Steve To keep it simple - any raffle tickets are sold at £1 each - but in batches of £20 The Knife and the high seat session are not in the raffle - they are now to be auctioned on the night So the raffle is for the scope - dozens of bottles - chocolates - hoodies - mugs etc etc A quarter of the sales from here - if any will go the the Royal British Legion

Worth posting the scope and maybe a few of the other things - but a bottle of wine or mug - maybe not Thoughts ?

Great write up -
Approx 50 percent - but in reality i just chuck it in a bag and mix it - I feed perhaps 6-10 bags - some days it will be majority wheat - other days majority seed I have a very high percentage of the land dedicated to wild bird covers - so the whole shoot is full of food really I grow chicory . phacelia / sunflowers / millet / kale / fodder radish / sorghum Biggest holder of birds that i have found is small fresh water ponds To improve the shoot - predator control - crows - foxes - magpies - rats And if you can plant and manage hedgerows - coppice your woods

Yes its really helped our results game wise - but i am also very very interested in the wider benefits to song and farmland birds I use a premium mix from Kings (Frontier) - sunflowers - millet - rape - canary seed - feed radish - and i mix it with wheat I use the mix neat in feeders for the song and farmland birds too and have circa 50 of those scattered on the hedges rows and rides

jall25 replied to jaydub1970's topic in Gamekeeping and Shoot Management
Yes - good point Enfieldspares We actually feed all year round on our shoot - not all the hoppers but certainly half I really keep on top of the vermin and hand feed until well into spring too -
Thats like us MM - we usually account for half a dozen but not one on Saturday Then yesterday i was feeding and the wood was moving with pigeon everywhere Very strange
