  1. Personally I take them out, call pull again and chuck them at the clay... Usually with great success. Doesn't say a whole load for my shooting... (Clearly in jest)
  2. I mean whilst I understand that price increases affect some more than others. As a £/year cost I think it's more than adequate given the costings of everything in todays world. However I would like to see a nationwide standard of turn around targets etc. and forces measured against nationwide KPIs. I also believe we all can't expect this to happen overnight, any improvements will take significant time as the funding etc trickles through (hopefully). Patience is key ladies and gentlemen.
  3. Please by all means give any new shooter like Alex first refusal.
  4. I will take one of these if they're open to all? Any photos by any chance?
  5. I do love a D4... However as much as I can be a glutton for punishment, I'm not that keen for a 4 wheeled anxiety inducing machine. RR's are just too flashy and shiny for thrashing round lanes, I'll end up caring for it too much.
  6. Premier are on the move to garlands in Tamworth, I believe by March... The change in ownership explains that.
  7. I mean never bet against a jimny right?
  8. So went out today to look at an L200, ranger, d max and Amarok today... The Amarok drove so well out the lot that I think my initial want has been solidified. Also being a long legged blighter it was the best for room etc for me. Also not so heavily commercial feel but rugged and purposeful too. Just not that one, so the hunt has narrowed down to one. Thanks to all the recommendations.
  9. Spend the money and get the MSA ones in the other sales on here. Mine are amazing and really wouldn't have anything else. Basically Swatcom active 8s but without the price tag. £80 posted is a great buy.
  10. S 3.0 diesel 95b... I like it, more eco than one would expect. Great mile eater on the motorway, just get the spec you want or regret. Don't forget they're an Audi sq5 in a different frock. Thanks very much for that sir. Better than I expected to be honest, a worthy thought. I feared the 3.2 would be significantly heftier than that. Mmm my jlr love affair ran it's course a few years back when I had a jaguar I-pace... Yeah enough said on that.
  11. Quite like the ranger, what's the mpg on it? Hear they're all quite thirsty. 🤣 I've teased with one of these... But the boss says she won't get in it if I had one, said that like it's a negative.
  12. Ooh not thought of a Subaru, take me back to my Impreza days as a youth 🤣 I'll have a look. Yeah got a couple of these in the sights. Not too commercial as a daily driver?
  13. So... Been looking for a new motor for my antics. I currently drive a Porsche macan and am soon to be moving to a barn conversion in the sticks. This alongside the shooting has demanded me needing a more robust 4x4 that is ok for the 18 mile commute too. Not keen on spending mega money as I want to not really mind it getting dirty etc... currently in the sights is a VW Amarok. Budget for this is circa £13k ISH obviously cheaper the better. Just looking for any recommendations in case I have overlooked something or someone has anything to put me off an older Amarok. Ta
  14. Well as bad news always travels fast and all that, I thought it best to share some positive from the police (This is well overdue). Predominantly the Warwickshire FLU and their incredible haste, positive attitude and ease. So after a decade away I have come back to shooting. Back then I surrendered my s2 licence to Leicestershire police and sold up etc... Upon returning to the fold I'm in with another force and have been warned from friends that the licencing is a different beast to what it was a decade ago. This started with a 6 week wait for the GP proforma and a hefty amount of chasing, I thought this was the tip of a long wait and frustration. I finally got the proforma back and promptly sent it off to Warwickshire flu alongside with my application, all easily done online. This was on the 25th September. I get a phone call within hours saying they've received my application and need to get my previous details from Leicestershire flu so there may be a delay. Low and behold a few days later I get another phone call saying they've got all the details and will be proceeding with my application. At this moment I'm thinking this communication etc is great... And being ever the pessimist thinking this is where it all goes quiet. Just a week later my referee calls and states that they've contacted him regarding myself etc... A week or so then passes and I get a call asking for them to do the visit, this was arranged for the day after. This is just 3 weeks after initial application. With this completed my certificate gets posted out on the 23rd of October... Just 4 weeks later! I can't thank Warwickshire firearms enough for their professional and swift manner. The fact that royal mail then lost my certificate and they had to send a replacement out is another story but they're called royal fail for a reason. Feeling a very lucky boy and felt some overdue praise to be shared.
  15. The gamebore super steel in 21g is 271/thou. Then there's marginally pricier white gold pro steel at 288/thou in 24g guise. Not horrendous yet still sub optimal. One would assume with the stocks that cartridges manufacturers/stockists have there will be a significant delay if anything set in stone.
