and when they present themselves side on, Good night!
  12. i seen the threads but iv had quite a few pm's since last night asking about my build. it was quicker to do this than to reply to all them all personally.
  13. iv put a post on diy section. if any more info needed pm me and il do my best.
  14. to start with it was a member on here who told me how to make this nv. im really sorry i cant remember your name but im very grateful. this pw member told me to go to www.####.com were people with alot more brains than i have make there own nv. My kit consits of Watec 902h camera £90-£190 depending on ebay or new/used 16mm or 12mm lens depending on your scope. £10 each. now i have a ziess 3-12x50 on my hmr and the 12mm is best but i have a nikon 6-20x44 on 22-250 and 16mm lens works better on that. 4.3 tft reverse screen £15 ir iluminator- there are loads of threads on the website i mentioned at the top of the page on how you can cheaply make your own ir. i bought a markylight ir, it was expensive at around £120 but its great everything on it is adjustable. markylight only sells them through #### forum. just ask on the forum and he'll be touch. DSA digital scope adapter. Dont buy the plastic one you can get like i did for £80 because its ****. make you own out of plastic pipe or get a friend with a lathe like i did to turn you one. This is probely the most important part to get right. if your scope has 2" of eye relief then thats the distance you need to you camera away from the scope. But if its slightly off you can use the focus ring on the back off most scope to bring the picture back into focus 12v lithium ion battery's £15. Chinese made battery small light weight with a charger included. iv got two in case one runs out they seem to last for ever. http://i1334.photobucket.com/albums/w644/bikemad24/045_zps34494339.jpg http://i1334.photobucket.com/albums/w644/bikemad24/030_zps006ca7a1.jpg http://i1334.photobucket.com/albums/w644/bikemad24/035_zps1c73b55b.jpg http://i1334.photobucket.com/albums/w644/bikemad24/034_zpse4d0de1f.jpg http://i1334.photobucket.com/albums/w644/bikemad24/th_047_zps1f9cf539.jpg i hope this helps someone out. iv had god knows how many rabbits with this kit on the hmr and 12 foxes on the 22-250. if you need any info please pm me. il do my best but any real technical inquiries id go to the forum mentioned. http://i1334.photobucket.com/albums/w644/bikemad24/025_zps54d03300.jpg http://i1334.photobucket.com/albums/w644/bikemad24/th_047_zps1f9cf539.jpg its worth it !!! night vision forum uk is the website its blocked it for some reason.
  15. 200-250 yrds. this has been measured. there were three of us last night with just my rifle. the other to friends both have kite gen3 nv but use them as spotters now because they are so inaccurate. For your info its a watec 902h around £100 a 12mm lens £5 a 4.3 tft screen £12 a marke light ir iluminator £120 and 12v battery pack about the size of 20 benson and heges £12. i have two battery packs in-case one goes flat and it runs the lot. iv fitted a strip of velcro to the stock so just stick the battery on that. a very cheap and effective nv better than a ns200 and it takes 1 minute to tke off and back to day rifle. pm me if you want any picks or info. im building the same kit now for one of my mates. its so easy.
  16. david i would not do your job for a gold clock. i will always support basc because of they work they do to promote/lobby shooting. they way some websites/charity's/media portray hunters is sometimes very scary. You will not please everyone, and if i have to take out additional legal cover for the cost of 1 box of hornady amo then so be it. the way i see it there is never one tool to fix ever problem. im terrible at writing so if this makes no sense, im sorry.
  17. thanks for all reply's to this topic iv settled on a ziess conquest 6.5x20x50 used but mint for £500. iv already got a ziess duralyt 3 x 12 x50 on hmr and love this scopes.
  18. http://i1334.photobucket.com/albums/w644/bikemad24/025_zps54d03300.jpg Another 4 bite the dust. Amo used 50 grn hornady.
  19. what thermal do you use? iv tried the pulsar and i thought it was very good.
  20. still for sale, price reduced £150, come on you know its cheap!
  21. 1.Monarch 3 6-24x50 SF Rifle £5502 bushnell elite 4.5-30x50 £690 3.VX-3 6.5-20x50 Long Range £930i require a scope for my 22-250. its going to be a bit of an all rounder, long range crows, foxes and be ok with ad on night vision. ideally i want to keep this scope for years so its a one time purchase. if anybody has a one of these scopes please give it a review. id rather not buy the leupold but if its worth the extra cost il smash the piggy bank up! thanks all. sorry for another scope question.
