  1. Mine too is paid in full but I'm taxed on my wages owing to still working full time. As mentioned, my personal tax allowance had been reduced by £10,400, meaning that my yearly state pension is wiped out by my lower personal tax allowance.
  2. I've just received this from the above. BASC has welcomed a government decision to launch a public consultation on a proposal to remove sound moderators from firearms licensing controls. Launched today, the Home Office consultation seeks views on proposals to amend the definition of firearm in section 57(1)(d) of the Firearms Act 1968, removing the reference to sound moderators. Currently, sound moderators must be covered by a firearms certificate. However, the wording of the consultation states that “sound moderators are not dangerous as firearms, and removing them from firearms licensing controls does not have any implications for public safety”. To respond to the consultation, click here. There are four questions to answer, plus your personal details. The consultation closes on 2 April 2024. You can also email the consultation directly with your comments here. Please add your comments.
  3. Maybe claim off his house insurance? My shooting related equipment, and firearms are insured this way.
  4. When you qualify for the state pension, in my case, last April when I was 66.
  5. Depends on the value of your gun. Leather is excellent of course, but I've got some good quality thick canvas type material ones, that are also padded inside.
  6. Disgusting thing to happen. I hope the thief/thieves suffer badly!
  7. My Nitecore i4 charger is brilliant. It gives a slow charge per battery and the charge cuts off when a battery is full.
  8. I've certainly started a 'good thread' here. I am annoyed that, like many other's, I chose to continue to work full time. My tax code has gone from C1272L to C232L since I was in receipt of state pension. So roughly, £10400 of my personal tax allowance has been clobbered! You would think (😄) the government would allow our state pension to be tax free!!!!
  9. How about trying some strong knitting wool. Or, you could try a cable tie.
  10. Have you tried to tie it onto the scope, possibly with some fishing line?
  11. It looks like it's added now, thanks. Plus, I've uploaded Google Chrome and will not use Bing.com.
  12. Yes, I clicked on the link provided and chose 'extension'.
  13. Its the useless Bing.com. And since I've tried to upload different advert blocking app's, everytime I try to go n the internet, I am now getting a message stating: Your connection isn't private Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.bing.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).
  14. Adblocker Ultimate, as via your link. But, I believe it was installed on my old computer, and will not let me install it again, despite it being free. I will try again.
  15. I'm still working full time. I no longer pay National Insurance but my state pension is classed as income, and therefore I am taxed on it.
  16. Strange! I just tried to install the ultimate version and a message states 'trial period ended'. I have to purchase it if I want to install it! I was running this for as many months as I can remember.
  17. Adblocker was used for ages on my old computer. Running my new one for just over a week and the message came up. I'll try and install it again.
  18. Nice to see that the above is increasing from April. Going up from £815:40 to £884:80. Still not enough though, but better in my pocket than theirs.
  19. Batteries from Norbet Polyak (Amps Plus on Facebook) as he sells the top make/s and is a great guy to deal with. I use a Nitecore i4 'intelligent' charger which is excellent.
