  1. Ok two part answer..... to Beretta, 'your statement without merit or truth', it doesnt look anything like a 'mexican wave'.as you put it. the video used was to show the travel and lifelike flap given in slow motion, that's not how you would use it in the field, nor would you have it flapping for any more than a couple of seconds on a random timer, so being able to spot any time difference between each wing is impossible. You also exclaimed. 'not how a pigeon flies!!!', it's not designed to look like a flying pigeon, it's supposed to represent a landing pigeon, again with the timer, a few flaps as the bird lands or moves about in the feeding flock. so in my opinion, you've never seen one in action, can't make sweeping statements, capped off with exclamation marks and smiley faces, and not expect to get a reation from someone who knows the machine inside out, and uses it on a weekly basis, and designed it!... And that Bakerboy, answers your question as well. whether or not Beretta will own up or deny a vested interest in his flapper of choice is yet to be seen. I have nothing more to add to this conversation, Gentlemen, enjoy your shooting!
  2. Very true Bakerboy, it's a little frustrating to read someone making a statement that is completely without merit or truth, especially as they obviousely havent seen the ff working in real life, and the obvious response if one of defence. Every one has their own opinions on what works and what doesn't. Beretta06 lives not far from me, by the looks of it, he is more than welcome to borrow an ff4 to try for himself.
  3. If you watch footage of pigeons landing they twist and turn , one wing goes up, the other goes down, they are all over the place. It's totally irrelevant that one wing on the flapper is a fraction of second behind the other. lets not forget , our 'target' is a bird way up in the sky, looking for the flash of the wing bar, and the ff4 delivers that, no question
  4. No your eyesight is fine Bereetta, it's in s.l.o.w.m.o.t.i.o.n..that's why you can see it, check the video of it on a straw bale, .. and the 'guru' purchased two ff4's, incognito, and didn't make contact until after he'd finished trialling them, to say they were going to do an article in the magazine...
  5. When it's run at the proper speed the minimal difference in drop is totally un- noticable as it's a millisecond of difference. whether or not i have an interest in the product is irrelevant. all I will say is this machine is highly rated by a certain Pigeon guru for Sporting Gun magazine, and will be features in a special article on it, in the very near future. ... Everyone who has puchased one have given highly positive feedback, and rated the ff4 over other flappers on the market.
  6. Excuse me, but i beg to differ! the wings do flap together! the only 'cyclic'motion is from the drive cam on the motor. the wings are pushed up and down in a very realistic manner.by the wing bars on the cradle. EXCATLEY how a pigeon flies, see thier slowmo on youtube to see how realistic it is. and its very robust, and well mad, using quality materials.
  7. Get the ff4 from flightline decoys you can use it for dead birds, and the full bodied foam wing decoy and the sillosocks hypaflap. a 12v 7amp, lead acid battery will cost you a tenner on Flebay, and will run the ff4 all day.when used with a random timer.
  8. Get the ff4, you can put real birds on the removabe cradle, take that off , and you can use the sillosocks hypaflap, or the full bodied foam wing decoy, and the ground spike comes off, and you can put it up the air on your bouncer. it will be featured in Sporting Shooter next month I believe.
  9. Had much the same happen to me With a Jack Pyke floater and rod... complete waste of money,
  10. Didn't think we were allowed to post links to other website, not advertising on here?....nice bit of kit tho
  11. If you mean spinning round in circles, I would say fix them, but a little movement is natural, but not if they are disco dancing!! Good luck
  12. A couple of ff4' flappers is all I use now, haven't used the rotary for over a year.
  13. Do you think that's because the pigeon are more gluttenous, and eat everything they can find edible. And the corvids are a bit fussier or take thier time?
  14. Been reading some great feedback on Facebook about the the ff4 multibird flapper, but I noticed the waiting list is over two weeks ....is it worth waiting for...anyone got one?
  15. If you were shooting from the same field over a given period of weeks, they might start to associate the truck with danger, but normally it doesn't worry them, they land in the field with the tractor sewing. it's not vehicles that they are worried about it's them blighters in cammo gear!
  16. I am reliably informed Sporting Shooter are dong a 'six of the best' article on flappers and whirlies in the next issue....should be interesting!
  17. Yes that's the right way!!! thank god one of us knows what he's talking about!! lol
  18. I think you are talking about the ff1, which has been superceeded by the ff4, from flightline decoys, they do several models and the dearest is only £59.60 posted. bakeyboy on here has two of the models and rates them highly, they are more robust, and capable of flapping factory decoys as well as dead birds, becaus of a removable cradle.
  19. Excactley! not to mention the corvids feeding nearby, As long as the area looks 'safe' and realistic, It wont matter. imaging you are up in the air looking down, you've got some woodies out in the sunshine, and others feeding closer to the edge in the shade, the colours of the shaded birds would be noticibly darker, than those out in the sun, they are used to seeing variations in the light and dark off thier feeding buddies feathers.
  20. It's easy to blame your 'tools' of the job when the birds don't play ball. Naming and shaming a company and it's products, just becaus you had a bad day on the pigeon, is a bit naughty in my opinion. there are so many other factors that could exlain why the birds wheren't coming into your decoys. As Caeser said, what works one day won't neccessarily work the next!
  21. Bought a Jack Pyke full bodied foam wing decoy and the swing attachement for Fleabay, I have never ever, everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. seen such a pile of poop in my life, the decoy body was split from earhole to breakfast time the clamp that was 'supposed' to attach it to the bouncer just fell into the threaded (just) hole. Phoned the seller, who asked me how big the package was.1.5m long.... (why didn't he know he sold it to me!). so he sent a returns bag. that was, how big? oh yeah let me think..........TEN INCHES LONG!!!!!!!!. phones him back, and was told to stick the bag to the box and take it to the post office, which I duly did. After waiting in a 25 minute que, I got to the counter and was promptly told that, " that stamp is for second class, small package, if you want to send that box it will cost you £13.80!!!". Draw breath................................................................. . Soooooooooooooo another phone call and was told he can't do anymore, and if I was that bothered, to open a claim, which I did... two weeks later got a full refund . What a palava!
  22. Hi , could anyone tell me if the guy. (Simon is his real name) who makes the 'Norfolk Flapper. the manual draw string one, is still on PW? Thanks
  23. It's not all overpriced rubbish, the ff4 is great value for money when you consider how well it's made,(in the UK), the versatility, and how much better it works than other flappers on the market.and lets not forget, we are men...we like toys and gadgetts, it takes us back to our childhood, with our new toys. No one is ever, 'forced' to buy anything, tempted, or encouraged maybe.? I think confidence in your own abilities, fieldcraft, and experience, all lead to not needing to try everything new that comes on the market, but thre are thoses who just have to have the latest of what's on offer, theyv'e probably got the 60" plasma tv and stereo surround as well!
